I admit I have hundets of plugins and therefore used to only scan certain importand folders with Sampler VSTs.
NOW the new version of VePro just scans all VST3 and I can't even disable it in the settings it seems. No option yet.
So I run VePro and I let it run for 6+ hours now with no further infos than just "scanning plugins" and a log that just states:
2023-01-27 16:47:50.481 INFO [7616] [VESplashScreen::] VESplashScreen: Initializing...
2023-01-27 16:47:51.681 INFO [7616] [VESplashScreen::] VESplashScreen: Loading integrated plugin support...
2023-01-27 16:47:51.685 INFO [7616] [VESplashScreen::] VESplashScreen: Scanning plugins...
bummer, I can't roll back aftert I completely uninstalled VePro in hope to fix it by a new installation :-/

What a mess. Made the mistake to try it with "Reset and Rescan All". Starts hanging on a plugin with validation. So I am left again with plugins missing. Please why this again, why? Its such a pain and needless work and waisting of time to get the instruments back in VEP I need.

Workaround
Move all plugs from your VST and VST3 to a for example, "VST off" "VST3 off" folder. But before you have to set the rights of the Plug-In folder in Library/Audio/Plug-Ins to read and write also for the user. It's normally set only to System and others. Choose also apply to all child objects. Otherwise it will ask for every single plug to authorise the move.
Then move only the plugs you need back to the VST/3 folder. Then go to the prefs and choose, reset and rescan all. Same with components/AU. After this move all plugs back from the "off folder" to you VST/3/components folder, so that they are available again for your DAW or whatever.
Unfortunately if you want to add another plug, you have to repeat the whole process. It's also a pain, but it works.

Hi!
Could you please clear the VE Pro Plugin cache folder from here:
~Users/*YOURUSERNAME*/Library/Caches/VSL/Vienna Ensemble Pro
(This folder is hidden by default - it's not the system Library folder. The User Library folder can be accessed via the Finder "Go" menu while holding the Option Key)
After clearing the cache, please hit the "RESET & RESCAN ALL" button again.
Does that solve the issue?

Hi and no has not solved the problem. Now I have to use my own workaround to get everything back to normal. Will not try anything else. Too much wasted time. When I am through again, I have it as I need it and good.
Further still to the info. I have deleted the folder "cache". But strangely enough it was not created again.
