Hello Paul,

a Facebook-picture ("Composing-Me-New Libraries") promised new Libraries for Black Friday.

Will there be a 3rd Stage?

Thanks & Greetings,

Lars

Thank you Andi.

4.Synchron Percussion III - Introduction 10/11/2021 3:25:02 PM

Hi All,

how detailed did you record the Windchimes?
Are there only Glissandi up and down or also Singletones that you can play on the Keys?

Thanks.

5.?Complete Symphonic Cube, or Switch to Synchron? 10/7/2021 5:39:16 AM

I am leaning to just completing the VI Cube, and adding some Big Bang libraries.

Thanks!

Hi,

I would not buy VI in general anymore. The reasons are obvious and do not have to be explained. Synchron is the future ... VI is ... „still there“ :) ...

The only thing which is really missing ... a SY Player Pro ...

(... with hopefully a better Time Stretch-Performance. Literally NO ONE is able to manage bigger Projekts with this Time Stretch CPU-Killer. First I thought it was me or my computer. But the Library Testers on YouTube (With the latest PCs and Macs) are unhappy too.)

6.MISSION COMPLETED: Moving from eLicenser to iLok 7/26/2021 7:05:41 PM

A wish for the huge upcoming reinstallation within the ILOK switch ...

Please allow us to install everything without directing each single download. No one has so much time.

Best Case would be a complete Installation overnight

Thanks.

7.Synchron Woodwind 7/11/2021 7:05:17 AM

Hi, yes WW and in particular a SY Harp would make this series pretty complete. Bravo VSL!

8.MIR 3D 5/25/2021 10:42:13 AM

Woahh, cool!

But from Graphic Card side 2-4 GB are still OK?

EDIT: BTW ... Not long ago I told you that MIR looks like a Software that "wants to be touched" ... :) ... Thats it!

9.MIR 3D 5/23/2021 6:24:30 PM

Cool

I find this so disturbing because VI is the best sample library in existence for orchestral composers who want to create their own sound, create their own orchestra.  It allows direct access to the rawest sound of music - the actual performance, unsullied by any processing, on the Silent Stage, of the great musicians of Vienna. This can be done at the PATCH LEVEL allowing total control, easily accomplished within the excellent software of Vienna Instruments.  And then you can place that into any imaginable reverb or environment with flawless integration, including that masterpiece of software, MIR.

Load an articulation. Play.  Load another and switch with a key. Play. It is simplicity itself.  Then save your own unique combo. It allows you to create the EXACT INSTRUMENTS you want, not some big menu-driven, impossible-to-understand monstrosity that forces you to focus on computer programming instead of MUSIC!

I feel so strongly about this because I've incorporated VI into my basic music thought process. You can think about the articulations needed in a composition, and they are THERE!  Not in some huge preset with all these hidden variables that you HAVE TO USE PROPERLY  OR ELSE! - but every patch right there simply and ready to use directly, based on what the musicians actually did.

This is the great accomplishment of VSL, beyond any other libraries - they captured the beautiful sounds of great musicians in an orchestra purely and cleanly.  And they did it without any processing beyond just assembling the note performances. That is so great it cannot be overstated.  It is the Zen of sampling. It is the utter simplicity yet greatness of pure music.  It is what was always most needed in sampling but never existed until VSL.  And it has been done brilliantly and with total access by anyone using VI.

VSL is not making as much money with simply selling samples because everybody and his brother now has a sample library.  But they are garbage compared to Vienna Instruments and must not be allowed to destroy it!

Vienna Instruments must continue because it is the purest and most powerful digital music performance in existence.

Relax, William. I heard that the VI Player keeps. But new features will not be implemented anymore.

However, I like the Synchron Player. Especially since I use it with an anti-glare touchscreen.

And who knows ... I could imagine that we will see a SY Player Pro which probably has Features like from another star ... pushing all existing SY Libraries to new Levels!

11.SY Player & Presonus Studio One - Prolific two-way communication! 3/11/2021 2:09:11 PM
Thanks for the answer, Paul.

If I should buy S1 I will test It and give some Info about that.

Edit: The Remote App is Windows-compatible - Wow!That is cool!
12.SY Player & Presonus Studio One - Prolific two-way communication! 3/11/2021 12:43:59 PM

Hello Peeps,

Studio One recently made me curious anyway because it is a Multi-touch compatible Program if you use it on such a display.

One question about that. When you open a 3rd-party PlugIn like the Synchron Player in Studio One ... can you touch several faders of the PlugIn at the same time just because you use the Synchron Player in Studio One? Or must VSL provide this functionality?

Thanks and Greetings,

Lars

Hello Herb,

that's a fantastic decision. Ilok is so much better in Hardware and Software.

