    Why not make an interface for 16 bit? Would it be too hard to make a second interface???

    I'd guess the interface is not the issue, its the programming of the samples so the interface can take advantage of it that's the issue. Why produce 16bit when you can have it in 24?

    I know where you're coming from though - it'd be nice to use our current samples with the new tool.... [[;)]]

    I think the advantage of working in 16 bit AND the compression scheme is that our existing many PC's running VSL would have even more capacity (loading per ram limits). Would have been nice to have a 16 bit option for everything but a decision had to be made and reprogramming all samples in 16 bit (as well as 24 bit) for the new VI is not practical. Onward and upwards.

    I agree, especially since I just purchased the full library in July for full price. It would be great if I could use my 16 bit samples with the new interface. I would not mind paying more to upgrade the interface without having to spend another $6000 to get back what I already have.

    I don't think that it will happen, certainly not in the short term. Even if your samples were 24bit you could not use them with the new interface, as the format has been changed.
