Hi friends,

I own the Synchron Brass and VI Dimension Brass I - now I wonder if the Synchronized Dimension Brass ist worth the upgrade. As I own the VI Dimension Brass I have the feeling that they are better in some expressions than the Synchron Brass. How do you think? Should I invest in the Synchronized one (plus Dimension Brass 2)?

Thank you Cyril - different player means different sound? I just had the impression that the Dimension Brass sounds more articulated and complex but I am not sure. How did you decide?

I HAVE TO SPECIFY I USE MIR PRO 3D

I made a Mix with Synchron instruments, did not like it

Speaking with support they told me to remove the reverb in the Synchron instruments

Still did not like the Mix

Then I used the VI PRO instrument

Much better result using the patch that auto detect the length of the note, it is avoiding to spend days setting common articulations

This seems to go a bit off-topic.

As a general rule of thumb, MIR Pro 3D works best with DRY & CLOSE-UP instruments. The Synchron libraries are, per design, the opposite. These are "wet" samples with the hall of the stage "baked" into the samples. MIR Pro has been designed with the dry samples of VI Series in mind.

As for the original questions:

The SYNCHRON-ized Dimension Brass samples are based on the same original sample content as our VI Dimension Brass. As Cyril correctly pointed out:

It's a player preference, really. Do you prefer the 100% dry sound of VI Series and the workflow of the VI Player? Or do you prefer the Synchron Player user interface & workflow? All musicians correctly seated and ready to play with the Synchron Stage sound.

SYNCHRON-ized libraries are the easiest to match and mix with Synchron Libraries or Big Bang Orchestra libraries - the have the same sound signature.

Best regards,
Andreas

Just out of curiosity, are the VI and Synchron-ized Dimension Brass libraries recorded using Bb Trumpets or C Trumpets. The online manual doesn't seem to specify.

sy Woods, Brass, Perc I, Str Pro, Elite Str, Prime
syz Woods, Dim Brass I, Perc, Solo Str, Dim Str I, App Str, Harps
VI Symphonic Cube Standard
Studio One 6, Dorico 4, Cubase 12
VE Pro, MIR Pro 3D
Windows 10, i5-9600K, 64GB
