  • 8 Core 16 thread CPU and VI Pro settings question.

    Hi,

What would be the best settings in VI Pro for the aforementioned CPU?.

I was getting dropouts so I upped the Streaming Thread to 8. Should I go 16 maybe?. I kept the Mixing threads on 1, upped the Pre-allocated Voices 1024, Maximum Voices to 4096 and Instance voices to 1024. Should I just go all out and set everything to max or......?

These setting fixed the drop-outs but with VI Pro being a 2013ish piece of software maybe today's CPU's can handle its maximum settings.

    Thanks for any help,

    Samsung EVO 1 + 2 TB

    😉

  • Do you have a way to test the transfer speed.

My internal SSD on my MacBook Pro is over 2000mb/s R/W ; they are M2 PCIe NVMe ssd

Some SSD do not go over 600 mb/s

do you have the possibility to have a M2 PCIe NVMe ssd in your PC ? there are new ones running up to 7000 mb/s

If yes you buy one from Amazon, do a trial and if your problems are not fixed you send it back and get a refund ðŸ˜Š

  • Yeah wow! 7000 MB/sec. That's fast. I doubt I would need that much data per sec for what I am doing. But my mobo does support M2 PCIe NVMe ssd.'s so I might check that out.

    Cheeers!
