Here is what I do to make it load:

1. Right click the VEP icon in the dock and select QUIT

2. Hit cancel on the warning popup instead Quit

3. It starts loading.

I can replicate this every single time without fail. It is VEP related. Sent a couple suggetions to tech support about this bug.

Yes, thank you. The first really usefull solution.

2.VE Pro 6/ disable Bus Channel Audio Engine stop working 4/6/2017 9:03:09 PM

Hi,

When I disable one Bus every channel stops working (even no Midi) wich has a Send (pF) assinged to that Bus.

When I remove the send in the channel it works.

I´ve tried different routings but allways the same effect.

I find it usefull disabling the whole bus to save much more processing power than muting the Bus and bypass the Reverb.

Thanks

Stephen

3.[announcement] Vienna Ensemble Pro 4.0.4834 (Public Beta) 1/18/2010 4:30:10 AM

Hi,

anyone experience with Midi sync with VE Pro 4834 as stand alone on a Slave PC.

Kontakt 4 does not sync to incoming Midi Clock. I´m using MidiOverLan.

Thanks

Stephen

4.MIDI clock for plugins in VE Pro 1/9/2010 3:49:47 PM

New Year, good news!

Thanks

5.MIDI clock for plugins in VE Pro 12/31/2009 3:42:20 AM

...five.....

last night I was trying to get the new Kontakt 4 in sync on one of my three VEPro Slaves, but I had to realize that it doesn´t recive any Midi clock.

For some projects I don´t need that big orchestration and I have free capacity on that slaves for other stuff like Kontakt and Omnishere or Kore Player.

I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Stephen

6.VE Bus noise 7/29/2009 3:20:29 AM

Hi Paul,

I did some testing this evening. First of all I updated my RME HDSP card. The card is set to 6ms, ext wordclock (Big Ben). All my PC´s are very basic Win XPx64, VE2, MoL, nothing else. (no internet or email)

I initiallized a new setup with 8 Instruments and 2 Busses. All Instr. have two sends (bus 1&2) set to 0.0db, pre fader, all outputs go to HDSP 1/2. NO INSRUMENT LOADED NOW!

Than I loaded only ONE Sound in Instr. 1. ( Orch. Strings, long notes). Now I can listen to the sound through the Instrument channel and/or through the bus. Now I can compare the outputs by muting. The sound should be the same at the instrument or at the bus output. BUT the sound through the bus is added with that crackling noise. The noise sounds similiar to a clock problem.

When I reset  the send of the unloaded instruments to ∞ the noise disappeares.

So, the more sends are opened, the more noise I get, with sounds loaded or not.

I also found out, when I route the Insruments outputs direccly to the bus, it seems ok. Like subgroups. That was different in the previous version (when I remember my first workaround, I´m not really shure)

So now, I´m shure, it is not really a bus problem. It´s a send Problem!! Seems like thomething in the mixer is wrong. It really sound like a internal clock problem. Sometime you hit a sustained note it seems ok, but by hitting it again it is full of digital ckacks.

I made some mp3´s of that noise, but I don´t know how to post them.

Im wondering that only some people have this issue, because it is so obvious when you start using the mixing possibillities in VE2 and the convolution reverb in a standard configuration. I searched the forum since convolution reverb came out and I suddently got this noise. But nobody seems to have this problem. But now I´m not alone. ;-)

so far……Bye

Stephen

7.VE Bus noise 7/28/2009 1:00:17 AM

Hi Paul,

me again, just to explain my setup........

I´m using 3 PC´s as Slaves, all very similar (Intel core 2 Quad, 2.4Ghz, 8GB Ram, ASUS P5W-DH Deluxe, XPx64, RME 9652), VE2 as standalone( 3711).

All are controlled by MidiOverLan from my Mac G5 PPC Dual 2Ghz.

I sill have this Bus noise discribed in my first post on all three machines as I tested today.

My VE2 setups have about 20 Instruments each. I must say that I use these setups since VE2 came out and developed them step by step. Just when the convolution Reverb came out I added two Busses and than I reaized this Noise exactly in this proceedure I discibed in my first post.

