1.Blasts of white noise on Logic Pro 9 1/14/2011 1:28:13 AM
Your story is more or less what happened to me. This is disheartening, but I can't imagine there's no solution at all. I'll try to blank my IMac and reinstall everything
2.Blasts of white noise on Logic Pro 9 1/13/2011 11:00:23 AM
This appears to be a pretty common issue, and it seems to be Mac/Apple related. I'm getting quite often some huge blasts of white noise, deafening stuff. Other people are experiencing this while recording audio tracks, but I get this problem on VSL tracks. I'm on Logic 9.1.3, OS 10.6.6 combo updated, IMac 2,66 8Gb RAM. Apple seems to have no solution for this. I'm looking for help because with this problem I can't work anymore.
3.2010 Academy Awards (Original Score) 3/27/2010 9:36:36 AM
I agree with Chuck. One thing got lost, the theme. Ennio Morricone, Bill Conti, Nino Rota were masters, they created themes meant to be forever associated with the movies they worked on. Over the last 20 years this approach was almost completely lost.
4.Strings attack 3/24/2010 11:55:37 PM
Hey Glyn, thanks for the EQ advice. EQ on strings is really tricky to me, expecially when I'm handling different string sets (violins, violas, cellos and so on) at the same time. By the way, I'm using Logic 9 and all reverbs, EQ on that small piece are Logic stuff.
5.Strings attack 3/20/2010 6:58:38 PM
Thank you all guys for replying, thanks jasensmith for bringing up that release fader tip. I'll try that and I'll let you know.

here's an example of my 'problem'. I purchased VSL Standard Edition last october and this rather simple piece was my first attempt at composition using VSL libraries. On this piece some strings, as I mentioned on my first post, sound a little 'artificial'. I'm sure it's my fault and not VSL's, because I listened to some great stuff here and some of you guys managed to create a true strings dynamic.

6.Strings attack 3/17/2010 1:27:45 AM
First of all hi everyone and thanks for all those really useful threads about Vienna.

I'm having a hard time setting strings in general, solo and ensemble, without falling into a slightly artificial sound. I read this could be due to a fast attack, I tried to tweak attack values but I found no solution.

Is there a 'standard' way to set up attack and other values? Am I missing something?

Thanks.
7.Composing using piano roll/score 10/13/2009 5:50:33 PM
Thans for yur answer Jasen. Actually I was looking for solution to work just inside Logic Pro piano roll. One thing I don't understand is the reason why drawing manually the notes to trigger keyswitch articulation doesn't work.
8.Composing using piano roll/score 10/11/2009 1:55:59 PM
I'm a new Logic Pro and VSL user and I'm looking for some tips regarding composition using just the piano roll and the score window. I'm trying the Pete Thomas' combo remapper macro for keyswitch articulation, but I'd like to know if someone of you has some alternate system to go through the composition and performance process without playing all those articulations with the Midi keyboard. I read that Jay Bacal did his unbelievable version of Stravinsky's Rites Of Spring without touching his keyboard at all.
9.Vienna Key registration problem 10/1/2009 8:29:08 AM
Hi Paul, thanks for the tip, now everything's fine. Thank you!
10.Vienna Key registration problem 9/29/2009 10:02:41 AM
Hi everyone, I'm in need of some help since I'm new on VSL. I recently bought on VSL website a copy of Vienna Special Edition (full version). I had a problem with my Vienna Key: during the activation process my Imac prompted to insert an Usb e-licenser. I reconnected my Vienna Key and it was recognized by the eLicenser Control Center, but after I pasted the activation code I downloaded from the VSL website the last part of the registration stopped: the system didn't recognize anymore my Vienna Key, so i tried to repeat the whole process: I'm having the same Key problem and, more importantly, the control center tells me I have to use another registration key. Please help me, thanks everyone.
