Hello everyone, thanks for your answers, but unfortunatly, it doesn't help me very much, i'm not talking about VI vers. VE, neither authentification: the fact is that I can't work with old song composed before the latest VI update.

Every Vienna instruments is empty, the loaded instruments are gone, (i'm not talking about key switching, or other parameters, I mean the basic patch I recorded with is reseted)

How should I deal with that ??

I open some older songs, and none of them work

Every Vienna Instrument is reseted at it primary state

It's been a while since Logic 8 hasn't been updated.

I've experienced some weird bug and lot's of problem with.

Still with the same configuration as yours

I would better like to have the real C string with no vibrato.

I wonder sometime if some notes are simply duplicated, like in the lower range of the soprano choir…

Another message:

This can be caused by exchanging single files, the usage of cleanup and backup tool or similar.

I reinstalled the lastest syncrosoft driver with no success

cm, I did all my work with my hugly orchestral sounds from 1993 !… I've not been able to use my VSL sounds, that's really a pitty.

Concerning the syncrosoft problem, is there a prevention to make a backup a hard drive to another one and use it ?

Is it forbidden ? it seems syncrosoft thing I'm trying to copy some weird autorisation, but as the VI can't work without the dongle,

I wonder why this causes so much trouble ?

When I launch the Vienna Instruments Standalone I got this message:

Your system finger print is not valid anymore.

The Systems' hardware configaration has been changed !

Soft-eLicencer "Sel Nr. XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX"

and stored licences have been disabled.

Harware eLicensers are not affected !

Please contact your software vendors' support department for help and reactivation.

The good point is that, while I'm now back at home, the Vi still work on my original Mac Pro machine, but I still need it on my MacBoko too.

I took a long time looking for a uninstaller solution, but found nothing on theweb, neither on the syncrosoft web site.

they already did it for obscur purpose inside the Soprano Choir (lower range sound like transexuals)

Steve, I bought DiskWarrior a few years ago and it helped me quite a lot.
But until recently, it never could repair a damaged disk with it, perhaps because it was too damaged for once, the 2 others I don't know.
Each time i've go a problem with a disk, Diskwarrior could not SEE it like Disk Utility couldn't either.
I live in Paris and went to the most sofisticated drive repair shop called http://www.13-17.fr/
The guy could analyse the source problem while I was putting the phone next to the running but unmounting drive.
It could detect by the rythm that the reading head was broken and should have damaged the drive,
When I went the to buy their one and only enclosure, we spook about diskwarrior, he prevented me from using it, telling it could lead to some problems. The conclusion was that it was safer not to run it.
Agree or not, I prefer to follow his warning.

Never use disk warrior, or maybe it's newest update 4.1, by the very Apple and drive repair specialist it's useless and could much tent to lead to some problems.

cm when I get the spining ball, that's mainly because suddenly the VI seems not recognising the syncrosoft key.
I always check repair the permissions after a new install.

When the VI wouldn't work (spinning ball when accessing to the VI host), the only solution for me was to force quit the deamon applications and reboot, now I don't encounter these situationsanymore.
I did that when I had this lovely spinning ball.

So, of course, don't listen to me, and apply carrefully what Christian said. I meant it in case of problem, but even in that case I'm sure CM shoudl offer another solution.

Select the VSL deamon app, look at the red button upper left and click on force quit

Do a force quit and reboot

Steve, you're right, I wish you had written the VI or VE manual, or the videos tutorial, your explanation are so clear the only one reading is enough to get everything into the brain.
What you thought, doing a tutorial for Sibelius 5 / VI is exactly what I'm looking for !
