I remember some members here, like Nils, mentioned that we don't need to use Perfomance Tool to do legato mode if we have Kontakt 2.1.1 installed. But how about Alternative Mode and Repetition Mode?
Thanks in advacne.

Hi King,
Since I bought my VSL libraries around the time when the scripted programs were released I have never really installed the Performance Tool, but I have watched some videos presenting it. I don't think there are any Repetition Mode instruments included in Opus 1 or 2, so the Performance Tool is not needed for that (there are some fast repetitions but I don't think these are performance elements). Alternation Mode has been implemented using scripts but the script version is more limited than what's found in the Performance Tool - it's only possible to setup arbitrary sequences of up-bow/down-bow alternations. Eg. it's not possible to say that you want a staccato the first two notes and then a sustained note. However, I have written a third-party Alternation script which can do this.

Hi King,

sorry for jumping in so late....

Everything Nils said is correct, thereĀ“s no Performance Repetitions included in Opus 1&2, but for the other Horizon Series products that feature Performance Repetitions, the Repetition Mode is implemented into the scripted programs for Kontakt2.

Best,

Paul

PS: Thanks, Nils!

Thanks Nils and Paul.
Nils, I am interested in your alternation mode script. May I ask if you have a manual for me to learn how it works? You know, I am a newbie and really need some help.
Thanks.

Hi King,
Sorry, there's no more documentation than the compact reference available on that page. But once you get started it's quite simple. Feel free to ask if you have any specific question(s).
