  • Advice please

I use the Pro Edition and the Horizons in the Giga format on 2 PCs. If I upgrade (or is it 'crossgrade'?) to the full Symphonic Cube with the VI engine etc should I:

    1. Install from scratch the new version on a G5 and keep the 2 PCs
    2. Scrap the Giga software on one of the PCs (Pentium 4 ) and install it on that?

What I'd like to know is: will VSL be favouring Mac or PC?

  • Jrm,
I'm not a techie so the first part i'll leave to the experts.

The new cube package includes Vienna Instruments in VST/AU/Standalone.
So Mac and Pc users have been treated equally (Always a rare treat!)

The MIR project is initially for PC, and is likely to need it's own computer.

See the MIR page for more details about this.

    Regards,

    Alex.

  • Hi jrm1,

you can do both. Keep GS and install the new Vienna Instruments as well (maybe just to test what they can do) and have it also on your Mac, no problem. You will see that your workflow will be much faster with the Vienna Instruments, and the more computers you have for them, the more comfortably you can access more articulations.
All you need is some diskspace.
