I recently bought an M2 Mac mini pro 32GB 12 core and I have an old 2013 MacBook Pro with 16GB RAM and Big Sur OS. I wanted to know if my MacBook would work as a slave to run VEP and synchron and use my Mac mini as the host? I am new to network set ups so I am still trying to figure out the best configuration and if I would need to use another machine instead of the MacBook. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi,

Technically, it will work if you are on macOS 10.13 or higher.

BUT: Personally, I wouldn't really suggest to use a 10 year old computer in a new setup.

Best,

Would a Dell OptiPlex 3040 SFF Core i7 3.4 GHz - SSD 512 GB RAM 32GB do the job? I’m looking at some used machines thanks

Hi,

The faster your CPU and the more cores you have, the better for VE Pro.

Best,
Paul