Stichwort Lizenzdaten-Wildwuchs ... This could be an opportunity to clean up License Data ... maybe on Bundle-basis.

Thanks.

Best,Lars

15.MIR & Multitouch 12/30/2020 11:52:38 PM

Hi Dietz!

16.MIR & Multitouch 12/19/2020 3:41:29 PM

Hello again,

thank you Dietz. These displays are finding their ways in many Studios at the moment and have already many convinced fans. I have to say that I always saw MIR as a Software that „wants to be touched“. And touching „the real thing“ (the Software as it is) is so much more exciting than having a separate touch-app on a tablet for me. Why should you use a „Software for the Software“ ... if you can concentrate on the real thing!

For changing the icons-positions I would use only one finger anyway since the change needs to be calculated. But I was more about using multiple fingers on the Icon-Faders. (And of course multiple fingers on all other faders ... be it the ones of Cubase, the SY-Player or VE Pro.)

No need to investigate this Dietz! I just thought you were curious and tested it already.

Thanks.

17.MIR & Multitouch 12/18/2020 9:24:29 PM

Hello Dietz,

does MIR and it’s Icons work with Multitouch-Displays like this one (please see the Link)? I use Windows 10  and want to use Multitouch-Displays from now on.
The question is specific about „MULTI“touch = touching f.ex. 2 Icons at the same time.

Thanks in advance.

That‘s interesting.

Since the WT will not make the race ... is there a powerful Wagner Tuba Ensemble you can recommend?

19.Why not a subscription plan? 11/9/2020 6:42:32 AM

Spitfire proves that it is possible to reinvent themselves over and over again with „a next big thing and then a next bigger thing“. And it works. I don’t know why but the people keep buying. It works.

From the day Eastwest had the Subscription Plan they had only a few new releases. Good ones but less than VSL or Spitfire.

20.Syncron Strings Pro Yay!!! what next? 10/24/2020 8:11:27 PM

In terms of production time I would prefer smaller expansion packs for the SS Pro just like we got them with Lyra and Musca instead of more Big Packages. (Remember ... It took 3 years since the SS1 release until the SS Pro arrived.)

as an example:

- SS Pro con sordino (Basic Articulations)
- SS Pro divisi for 1rst Violins and Celli (Basic Articulations)

Less is more :) ... and SS Pro are a great Basis for Expansions.

When it comes to Solo Instruments for the Synchron Series my preferred „next Instrument“ is the Harp on the left side. The reason is obvious since it is an important part of the Orchestra.

When it comes to Ensembles for the Synchron Series ... I hope for FX Strings 2 with EVOLUTIONS-Textures and maybe different Types of playable Runs. And I do also hope for a bigger Package of the FX Woodwinds with some EVOs as well.

21.NEW eLicenser Control Center 6.4.12.1272 8/11/2020 5:38:52 PM

Hi all,

since this update I have a Server connection issue.

I do not know what Steinberg has made here, But this is the biggest crap-update of elicenser ever!

For the First time ever I can not update or install licenses.

At the moment I want to upgrade the license for Spectral Layers 7 and to install the new license for the latest BBO Neptune. IMPOSSIBLE ... I changed to another PC ... same problem ... I pulled the elincenser key out of the usb-hub  and put it into an own port ... no effect.

Are the issues known? I looks like there is a Server Connection issue ... never had this before. I did not change anything on my installation PC which is most of the time only used for test or installations.

Maybe the next Version will fix it ... hopefully ...

22.NEW: Synchron Percussion II 7/11/2020 6:47:44 AM

Hello Viennese,

great additions In the last months! And this is truly a Highlight. I bought everything and will finally download A LOT this WE.

2 questions aren’t left since most percussion instruments are recorded now. Are Marimba and Concert chimes a topic for an update/upgrade or are the percussions „Im Kasten“ and ended now?

Thanks and keep recording BBO Libraries

23.BBO: Lyra & Musca, Low and High String Sections 7/1/2020 11:08:28 AM

Thanks, WOW that's SSD-friendly data ... will be bought soon :)

24.BBO: Lyra & Musca, Low and High String Sections 7/1/2020 10:04:40 AM

Hello Ben,

how much SSD-Space do both have? Maybe I'm blind ... I don't find the info.

Thanks.

25.BBO wish: Swells / Evolutions 6/16/2020 10:52:38 AM

Hi, it would be great to have controllable large swells which are recorded with the whole Orchestra.

Recently I heard a piece which is a good example for this kind of swelling sound. Please listen from Start to 2:15 (or longer if you want)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rgz0FOW0Kt8&list=RDHi4wNWHZyNQ&index=2

Thanks.
