  • Hmmmmmmmmm, now I see why they sound so good. You have the patience of a saint and a fertile imagination for novel uses of dynamic patches. If I could do half of this I'd be happy.

    Never mind, I'm looking forward to the updates of VI, which will no doubt read my mind and save me doing any keyswitching at all [:D]

    "Auditioning" patches with the keyswitches is getting faster as I become more familiar with the details of library. But it's still a far cry from playing in real time.

    And yes, I'm using the dynamic patches more and more. The crescendo patches are great for the first note of a legato phrase as the attack is often more gradual. The diminuendo patches are often good when I need the "soloist" to "lean" into a note. Many of the dim patches at lower dynamics have a nice mini swell at the start of the note. The dynamic patches are an often over-looked place to find expressive nuances. Definitely explore them if you find the time.

  • Great job Jay. The dyn patches 'evolve' the vibrato, tone, timbre, etc - that's why they sound so good.

    Becuase of am SOOOOO lazy (and always pushed for deadlines) I find the velo XF (run by a footpedal) is my way of imitating this faster. Doesn't work very well on anything but 3 or preferrably 4 vel levels though.


    (having said this, if I had a solo flute cue of this length - I would just have to spend this KS time - really sounds so good!!! [:D] )
