1.VE Pro 7.2.1481 experiencing dropouts 1/24/2023 1:04:23 AM

VE Pro 7 does require a working gigabit ethernet connection (=CAT6). CAT5 usually transfers 10/100 MBit. Best to check your connectivity status to see what transfer speeds you are working with.

Best regards,
Andreas

Small note, CAT5e is rated for Gigabit, the first iteration of CAT5 wasn't, but it hasn't been used a lot.  CAT6 is rated for 10Gigabit.

2.CC7 resets on project load 8/11/2022 4:40:57 PM

Hi Paul, fakemaxwell

I've managed to replicate the problem you're describing in Reaper, Studio One and Cubase in Windows 10.  It's worth noting that this might not happen with all Synchron libraries.  In my case, I tried Synchron-ized Special Edition 2 Chamber violins and it worked fine, but the problem is present in Big Bang Orchestra Altair.

Steps to reproduce:  (Windows 10 Pro, Synchron Player 1.2.124)

1 - Start empty project
2 - Load Synchron Player
3 - Load BBO-Altair Velxf-sus
4 - Raise CC7 to max
5 - Save Project then close it
6 - Open the saved project
7 - CC7 value will not have been saved and is set to default

3.Will you still be using VI libraries in the future? 5/22/2022 10:34:39 PM

I'll use VIPro+MIRx Teldex for as long as it works and I hope that it does for a very long time!

4.Launch server project from Finder? 11/24/2021 10:56:31 PM

I can confirm that on Mac, loading a .vesp64 file does not load the content of the server project.   On Windows 10, loading a vesp64 project loads everything.

This is on macOS 10.14.6 and Windows 10 20H2 with VEP7-1120

5.[SOLVED] Instances get focus with mixer view... 11/24/2021 10:31:42 PM

-UPDATE-

Happy to report that 1120 on Windows 10 has fixed the issue for me.  Now the instances are focused on the instrument rather than the mixer view.

Thank you VSL devs, you guys are amazing!

6.[SOLVED] Instances get focus with mixer view... 11/24/2021 10:16:57 PM

Hi Paul!

Sorry I didn't supply the information, this was on Windows 10, most recent version of VEP7 (1113 at the time of the original thread, although I noticed a new version (1120) was pushed today)

I don't have the VEP project at hand at the moment but will send once I'm back at my computer.

Thanks!

-EDIT-

1120 has fixed this issue for me

7.[SOLVED] Instances get focus with mixer view... 11/24/2021 3:30:01 AM

This didn't use to happen before...  Now each time I call focus to the instance, it shows in mixer view-I hit F4 to get back to instrument view, change the next instance to instrument view as well and go back to the one I previously changed and it's still back...in mixer view again!

I prefer seeing my instruments because I want to manage my VIPro starting articulations, any workarounds? was this caused by the last update or do I need to look at an option I overlooked?

Many thanks!

-EDIT-

v1120 has fixed the issue for me on Windows 10

I use Splashtop, free and much better than RDP or any VNC.
10.Master vs slave vep pro7 8/25/2020 1:51:16 PM

Fastest as slave (running VEP, hosting instruments) and slowest running your DAW

11.Vm1 app discontinued ? 5/12/2020 11:13:28 PM

Hi MML, I bought VM1 a while back but I can't find anywhere on your website's "My Account" where I can deauthorize a computer...

I had hoped I could manage this myself rather than contact you everytime I format a machine which is not uncommon.

12.Incredible loud noise blast / burst is back - killing ears / almost career and my monitors - any ide 3/7/2019 4:14:54 PM

This has happened to me in the past, since then I always keep a limiter on my master...  The last time it happened was while Play 6 was loading a patch.

The more serious issue is that down the road, we will be forced to upgrade.  That is mostly because of forced yearly MacOS updates by Apple that breaks compatibility, though less of a problem under Windows but no one knows if or when it will happen.

So the "what's the problem, keep using VEP6" statement is fine, but only *for now*.  There is also the fact that if this pricing scheme remains the same, every version of VEP will cost double to upgrade compared to what we signed up on initially.

Valid, but isnt this an issue with any software with paid software upgrades?

I've never had software with multi licenses or activations removed by upgrading to a new version, no.

Why don't you calm down first.  It is my/our right to be unhappy with this new licensing decision.  I paid for VEP because it had 3 licenses, I would never have bought it if it only had one and I'm definitely not upgrading to 7 with the current price plan.

I agree, my drawer is loading with 'older than 2 years' eLicensers as well...

18.Special Edition 1 - Final Fantasy VII Aerith 5/24/2017 4:35:26 AM

Hi all!

A song I rendered from the Final Fantasy VII midis from the PC version, all from Special Edition Vol. 1.  I used the original and added vel xfade curves.

I hope you like it!

19.Starting, trying to make good choices.. 4/28/2017 3:06:56 AM

You won't regret Special Edition 1, and if you can afford it go for the Special edition 1 Plus.  Since you already have an eLicenser for Cubase, you don't need to buy another one, you can put your Cubase, Vienna Instruments Pro 2 and Special Ed1, Special ED1+ all on one eLicenser.

20.What are those 3 vertical pLeg patches for? 4/3/2017 3:59:06 PM

Thanks Paul!

21.What are those 3 vertical pLeg patches for? 4/2/2017 11:51:34 PM

I always thought they had different legato transition lengths but upon looking in advanced view under legato start offset or stretch, I can't see anything.

I don't think it would make sense to put them there as placeholders since many cells are left blank or red if you don't own that extended patch.

22.What are those 3 vertical pLeg patches for? 4/2/2017 5:07:00 PM

Hi everyone,

I've always wondered what the 3 vertical pLeg patches are for, is there a difference between the 3?  I've checked the PDF manuals but I can't seem to find what they are for.

Thanks!

23.Vienna Ensemble looses connection with elicenser 10/5/2016 10:55:57 PM

This sounds like a USB selective suspend issue, part of Windows power management that shuts down USB ports to save power.

More on this from Steinberg:

24.where is the 32 bit server in VEP 6? 9/6/2016 11:59:38 AM

It uses the same executable for standalone and server.  The server shortcut has the '-server' parameter added.

25.Can't load Server Project in VE Pro 6 8/22/2016 1:12:49 AM

You'll have to specify which plugins you were using within your VEP instances, Kontakt, VSL, Play, etc. if you want some feedback...
