  • How long is synchrony optimized installation going to take.

I've seen numerous other posts regarding this problem on this forum.

This Vienna installer is not blowing my mind.  Vienna is by far the most expensive library in the VST world, and I'm not liking the fact this installation has been spooling for 4 hours now.

I don't know whether it's hung in process, or what.   But it looks immobile

For 1500 dollars for a VST-  i expect more than just sound.   thinking about calling it a day, asking for my refund and heading over to audio bro for LASS modern strings 3.   Or better yet, Spitfire Professional symphony.

For the price of vienna synchron strings, you can buy the entire spitfire orchestra, and it has the BEST producer reviews.

Ill bet I didn't have to wait a day for it to install either.

    Welcome Frank,

    Sorry to see you disappointed.

It's a 240 GB download, it takes some time. Did your download finish already? What do you see in your Vienna Assistant, when you click "Show Progress" in the lower left corner?

Could it be your download speed?
Or are you maybe installing on a ExFAT formatted drive (you should have seen a warning message in that case)?

You can always send us screenshots to check what's going on: support@vsl.co.at

I'm sure we can fix this!

    Best,
    Paul

  • The download speed through the assitant is indeed not very fast compared to speeds in apps of other VST library providers. Even with a very fast internet connection it took some time to get all string libraries uploaded.  The speed you see at the bottom of the display in the app also varies a lot over time if you have a large library to download (I think you also see the number of servers change?).

Maybe this helps: If it seems to go asleep I noticed that pausing and starting again can wake up the process.
