1."Blizzard" - Cinematic Track w. Dimension Violins/Cellos 11/21/2013 5:21:59 PM
Hi Folks,

I've recently finished 'Blizzard', a cinematic track built upon (mostly) VSL instruments. Most prominent are likely the spiccatos from the Dimension Violins & Cellos, with some support from Appassionata Strings and Epic Horns. The only "non-VSL" parts are percussion and piano.

If you feel like giving it a listen, here you go: https://soundcloud.com/luchs/blizzard.

Cheers!

Dominik
2.F below middle C keeps sounding randomly 2/14/2012 10:42:45 AM
Do you, by chance, have expression maps configured for the track in Cubase, which sends keyswitches that are not configured in the slave VST?
3.VE Pro 4.1.9753 broken after update 2/3/2012 8:39:19 AM
I'll try this tonight. Thank you kindly for the swift response!
4.VE Pro 4.1.9753 broken after update 2/2/2012 10:18:31 PM
Not quite the solution I was hoping for, but after writing that I just installed 4.1.8861 again - and it works.
5.VE Pro 4.1.9753 broken after update 2/2/2012 10:15:34 PM
Hi folks,

I need your help. :(

I've upgraded VE Pro from version 4.1.8008 to 4.1.9753 - and find myself unable to work anymore. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, starting Vienna Ensemble Pro Server 64-bit, and connect to it through the VST in Cubase - that all works well.

My actual issue: It does not load the 64-bit VSTs anymore. It does not give me the option to insert a VI Pro 2 VST in Vienna Ensemble, and when I open an existing project file the channels load instantly, but without their VSTs. I've checked the VST scan folders, they're okay, and I can load the VI Pro 2 VST directly from within Cubase. In VE, it just does not show up anymore.

Is there anything I can try to solve this?

Regards,

Dominik

6.Beautiful Soul (VSL SE+ Ext + Soprano Choir) 3/21/2011 3:56:31 PM
Usually being more of a 'reader' of those forums, I felt the urge to share my latest project here, too!

Beautiful Soul:

Supposedly cinematic, with a 'suite' or 'theme' character to it, which one can derive from at a later time. Written for an independent no-budget creative commons movie project, which is a full-length 3D animated love story between dragons, and aims to be finished somewhen in 2014.

Except for the piano and the synth-like bells during intro/outro, everything else is done with the VSL Special Edition Plus and the Soprano Choir.

7.USB Hub Recommendation? 3/26/2010 1:32:50 PM
I'm using Windows 7 here, and have the ViennaKey connected to a Digitus 4-Port USB Hub.

I have two of those connected to my system, and even two audio interfaces on one of them; I never had any issues, and they come with an (optional) external power supply for stabilization, too.
8.Dawn & Desiderium - My first attempts with VSL 3/26/2010 1:21:08 PM
Hello everyone!

After spending way too much time trying to decide which sample library would suit my needs and help me improve my works (at least on a 'sample quality' level ;)), I ended up purchasing the VSL Special Edition about two weeks ago - and, of course, after impatiently staring at the progress bar during the installation, felt the urge the try it out and play with it. I can't say anything but "Wow!", not just to the quality of the sample content, but also to the pain-free installation and usage of the software that comes with it. It just works; and it's fun!

I'm not a big composer, and my tracks always end up a little fantasy-themed; still, I've had (and I'm still having!) a lot of fun with VSL, and thought I'd share my first two 'serious' attempts at writing tracks which were done with nothing but the VSL Special Edition Bundle from scratch.

Don't expect too much, though! :)

Desiderium - Only strings, a flute and an oboe. Rather 'classical', soothing.

Dawn - Fantasy Theme; the whole palette, from strings, percussion, piano, woodwinds, horns, and the soprano choir. :)

I hope you'll enjoy listening to them; if you wish to drop any feedback, feel free to do so, but it's certainly not required.

Regards

Dominik
