I rushed out and bought the new Synchronized harps Now setting up xp maps for Dorico.
Observation: Harp 1 [vel xf] Timbre Adjust is missing cc18 to switch it on and off. Also, other [vel xf] patches have xf enabled by default but Harp 1 doesn't. I haven't looked at the others yet.
The question then: what is the difference between "muted after rel." and "short"? For Harp 2 there is also a sons etouffes distinct from muted and short. Again, how do they differ?

Hello Marcabru!
You don't need to set up Dorcio expression maps for the SYNCHRON-ized Harps. We have already done that. The new map comes with the latest version of the VSL for Dorico installer that you can find in the Vienna Assistant under Notation.
>> Harp 1 [vel xf] Timbre Adjust is missing cc18 to switch it on and off.
=> If you want that controller, you can simply add it on the CONTROL page.
>> Also, other [vel xf] patches have xf enabled by default but Harp 1 doesn't. I haven't looked at the others yet.
=> At the following link you can find the different preset versions explained. https://www.vsl.info/en/instruments/synchronized/harps#included-presets
>> what is the difference between "muted after rel." and "short"?
=> "Muted after release" holds the note as long as you hold they. Then it gets muted. "Short notes" contains short notes, regardless for how long you hold the key.
>> For Harp 2 there is also a sons etouffes distinct from muted and short. Again, how do they differ?
=> The Harp 2 "Damped" patch contains very short notes that get damped at the attack.

Andi

Thanks Andi. I'll get the latest installer.
>> Harp 1 [vel xf]
I meant [xf sus]. Adding the controller is what I did, but I know you guys like consistency :)

I thought that I added the Timbre Adjust On/Off, but I find that I did not, and cannot. In the dropdown that opens when clicking the + bottom left, there is no category for it, only for Timbre Adjust.
I looked at a couple of other instruments (specifically Synchronized Brass SE Horns and Synchronized Dimension Strings 1 Violin) and I noticed that Timbre Adjust On is available in the Control list, but there is no corresponding category in the + dropdown.

Thanks Andi. That's where I was looking, but on my PC I can't see anything beneath Timbre Adjust
Update: I just checked the Synchron Player in standalone mode, and I found it. Previously I've been patching in VEPro (as per the screenshot). Marcabru attached the following image(s): TA.png (122kb) downloaded 0 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.

Hello Marcabru!
If your screen is not big enough to show the complete parameter list, you could temporarily change the display size to 75%.

OK Andi, that works. Thanks.
I notice that in standalone Synchron Player, I can navigate up and down the list of parameters using the arrow keys on the keyboard. In VEPro, the same keys go up and down the channels of the selected instance. Is there a keystroke combination -- shift+up/down, for example -- that will work in VEPro?

Hi Marcabru!
If you have Synchron Player opened in VE Pro, the shortcut will reach VE Pro. I don't think that this can be omited.
Best, Andi
