1.VEPro 6-7 loading extremely slow SOLVED 5/12/2022 8:33:22 PM

That's a great idea, Paul. Late to the party here but it is all about reading between the lines and finding solutions. I will do this for the other issue too. Maybe it makes some things clear.

It turns out is was WINDOWS 10 antivirus scanning the samples while Kontakt was loading.  I thought it was disabled.  After adding exceptions to all my sample drives and Kontakt file extentions.  Bingo!

Well this includes a recommendation for the VEP developers here. ^^ because other software provides a dialogue on install asking if exception rules should be added to the system *hint*. This is a known Windows behavior many developers provide solutions for their software. I can imagine that running VEP as server will even trigger this issue twice: for the samples but also for the localhost connection the server runs on. Humbled over this thread here while I was searching for solutions for our possible issues here in a new facility with newly installed VEP 7 loading and saving extremely slooooow. (10 minutes ++) (read more here about our problem)

3.Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 Server 64bit saving slowly and being unresponsive by 12% CPU load 5/12/2022 5:33:50 PM

Well ... no difference, Apart from that I found out that happens also by such global tasks like "disable all samples" ... it freezes for many minutes ...

4.Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 Server 64bit saving slowly and being unresponsive by 12% CPU load 5/12/2022 5:20:26 PM

Issue reported was with VEP version 7.0.1120 ... Testing with 7.0.1113 now ...

5.Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 Server 64bit saving slowly and being unresponsive by 12% CPU load 5/12/2022 2:02:31 PM

We are not sure if this is a bug,  or is a "works as designed" or rather a "technical support request". That's why we choose to post it here before going into a support ticket scenario.

Running a Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 Server 64bit on a quite powerful studio machine which handles big score Pro Tools sessions on a daily basis (VEP newly installed) freezes temporary (getting greyed/whited out) after clicking "save server project". And the time it keeps freezing extends as more tracks are involved. Having a template of a full string section ready in only one instance (with MIR pro), saving takes over 5 minutes which feels too slow for me, since everything here runs on SSD and NVMe SSD inside the box and saving a 600k veps64 file can't take such a long time.. In this time there is nothing you can touch on it and it has this (not responding) in the title of the app window. No other programs are open and the Server isn't connected to any DAW yet and holds only one instance.

This smells fishy to me. Especially the greying out and that CPU load raises to 12%? By saving a preset file? I know from many projects that we have run lots of not user friendly loading times in different scenarios in our facilities, so my worries are not caused by not knowing that big thinks take long to load in the professional area. Our render farms take hours for film rendering. But in this case it seems not in the right proportion (ratio of loaded tracks and save time). I am not able to create and finish an orchestra template since days because of that.

Is this an individual use case or is this a known issue or do I miss something here? All ideas and help would be much appreciated since we still are not able to start the set ups we need here in this new facility.

Thanks in advance and all the best.

6.NEW: "MIR Unprocessed" mixer presets for SYNCHRON-ized products! 5/12/2022 1:44:14 PM

We just added new mixer presets to all SYNCHRON-ized products (including our SYNCHRON-ized Special Editions). which makes it more comfortable to integrate those instruments with MIR Pro.

The whole Synchron Player mixer is reset for this purpose, so that you're ready to apply the MIR magic to dry samples.

What is reset?

  • EQ
  • Impulse Response
  • Algo Reverb
  • Panorama
  • Volume

Find all SYNCHRON-ized Library Updates in MyVSL and the changelogs here.

Best,
Paul

Old thread but I wonder about the product lines side by side now, since the reason to purchase the VI series was to get the dry recorded samples for more flexibility. But now it looks like both products are the same then? Or are they still sounding different. Are they still recorded on different stages?
