VSL as AI?

Hello! As generative AI has successfully coped with voice synthesis, the emergence of AI orchestras seems inevitable. The transition from isolated samples with numerous files constituting an instrument to "monolithic" instruments might also introduce a user interface, where instead of managing patches, matrices and switches one would select a group of notes and set them as "passionate violin legato with a hint of gypsy flavor". A question for VSL management: is the strategy to compete with AI solutions or lead the revolution by applying years of research and expertise to the technology?

I just hope they will continue to support human intelligence and creativity with their tools, and will never become a toy's company.

There is already AI software for composing music, one is called ORB

As a first step I would already be super happy if I could just record midi notes and then let the AI do the automation of the expression|vibrato|... faders/sliders etc. to make it sound realistic. Training such a model should be fairly easy.

With enough meta-data this is possible. MIDI does not have enough meta-data for that purpose, but notation does.

You can have more that 127 controlers

You can add a begin and end

You have also sysex but this is another story

In Logic, Cubase .... you also have Expression Maps
