Hello everyone!
I'm unfortunately experiencing severe issues when using the VEP plugin on my new MacBook Pro M2 Max.
Specs:
MacBook Pro M2 Max
macOS Ventura 13.2
VEPro 7.2.1495
iLok License Manager 5.7.0 GM (the current version)
FYI, as I was reinstalling everything I also migrated my licenses to iLok.
First the good news. The VEPro Server application works as expected, beside the occasional UI glitch, which I assume is due to the Rosetta translation.
The plugins on the other hand have their UIs frozen and don’t respond to any clicks. See attached screenshots. This happens with both the regular and AU3 versions.
What I’ve tried so far:
- Logic Pro 10.7.7 in both native Apple Silicon and Rosetta Mode, trying both my existing template and a new session
- Ableton Live 11 (native Apple Silicon), using a new session
- Restarting the computer
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of VEP
- Rolling back to an older version of VEP
- Resetting and rescanning the AU plugins in Logic each time
All of the above yield the same result. Further things that I have observed:
- Sometimes the VEP UI does appear to be responsive and I can connect to the instance. This happens randomly.
- Logic reporting a serious problem with “one AU plugin” and then having to quit.
- One plugin not seeing the available instances anymore, while another one is connected and working normally.
As is, I can’t use VEP at all. I was thinking I should uninstall it until there is a fix. Unfortunately, Vienna Assistant (1.0.264) kept crashing while I tried to do this. Reinstalling Vienna Assistant allowed me to perform the uninstall. FYI, after rescanning the AU plugins in Logic, VEP still shows up in the Plugin Manager as “can’t be opened”.
Has anyone experienced something similar yet?
