1.VEP Pro Tools and Windows - Keyboard Focus Bug 2/25/2022 3:54:40 AM

And I know it doesn't behave this way on Mac

2.VEP Pro Tools and Windows - Keyboard Focus Bug 2/25/2022 3:53:08 AM

Whenever I have to manually type the server and instance into the VEP plugin because it didn't see it, the Pro Tools shortcuts are active while I type, meaning all kinds wacky stuff happens (like when you type an "E" it resizes the track where the cursor is)

I don't recall it always being like this?

3.Limit VEP Advertising To One Subnet 2/23/2022 6:25:43 AM

4.Limit VEP Advertising To One Subnet 2/22/2022 1:49:27 AM

Hi

I'm wondering if I can prevent VEP from offering a connection on my Internet subnet (192,168.1.x) inside the plugin and only display my direct subnet (10.0.1.x)

Just cluttered looking

5.Deacent computer networked with VEP 7 sounds cracking ? 9/23/2020 4:57:35 PM

Hi kokoa

Most likely the buffer size in your daw needs to be increased or you need to up the buffer count in the plugin instance. This can be found in the upper-right corner of the plug-in instance in your DAW.

With the exception of some beastly dual cpu machines I've built for composers, I generally have to keep it at a minimum of 256 in my DAW and often 3 or 4 buffers depending on the instance and how instruments are set up inside.

Hope this helps!

6.Support Email Being Returned Due To File Size 8/13/2020 12:05:03 AM

Hey Ben/Paul

Trying to send a crash dump, it's only 18 megs but your mail service is sending it back for being over the 24 MB file size?

7.Paul et al., It's Time To Reword the Manual 6/13/2020 5:20:37 PM
That’s great to hear Paul, not surprised and anticipate sharing this change.

@Paolo: sorry you feel that way. I see it as encouragement, don’t know which part you read as remotely “threatening” and absolutely nowhere did I accuse VSL or Paul of supporting slavery, good god! (are you trying to out-faux-outrage here or something?) There is a two-sentence derision towards typical conservative dissent on this topic as an assurance of support— and I feel zero shame in disregarding regressive perspective outright on this topic. If that’s the part that upsets you, your priories are questionable at best.
8.Paul et al., It's Time To Reword the Manual 6/13/2020 6:09:02 AM

Dear Paul and all of VSL

Let's talk terminology. For some reason I had gotten it in my head that VSL had joined many of us in the tech world in moving away from the Master/Slave terminology to Client/Server (or Host/Server). While seeing the usual discussions taking place elsewhere, I came over here to grab proof from the latest manual, but lo-and-behold-- it still uses the terms Master/Slave.

Now, I'm sure a bunch of rotund mouth-breathing conservatives are going to see this post and say "the liberals are at it again." Do you really care about what these people think? You seem like good people. It's an easy fix! Go for it. Your product is such an integral part of the media composer landscape, think of the impact you could make!

I mean the typo "vomputer" appears in the latest manual anyway, so you need to hop in and fix that anyway. While you're there, make a statement.

Thanks

P.S. If this post offends anybody, you can kick rocks. I'm not here to waste time debating you, just raise the issue.

Hi, I do not think that's too critical for all the WW-Solo-Istruments. There are good possibilities to "play" runs and trills (especially with the flute1 and all clarinets).
Dynamic Scale-Runs are more difficult to "play" when it comes to Ensembles. Here I agree that the runs of the Orchestral Strings are just "Gold"!

programming a good run takes much much longer than time stretching the appropriate scale run patch and using a CC/keyswitch for up or down-- especially if you have BPM time stretch lengths already saved! I could program something like the opening to to Pines of Rome much faster than someone doing it your way.

they are 100% essential if you need to create good mockups quickly.

HOLD IT, Hold It, hold it....

Time Out.

Of all the patches NOT to include... in a reprogrammed WINDS LIBRARY--

You leave out the scale runs!?!?!? That's like... the best part of the classic VSL Winds Library! That's the hardest thing to program when it comes to winds. But that's what you guys had over everyone else! Whenever I visit with other film composers at their studios and we talk libraries, everyone says they keep VSL Winds around for the runs!

