  • Audio interface thoughts

I'm moving from a 2012 Mac Mini to either a new Mini or maybe a Studio but my trusty old Focusrite Saffire Liquid 56 will have to go.

Haven't got the funds for a Clarett 8 so looking at Scarlett 18i20 3rd gen also considering Audient Evo 16 maybe Presonus Quantum 2626.

The hardware side is all fine but the drivers are the big concern. I don't need hundreds of tracks but want to be able to do moderate orchestration without nightmares.

I'd appreciate any thoughts about experience with these.

    Happy New Year to all

  • Hi,

From personal experience, I stay away from Focusrite - there are other manufacturers with much more stable drivers (especially for Windows users).

  • Thanks Andreas,

Good advice. That's how I ended up in OSX after years of Bootcamp Windows.  A windows "update" sent my Saffire into snap crackle pop land. Had to leave Samplitude behind. I just sprung for the Quantum 2626. We'll see
