I believe I found the answer...If VE Pro is hosting Play 4.1.6 in a non-decoupled instance it takes ruffly 10 seconds to save the session with 7.5 at least for me(I have a rather large template) and with VE Pro hosting Play 3.0.47 it only takes about 2 seconds.

I just installed a fresh new windows 7 64 and installed all the same software. Everything is basically the same, it works great again... except now when I save in Cubase it takes about 10 seconds to save the session, when before it only took a few seconds. The same instances are decoupled/preserved, and I'm wondering if its just a setting I haven't set yet in VE Pro.

I have 6 instances 3 decoupled and 3 not. Everything is the same. Please help.

How much latency is there in a slave PC to a master PC if the slave hosts 15GBs of RAM?

But I open VE Pro first...then open up Pro Tools or Cubase. I save VE Pro as a metaframe. I think Pro Tools and Cubase just saves how many outs and ins to VE Pro not acutally VE Pro data. If it did I don't know how it would bring that up. Any thoughts?

Stand alone, or in Pro Tools or in Cubase VE Pro always makes saving in either or 30+ seconds. That not a lot but if auto save is on which I want that adds up to very impatient composing.

How many of you have latency issues, when playing the piano over Ethernet with VE Pro? Its not horribly bad but it definitely is noticeable. Is this the norm for VE Pro over LAN?

DG was great in explaining that each instance of PLAY, in one instance of VE Pro can be routed to an individual audio track in Cubase. But to even have more control over where sounds go I would like to use the output changer in each PLAY instance to route specific instruments to specific places.

Any thoughts, experiences.

Oh wow, that is really powerful. I thought my whole instance of VE Pro was going to have to be broken up into many instances in order for me to freeze all strings/perc/brass/woodwinds/electronic sounds etc. into separate takes in order to be mixed properly in Pro Tools. I am using Cubase btw(I guess its the industry standard for composing) good guess :) My template is almost done now. Thanks so much guys. Is it possible to route VE Pro's sends(Net3/Net4) back into the host sequencer(DAW)?

I'm thinking if you have more instances on the server it will utilize more cores/threads better but if everything is on just one instance maybe it will over load or something.

Any thoughts?

If there isn't an option I'm missing then they should really put that on the next update.

I just Watched youtube video after youtube video and they have the camera interviewing the composer just far enough that I can't make out the DAW. I can see enough that its not Pro Tools. I think most of them are Cubase but they could be sonar or logic too? Maybe even digital performer.

My question is what is the industry standard for film composing? Because all those composers were using the same software. I just couldn't tell what it is. What is a DAW interface that looks like Cubase?

Also should you run your cable through a router or switch or directly from PC to PC? How long can the cable be?

I ordered a Cubase Key yesterday to try it out. I have 2 i7 computers with 24GBs of 1600 ram and want to stream samples from one slave to the other and as of right now bidule doesn't work with PLAY at all. I understand you don't officially support PLAY yet, but first lets just see if it can stream Omnisphere or RMX.
