People's reaction to website design is by its nature highly subjective as can be seen from the responses, but Michael is correct that people are perfectly entitled to express their views particularly when they are genuinely supportive of the company and want to raise what they see as legitimate issues.
I fail to see what is "great design" about the excessive use of white space - see the screen paste below. This reminds me of the 'lowest common denominator" that Microsoft went for with Windows 8 across PCs and tablets. It meant people using PCs and laptops who wanted an efficient interface felt compromised.
As I scroll down this page it seems ridiculous that the main content is such as small % of the visible screen estate - maybe it looks different on a different OS or platform e.g. tablet (I'm Windows 7 / laptop).
If I didn't care about VSL and have such a high expectation of their work I wouldn't have bothered commenting and I fully accept that people will have different views, but personally I think it could be better.
