  • Appassionata in Pro Tools?

Really want to purchase this library. I've been able to use the Giga versions of older VSL libraries while tracking in Pro Tools (Mac). Is there a way to use this VI without using Logic or DP? Thanks in advance.

  • Rinky, I far as I have heard they are still not there with the Rtas stuff and VI. The only way right now is to setup a PC (your giga machine) and use the VST of VI and track back into PTs. I have setup 2 PC's with VST's and it wasn't bad. I used to be a Logic user on all my projects but I'm pretty wrapped up in PT now so its hard to go back just to use the AU versions of VI. Maybe someone one can give a better update then myself.

  • Hi Rinky,

of course a PC is not the only way to use the Vienna Instruments, you can also set up a Mac and host the AUs there (in Plogue Bidule or in RAX).

  • Opps, or another Mac as well... [[;)]]

  • Thanks for the response guys..... I do have that PC that I use the Giga for, and another mac as well that I can slave. Problem is, I need to know how to do this step by step so if one of you can provide a link that will walk me through this process I think I would be a happy musician (since I spend a lot of time being a computer tech, unfortunately). Any input greatly appreciated!

  • Hello Rinky,

    the procedure is quite simple:

All you need on a Slave machine is a Host for your virtual instruments...

If you are using your GigaStudio computer a lot with other libraries, I would suggest to use your second Mac as a slave computer, as GigaStudio and VST hosts tend to get in each others way.

You can also email me with your plans and wishes at p.steinbauer@vsl.co.at [:)]