When I have time I will initiallize a new setup, add Instruments and busses and see when this noise starts.

Maybe this helps.

should I send you my setups?

Bye

Stephen

8.VE Bus noise 7/27/2009 2:15:15 AM

Hi there,

I just updated to the latest version only on one of my slave PC(Intel core 2 Quad, 2.4Ghz, 8GB Ram, ASUS P5W-DH Deluxe, XPx64, RME 9652)

The noise in the Bus is still there :-((

Very sad.......Very sad.......Very sad.......Very sad.......Very sad.......

Bye

Stephen

9.Crackling Sound in Audio from External Drives 7/25/2009 2:47:32 AM

Hi,

I have the same problem. See this tread:

http://community.vsl.co.at/forums/t/21575.aspx

I didn´t tested the new update and I hope they fixed it as Paul said.

Otherwise the Convolution Reverb is pretty useless when you can´t use the Buss.

Bye

Stephen

Hi Paul,

good to know, that is not my mistake.

Thanks

Stephen

11.VE Bus noise 5/9/2009 3:35:27 AM

Hi,

I get serious didital kracks only in the return channel (bus) when i try to route instruments through that bus, for using it may be whith the new reverb. Even when there is no Fx in the return channel. It´s just a simple pre fade into bus mixing configuration. For testing the instrument channel itself was mutet.

I use two identical PC´s for all my Vienna Stuff. Intel core 2 Quad, 2.4Ghz, 8GB Ram, ASUS P5W-DH Deluxe, XPx64, RME 9652.

The one I have the problems with is just doing Strings. My idea was to give all the instruments the same amount of reverb by setting all the sends to 0.0 ( unity gain).

The thing is, the more channels (instruments) I set the send´s, the more digital noise I get in the return. But I just playing one instrument. I using about 28 insruments in VE as stand alone(5,6GB used). Even when I route the instrument itself to a bus I get the krackling noise. Depending how much send´s I setted.

RME Buffer is 256. Changing it has no effect.

On the other PC it  seems to be OK, but i don´t use that much instruments on that.

I´m using all of the Vienna´s for years, allways up to date, never had problems like that. But I never used the Bus, because there was no need.

Someone any idea?

Thanks

Stephen

12.WIN XP64 + VI Ensemble.....list eq plug-ins that are available and work...thanx 12/4/2007 2:59:00 AM
Hi, does any plugin work in VE at all ?

I have two PC slave machines, 64xp and 32xp. 8 and 4 GB. Most of my Plugins work in forte on the 32xp machine, but none in VE. On the 64xp machine some in forte and none in VE.

????

13.Vienna Ensemble! Host or not Host? 10/30/2007 2:37:46 AM
I´m sorry, it´s great, everything.

But where the Inputs?

I would like to use my outboard Reverbs (Lexicon, ect.) via Adat with my RME Soundcard.

I tought, VE could be the next step to FORTE.

One step forwards, and two step back.

Stephen

14.Vienna Ensemble - WinXP 64Bit - 8 GB Ram - more than 100,000 samples loaded 10/27/2007 4:09:11 AM
Alles super!!!! But......

What about a AUX input, to use outboard REV and other features of my soundcard (RME HDSP)?

Best wishes from Stephen

15.GigaStudio 3.12 "Unknown Error" 3/5/2006 10:46:51 PM
I had this problem too. I tried everything, until I build a completely new system and it was stil there.
Than i found out: If I was building up a new Quicksound database it allways gets stuck on certain files (there were on an ext firewire drive) and they were twice on the whole system ( one on the internal drive and one on the external).
The Quicksound searching finishes after a very long time.
When you than load an old Perf. you get this error by this double files (which has nothing to do with that Memory error, it different).
So I took a look at the ADVANCED settings in QS. You can specify folders and drives to serch in or not. After that it needs a whole run. And I think it has a reason that its there.
It never happend again so far ( We will see ).
Good Luck
