1.VE Pro audio muting when switching tracks in Cubase Pro 8 12/8/2014 4:36:38 AM

It appears that Cubase does this instantly, while a latency change reported to for instance Logic Pro, will only take effect from the next stop/play cycle - which sounds more reasonable to me.

We are looking into this behavior and will try to improve the situation asap.

You're not supposed to work on a Sunday Martin.

Thanks for looking into it! - Best G.

I suggested that some chaps from the  ViControl composer forum share experiences here as well.  My impression is that this will be the most pressing issue for all VePro / CP8 users out there to be solved.

3.Solved: Mavericks: Clean Install Problem 9/24/2014 3:54:45 PM

Hi,

I have the following problem: On Mac Mini with Mavericks the latest Version, no other host software like Logic or VST Instruments are installed, I installed VePro 5 from scratch.

Then I  installed Omnisphere from DVD onto an external HD.

When I startt now VePro5 as standalone, I can not load Omnisphere, VePro does not recognise or see it. In Preferences, Plugins, I have onöy two buttons, recan or rescan all, none of them will find Omnisphere.

How can I get VePro to see Omnisphere, becauase without being able to load it, I can not authorize Omnisphere, let alone use it.

Help much appreaciated.

Best

Georg

P.S. Running the Omnisphere updates solved this.

Doh...good idea... thanks! :)
5.Legal/technical question 1/10/2012 1:33:16 PM
Greetings,

I just sold my VSL licenses. However, I am a bit puzzled as to the following:

I have two vienna keys. I send the purchaser one key with the required VSL licenses. Now I have left one Vienna Key and one Korg Key. I kept the 1 vienna key as I still own VePro 5 and wish to use it.

The VSL licenses are also on the second key which I still hold. Obviously, as I am no longer license holder, I wish to 1. delete the license from the vienna key, and 2. all relevant files of the libraries in questions.

Here I am struggling to understand what the procedure is. Can anyone guide me what to do here?

Thanks
Georg

8.Automap 3.7.4 plus Alchemy Player 1.25 plus Omni= constant crash events 12/11/2011 1:42:52 PM
OSX 6.7, VEP latest....

Alchemy player 1.25, Omnisphere, latest, Automap 3.7.4

Using this in standalone 64 bit causes constant crashs on exit. I sent Error report to Paul already, just checking in to see everyone else experiences this.
9.Using VEP Pro5 to update VEP Pro4 11/29/2011 3:10:22 AM
Understood. Thanks Karel, I might just bite the bullet tomorrow. :)
10.Using VEP Pro5 to update VEP Pro4 11/28/2011 11:56:41 PM
Hi Karel,

I think this is not really needed, or is it from your point of view?

I am running Logic 9.1.1 and OSX 6.7 with VEPro 4 latest version without any glitches or hassle.

I just bought the VEPro 5, but reading here makes me more than reluctant to install it, especially if this renders my flawless Version 4 useless.

Why would you guys not allow to install side be side? I am not saying running 4 and 5 at the same time, but being able to install 5 without touching the 4.

Thanks Karel,

just for a better understanding, when you say fully mappable automation, do we talk full plugin automation here, say Omnisphere, Kontakt etc can be automated from within VePro 5?

Or am I dreaming? ;)
13.VEP 5 8/28/2011 8:39:32 PM
Nice surprise :) Hopefully midi tempo can be freely adjusted when not used with a host, so far in standalone everything runs with 120bpm and can not be adjusted.

Applaus! Very nicely done George Yongh!

The slick trailer on both is really superb.

Matter of taste all together, but I like the layout and presentation a lot, not convoluted and you can see at a glance how to navigate.
16.What's the Point? 4/13/2011 10:22:08 AM
That is a fantastic idea Guy.

I just had a chance to look at VI Pro last night [jaw dropping].

While Pauls excellent videos are a great help to get an overview and idea, it might be an idea as well to supply a few well layed out VIP presets as a starting point as well, perhaps using SE as a basis.

With the wealth of options available, it can be a little bit a daunting experience for a new user to find a start and create useful presets.

Having said that, a complex instrument such as VIP certainly requires a learning curve, time and effort to familiarize yourself with the options available. It is not as easy as say Symphobia style - plugin and play - but offers much more attention to details of course, hence needs expertise to handle it.

