1.Interesting, bell sounds need no alt samples? 7/30/2007 8:37:28 PM
I encountered this phenomena myself. I think it's because in reality each hit on these high tuned instruments sounds very similar to the last one. The only variation in tone is different velocities, which vsl provides.

Just my guess.
2.Strings for...... disco ! 5/21/2007 1:29:57 PM
I think Sebastien doesn't mean the synths, there ARE real strings in Jamiroquai songs. I think they are rather small string sections.

Justus
3.Instrument Range Chart with Hertz Grid 5/15/2007 3:14:16 PM
Thank you very much!
Cool that it's in German Confused

4.My first time with samples, Ravel - Sleeping Beauty 5/6/2007 9:58:26 PM
Very good job for the first time.
But there's way too much reverb on top (you might have recognized it after hearing the piece the next day; sometimes you need fresh ears Wink)
Good use of instruments nevertheless.
Which edition did you use?

Regards,
Justus

9.'Jump on into the fight' 12/3/2006 9:54:58 PM
i would rather go with this one:

10.Musical thanks for the Concert Organ 11/15/2006 9:48:41 PM

Keep up the good work!

Händel rulez!!!

Gruß
Michael
11.Musical thanks for the Concert Organ 11/15/2006 6:22:39 PM

I once learned that an addition of signals with the same level results in a peak of +3dB.

17.The Podcast 7/2/2006 9:30:30 PM
Congratulations for your very enjoyable show, Hetoreyn!
It's a great possibility to hear other people's works and to discuss composing and mixing techniques.
I'm looking forward to the next one!!

Regards,
Justus

PS: Some people unfortunately tend to pronounce their opinions in a too direct and hurting way.
18.The VSL Podcast .. Show 4 6/2/2006 5:13:40 PM
Please listen to the piece "Follow me" on the same site. It's wonderful!

PS: Yes, the Solo trumpet is lovely as far as I know (I don't have Emerald, just listened to the demos)
19.The VSL Podcast .. Show 4 6/2/2006 1:30:24 PM
Hi everybody,

thank you hetoreyn for the great Podcasts.
i know the piece "Return to Alanda" from http://www.kirkhunterstudios.com/v2demos.html played with KHSO Emerald of course. If you're interested in Emerald a comparison might be useful.

Regards,
Justus

PS: I live near Hamburg, BTW
20.New Epic String Library development - get Thomas J involved! 5/24/2006 6:55:55 PM
Unfortunately I lost Thomas Bergersens string demo named "1.mp3" and it's no longer on the server. This demo was so beautiful and so amazingly realistic. Does anybody have this demo or know another link?
Thanks

Shalom,
Justus
21.Problems with velocity switching in Halion 3/4/2006 2:08:48 PM
Justus wrote:
I have another problem with the "modwheel blend" patches. As you play a note at lowest velocity (Modwheel Down) you can hear a piece of the note played at high velocity. It's quite hard to notice in some patches, because it's very short and at the start of a note.
I solved this problem by fading the note via volume faders, which isn't too satisfying.

Can anybody give me a hint?

BTW: I use Halion Player (Is there a similar problem with Halion 3?)

Best regards,
Michael

Some news?

22.Interesting new tool: AMP 1/25/2006 8:42:44 PM
Right, that was my thought as well. Smile
For those who can not afford the VI it could be an alternative / improvement to the Legato Tool.

OT: Do you have experience with FX Freeze or FX Teleport /Gigaport?

Regards,
Michael

Interesting, isn't it?
I wonder why the VSL guys didn't come up with something like this.

Michael
24.Percussion? 1/11/2006 10:52:49 PM
Speaking of MIR:
In the demo videos I missed a chapter about MIR.
Wasn't it integrated yet? Does it work in the background?
How much can you manipulate?
25.old products like Opus 1 + 2 still supported in future? 1/11/2006 10:41:31 PM
Stopping the support wouldn't be typical for VSL, I guess!
Opus3 would be nice Big Smile
