    Hi there
    just got VSL Pro Edition...and i was experimenting with the cello ensemble.
    ex. - VC-8L_mV_sus
    at the moment my modwheel does nothing to the sample and i was wondering if i can assign someting like "expression" to dynamically improve the playing...

    Hi... you need to select the right patch for the modwheel to have effect. The "MV" part of the patch you have chosen isent "modwheel" but is "with vibrato".

    You need to select the one named something like 'VC-8L_mV_sus_lay4'

    thanks for your message..
    so you're saying that the modwheel can be used only for a very limited number
    of samples, right?
    at the moment i own the pro edition without performance set (performance tool).
    Do you suggest any tips to semplify the articulation of samples for a better result.

    I've seen in the download area the alternation tool.
    Can i download it? is it worth it?

    I cant answer your performance tool question since I have always had the full edition including the performance set.

    Reharding modwheel I beleive there is a modwheel patch for just about every instrument, and even more if you update your samples from GS2.5 version to GS3.

    I cant remember which patches I got by updating but I have modwheel control for sustains, tremelos, trills and even some short notes (although I prefere using played dynamics for short notes)

    Lastly - get the performance set if you have the money - or even better get the new VI [:)]

    Unfortunately i've got .exs files using Logic. I'll see what i can do.
    I wish i had good cash to buy VSL new stuff.....working on it..

    INstead, you can create a transformer object to translate mod wheel (controller 1) information into volume (controller 7). I did this to try and increase the immediacy of real time expression and dynamic changes for string lines and had great success.
