  • Damping Tam-Tams

    Hi,

Is there a dedicated command to damp a ringing Tam-Tam note? Or, is there a suggested workaround? For example, I'm experimenting with using very short notes, that seem to translate into a shorter release.

Or, maybe using the MIDI Release CC is a better way of doing it? Or both methods have a place?

  • Hello Paolo!

If you are talking about Synchron Percussion tam-tams, you can trigger them with the key F4. Then they will ring as long as you hold the key. On key release they will get damped.

    Best regards,
    Andi

Andi, sorry, I forgot to specify that I was asking about the VI Tam-Tams. I was looking for something like the alternative trigger you describe for the Synchron series, but it seems it is not available.

In any case, editing the Release control seems to do a fine job.
