    Hello !

    I noticed that loading time of either standalone plugin or AU version in Logic takes ages after a restart.

    At first, I thought it was because it was building some kind of database or ultimate license check, and that it would only happen once.

    But when I restarted my computer (Mac Quad G5 with 4,5 Go RAM) I first got a "License key not detected" message, and after another restart, VI Standalone took maybe 10 or 15 minutes to open.

    Is it normal ? Once it has been opened, it loads normally. But if I restart, bingo, I'd better have a coffee.....

    Shorter authorization times are typical after the first start. Authorizatioins take place only once and are stored for as long as the app is open or the computer is booted. Close the app or restart the computer, and the authorizations have to be re-established.

    However, 15 minutes is a little unusual with the latest versions of the VI and Syncrosoft updates. Have you updated your software to the latest versions?

    You might want to check King Maya's thread about initial start times-- be sure to read through the entire thread since there was a 48 hour period in which several versions of Syncrosoft software were updated and removed quickly.

    please make sure you have the latest version of syncrosoft's license control center and ViennaInstruments software - this should reduce your startup time to 1-4 minutes (depending on your computer hardware and automatically loaded items).
    please note that also AU validation not related to VSL can increase this time.

    Thank you everybody for all those good advices.

    In fact, I installed everything on July 15th and did not make any update since then.
    So I will check if any new version has been made available for both VI plugin and Synchrosoft, but I keep in mind that AU validation makes it even longer... and my Logic autoload did include one iteration of VI, so I'd better removing it.
    Anyway, it is good to note that turning off computer makes reauthorization to happen again. I'll keep it on !

    The computer I use has no internet connexion at the moment, maybe it makes it even longer ??