I'm not trying to dump on you guys here but... this company has been taking really odd steps with it's library side. The software is amazing though so I suppose you can afford to since everyone depends on VEP, but boy when those super cheese grater macs come out and people start debating if they want to run sample farms, you're going to have think long and hard about your libraries. Who is this stuff for!? I just don't get it clearly.

11.VI Pro: Stretch Folder Bin Files-- HUGE DISK SPACE! 6/23/2019 5:58:46 AM

Thanks Paul!

12.VI Pro: Stretch Folder Bin Files-- HUGE DISK SPACE! 6/23/2019 1:31:24 AM

Hey so uh.... what are these BIN files in the Stretch folder in App Data? They are taking up like 33 gigs on my main drive (pic attached)

Also: can I redirect this entire folder to be located on my samples drive or does this need to be located on my OS drive?

Thanks!

13.AVAILABLE NOW: Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 5/18/2019 8:32:03 PM

Hi Paul

Posting this again, hoping you'll respond this time.

Kontakt looks very buggy in VEP 7, image attached.

14.AVAILABLE NOW: Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 5/7/2019 10:06:56 PM

KONTAKT acting very buggy inside VEP7 -- anybody else getting this?

Can't click around inside GUI's, this one (EXHALE from Output loads up completely glitched out, picture below)

15.[SOLVED] Synchron Player -- Only Keyswitches? 4/15/2019 4:11:53 PM

From all the promo materia around Synchron, I see the tree is only working by keyswitch, does it not also allow you to switch articulations by CC0/CC32 like VI Pro ?

NEVERMIND! Didn't realize I had the manual in available

16.String Library With Ricochet? 4/15/2019 4:07:54 PM

17.Anyone Have A Nice Long Portamento VIP2 Curve? 4/1/2019 2:28:52 AM

has anybody created a curve for strings (for Dimension Strings) for a nice long portamento between notes that they'd like to share?

18.VEP 6 glitching and lagging 3/14/2019 6:00:55 AM

yup same dude. i actually just switched up from VEP 5 which had zero issues and now with 6 it's laggy af with Pro Tools and causes crashes on session close.

Honestly, I'm thinking there's a reason they're coming out with VEP 7 so quickly after 6 when 5 was around for years. Kind of like how Windows was like "Yeah 8 was our bad, sorry guys here's 10 (don't ask about 9)."

19.EXT. MIDI In VEP 6 3/13/2019 1:45:37 AM

Well? Anyone got this working?

20.VEP 6 Doesn't Stay Active In Tray WINDOWS 3/11/2019 11:52:39 PM

VEP 5 would stay active in the tray when you closed it out from the taskbar-- is there a preference setting I'm missing?

21.Will VEP 6 Open VEP 5 Projects? 2/23/2019 10:37:56 PM

If I have sessions with VEP 5 frames, will it transfer easily to VEP6?

22.Ext. MIDI Ports into VEP (5) 2/23/2019 10:15:04 PM

23.Ext. MIDI Ports into VEP (5) 2/9/2019 8:09:18 PM

Has anybody successfully set up external MIDI ports in VEP?

I'm testing it using both physical and virtual MIDI ports, they work out of Pro Tools but VEP get's no signal.

I do get a message in VEP 5 that it's a beta feature... was this smoothed out in 6?

24.Program Changes for Patches 2/5/2019 11:57:29 PM

I cannot seem to figure out how to get this working! I've looked into the VI Pro 2 manual, and maybe I missed it but the only thing about using Program Changes is to switch matrices (not working either but that's another story).

How can I set up the patches to switch by program change?

25.SYNCHRON-ized Dimension Brass I&II 11/3/2018 10:05:37 PM

Hi Paul

I'm a little confused about what comes in which package for upgrades and the cost difference.

Mainly, the upgrade to SYNHRON-ized DB for owners of I&II is much cheaper than those who only own DB I, but it doesn't seem to come with the additional muted ensemble that you get from DB II, so I don't quite get this price difference.

It DOES appear, however, that SYNCHRON-ized includes the new extended articulations, is that correct? I.e., buy upgrading to SYNCHRON-ized DB, you are getting all full the DB articulations to date but also with the new SYNCHRON player capabilities etc... Is that correct?
