  • VSL Midi Router reset option anywhere?

Whenever Sonar 6 crashes (which is a little too often for my tastes), it leaves the VSL Midi Router ports locked, and I have to fully reboot Windows to free them up. Is there some other way I can unlock the MIDI ports? Having to reboot is pretty big mood killer when you're right in the middle of working..ugh

    Thanks

  • midiports (also virtual ones) are system devices, so it's up to windows to remove any lock, try to logoff-logon to windows, this resets such type of devices (i've noticed this to be successful also when loosing a physical, especially USB-, midi-device) without the need to reboot.

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
  • Logoff/on beats a reboot.. I'll try it, thanks [:)]

  • Hi, Sam. Did you find an alternative solution to this problem? I'm still using the Performance Tool alongside my sequencer and hate rebooting as well. Total buzzkill. I'll try out the logout/login Windows trick (thanks cm!)

The main reason this is frustrating for me is that it takes quite some time to load up my orchestral templates into system RAM (legato patches.)

An ideal solution to this problem would be a way to reset the MIDI Router system process, yet keep all sample data loaded into the system RAM.

    Thanks!