Off I go.... learning.... :)
17.Multiple multitimbral multioutputs in Vepro 3/1/2010 2:44:31 PM
Feeling really dumb here! LOL .....If I do that, say 8 Timbral. Logic creates 8 instruments in the arrange page Midi Channel 1-8, I connect Vepro on Midi Plugin Channel 1 (PORT). .....I do that again, another 8 Instruments are created, again midi channel 1 -8.... Here I connect the next Instance of VEPro on Midi plugin channel 2..... I hear nothing.... back later this evening.... have to walk the dog now.... Thanks anyways for helping to solve this puzzle. It really wrecks my head at the moment.
18.Multiple multitimbral multioutputs in Vepro 3/1/2010 1:21:52 PM
There is no explanation in the manual dealing with this situation at all. I am moving onto a logic forum with that question, it seems as if any Ports in VePro other than plugin midi channel 1 or Omni can not be used to record multi timbrals in Logic.....
19.Multiple multitimbral multioutputs in Vepro 3/1/2010 12:30:56 PM
I did Paul, but it does not deal with midi ports and mutiple instances. Again, the second multi timbral instrument hosting the second VEPro instance ist set to Midi channel 2, in VePro the Midi plugin channel is set to Midi channel 2 as well and midi out to ALL, I get no sound..... :o(
20.Multiple multitimbral multioutputs in Vepro 3/1/2010 11:53:52 AM
I tought I got it, but I don't. I opened another Logic Insturment, and in the inspector set midi channel to 2, now opened a new VePro connected also to 64 bit, and opened another omnisphere, and set midi port to 2. ....No sound.... I suppose the midi channel in the inspector of tge logic instrument is not the same as the midi plugin channel in VePro. What to do?
21.Multiple multitimbral multioutputs in Vepro 3/1/2010 11:34:02 AM
pheeew.... Now I got it!

It just means I have to open new VePro instances for each midi Port.

Thanks a lot!
22.Multiple multitimbral multioutputs in Vepro 3/1/2010 11:17:09 AM
Hi Paul,
Ok, I try to understand it like my 8x midi routers, each of the eight In and Out is one PORT, to which I connect one single keyboard, which itself has 16 midi channels available.
Practically this would mean that in one VEPro instance, it is not possible to load more than one Omnisphere or Kontakt other than sending on the same 16 channels. So I could use one 16 multitimbral instrument in Logic that is served by one instance of VePro. Using Kontakt and Omnisphere and Vienna Instruments in the same, would mean they all have to share the 16 channels.

Is it asking for trouble, if say some of them are played over the same channel?
Then I suppose, loading another VePro instance onto another Logic multitimbral Instrument, using VePro plugin midi channel 2 (Port), and Logic midi channel 2 is the way to do it.
Hold on, or does that mean there is only that SINGLE Port available in Logic? That can't be, or can it?

I am afraid I am still not 100% certain here.... LOL
P.S. What was that line break carriage return sign again the bracket B bracket is obvisouly for bold characters.
23.Multiple multitimbral multioutputs in Vepro 3/1/2010 2:24:50 AM
Hey..... ! Thanks so much!!!! I was questioning my sanity already. Sound like a strange limitation to me. Then again, I am totally new to Logic.....So in real life, you would add another Instrument, plugin another VePro for the second Omnisphere on Midi channel 2, right? That means, openeing a VePro instrument as a multitimbral in Logic makes no sense. Really confusing.
24.Multiple multitimbral multioutputs in Vepro 3/1/2010 12:41:31 AM
I know, lots of multis. I am struggling to setup Ve Pro Templates in Logic 9, let me explain. I think I know how to use Omnisphere or Kontakt with VePro, what I do is start VePro64 in Logic as a 8 channel instrument, and load Omni in VePro, set plugin midi channel to 1 and out to ALL, then add Input channels for the individual outs to be able to see them as AUX in the Logix Mixer. So far so good, but when I load another Omnisphere instance in the same VePro, and change plugin Midi channel to 2, and go to the second Logic Instrument slot which is aslo midi channel 2, I can not get any sound. The only way to get sound from the second instance is to se plugin midi channel to all, which I do not want, because then the first omni instance is triggered as well. Where am I messing up here?- Thanks!

Thanks for the info Paul. ---- I imagine, not knowing for sure, but this could easily be one of the most desired features for many. ---- Even a basic automation of a subset of parameters would be very cool.

I can only speak for myself of course. But I refrain from switching entirely to snowleopard for now, may be after June, when Adobe CS5 emerges, which is important for me.

Have a nice weekend!
Georg
