  • removing NKS entries from Komplete Kontrol

    Hi all,

When running the NKS installer I was too impatient and left every instrument checked, so now I'm stuck with a bunch of vsl libraries in KK that I don't even own.

Now obviously the simplest solution would be to just buy everything, but that might not be happening today :-) so I've been trying to remove the ones I don't own.

That didn't work completely as KK (both software and hardware) still show them in the browser, albeit without the artwork, so clearly I did remove something.

I tried running the installer again, while deselecting everything I don't need, and then the installer prompts all the other stuff is already installed and "deselecting these titles will not uninstall them".

So does anyboby know what to do to remove these libraries completely? I know it's not exactly an issue anybody should be losing sleep over, but I'd just rather not be browsing through a bunch of stuff that's not actually there. :-)

Any help would be appreciated! Nice day to all!

  • Hello, I don't have a solution, because I have the same problem, so I join the question!

  • Bump!  Same issue here.  Anyone?

  • Hi!

Now, I must say that sounds fairly reasonable! 😄

But here is what you actually can do:

Please run the uninstall for the VSL NKS software. That will remove all those NKS presets. Afterward, you can simply download & run the current NKS installer again while also making the correct selection.

    Best,
    Andreas

To remove the unwanted VSL libraries completely from Komplete Kontrol, follow these steps:

    1. Manually delete the library folders from the installation directory.
    2. Update Komplete Kontrol's database or library through its preferences/settings.
    3. Open Native Access and check for options to repair or uninstall the unwanted libraries.
    4. Restart both Komplete Kontrol and your DAW after making changes.

If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Native Instruments support for further assistance

Ive tried to remove U-he Zebra from the Komplete Kontrol library, but have had no success. Ive deleted everything I could find, for example U-he application support and preset folders (both user and system), components, vsts, all the files from the NI folders. Scanned and rescanned everythins. I have searched forums and google. Nothing seems to work. I still have it on my Komplete Kontrol which is irritating since it has a ton of presets which give me errors.

  • @xitag U-he have a forum on the KVR website and U-he's support is very responsive. You might try those avenues for a solution.
