  • Hi Cyril,

"being disappointed" isn't good, but as a description for a technical issue it's a bit vague. Please explain in more detail: Are you using Synchron Libraries or Synchron-ized Vienna Instruments? Where do the Roles you're loading come from? What's your host, what are you trying to achieve, what are the reproduction steps, and most of all: What is it that is disappointing you?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards,

  • Hello Dietz

Please explain in more detail: Are you using Synchron Libraries or Synchron-ized Vienna Instruments?

Before the roles where re-loaded it was sounding great compare to Synchron, very clear

Where do the Roles you're loading come from?

    Synchron Stage a Wide

What's your host, what are you trying to achieve,

    Mac

what are the reproduction steps, and most of all What is it that is disappointing you?

I have decide to use only VI instruments

The woodwinds and the winds are covered by the Brass if you use the volume defined in the Role

Also it looks like there is a placement problem if you use Synchron Stage a Wide, winds and strings are mainly stuck on the center

Do you have a picture of the ideal placement of the instruments when you use Synchron Stage a Wide.

The placement of the choir is in front of the winds, very strange !!!

Thanks in advance for your help

    Kind regards

    Cyril

P.S. I have review the placement and the volume of the instrument ; it is getting much better

    Hi Cyril,

I know, that language barrier is difficult to overcome, but I have a really hard time to understand what you're actually asking for.

Well, that decision has been made when the orchestra seating for Synchron Instruments was defined. Not much I can do about it in a preset collection that's meant to match these settings as closely as possible. But the nice thing about MIR is that you can put the respective Icons anywhere you want to hear them play yourself. 😊

    Hope that helps,

    Hello Dietz

    Thank you so much.

Sorry for the language barrier, I don't know how many French customer you have, but it may be the time to have a support in French too.

I have decide to put the width to zero and the volume to 0db too

I control the volume in Logic and the instrument do not mix together ; so you do not have a 'brouhaha".

With your 96 tracks console, I suppose you use close mics and you mix instruments indidualy

Hi Cyril,Yes, there are screenshots for all Venue Presets. They are derived from legacy MIR Pro's "MIRx" settings and should look similar to the pictures shown in the MIRx manual:

    -> https://www.vsl.info/en/manuals/vienna-instruments-mirx/venue-details/synchron-stage-vienna#sy-stage-wide

This is very help full thanks.

I have a dilemma about placing a Drum Kit as the arms and the legs of the drummer are not long enough ðŸ˜Š

If you look to the attach picture you are going to have a big laugh

In a normal mix the instruments of the drum kit are placed from right to left

Do you have a solution ?

     Kind regards

    Cyril

P.S. Looking forward to have the MIR manual in One PDF, so it is easy to find what you are looking for and not to bother VSL support.

Keeping the volume at 0 dB is a good idea when you plan to use the DAW's mixer.

Zero width is also ok for mono sources, but I wouldn't do this in case of stereo tracks, especially not in case of ensembles. MIR likes the variation that comes from stereo signals triggering individual impulse responses for the left and right channels. The result in most cases sounds "richer" and more pleasing to the listener's ears.

    Hello Dietz

Thank you for your advise, for the moment I am only using one Musca track.

In my previous post I was speaking of the problem of a Drum kit

Do you have a better solution that mine ?

    Kind regards

    Cyril

    CC = snare drum

    BD = Bass drum

  • If you like the sound, leave it like that - nothing wrong with it!

It seems as you're aiming for some kind of "unreal" hybrid drum sound, with the typical highly exaggerated panning of a dry studio recording, but with the wet signal's sound of a drum kit positioned far away from the listener. In that case I would create one or two MIR Icons set to 100% wet and use them as an reverb on an AUX send for your dry drum sounds in Logic's mixing console. This is also where the panning takes place, in that scenario.

MIR's Icons have to be set to a General Purpose profile that allows for the extreme width you will need (see screenshot).

    Hope that helps,

  • Hello Dietz

Thank you very much for your answer.

I am going to do a try of the different solution that you propose to see what gives the best result.

My piece is almost finish, just waiting to be put to Itunes.

    Kind regards

    Cyril

  • Hello Dietz

    I have follow your indication

I have mix the drum kit in Logic on a bus and send that bus to MIR PRO

    Many Thanks
