1.SY Dim Strings Vs SY SE Dim Strings 1/14/2021 9:08:23 PM

Thank you Paul (and also Muziksculp). Very good to know, and eases the purchase decision as well :-)
2.SY Dim Strings Vs SY SE Dim Strings 1/8/2021 9:36:29 PM
Hi,

The current offer is mighty tempting, a good start into the new year. Now before I mindlessly purchase samples like a maniac:

I know about the difference in content between the SY-zed and SY-zed SE version of Dimension Strings. My question is about the sonic character. Simply said, I read (correct me if I'm wrong) that e.g. the Orchestral strings versions are both remastered, but differently, resulting in a different sonic character between these two versions. Is this the case for the Dimensions Strings as well? Meaning - do the SE Dimension Strings "sound the same"/have the same samples and remastering as their bigger SYzed counterpart? If not - what could I expect the difference to be?

I own SE but not the VI Dim Strings.

Thanks,
Mat
3.Synchron Player iPad Control App? 1/4/2021 8:17:10 PM

I like the Synchron Player (to be fair, I have very little experience with the VI Player). I feel more in control compared to...other samplers.

Back to topic - I throw my voice in as well - and sincerely hope that it's not iOS exlisuve - but Android as well, and maybe even Windows. I programmed in all Keyswitches into Open Stage Control (similar to touchosc, but full free) and think that could be an interesting idea if it is possible to do:

Open Stage Control creates a local webserver, meaning you can access the created frontend from any device that you want (same PC on a touhscreen, android phone, tablet - everything that can pen a website essentially). That might be a direction that could be interesting to look into for the team, if they are planning and have not yet polished everything for a later release. Don't forget the Android crowd and windows tablet crowd please, and consider the potential in a locally running webserver to serve the control surface, that way you don't need to pay any attention to mobile OS developments ;-)

4.Synchron player remote 12/17/2020 8:07:50 PM

Hi,

I saw some time ago that there was a remote interface available for the VI Player (runs on localhost) - and I wasn't able to find any info on that for the Synchron player - is a similar solution implemented, and if yes, what is the corresponding port?

I think with the dimension tree system a nice control for all the Keyswitching and Faders could be pretty nice to have. I stumbled on this question why trying out some remote solution for easier access to some stuff.

Best,
Mat

5.Custom Preset creation - Mixer presets 11/22/2020 1:22:36 PM

Thank you,

Yeah. I did it with copy-pasting the slot,. Opened two instances of the player, opened a factory preset, emptied it, recreated my root structure and then copied from one instance to the other. That worked out very nicely.

Schönen Sonntag! (Have a nice Sunday)

Greets,
Mat

6.Custom Preset creation - Mixer presets 11/22/2020 10:12:29 AM

Hi there,

I created a simple preset for Synchron Strings Pro to have a standard set of articulations with my Keyswitches set etc.

For ease of use, I simply replaced the articulations in that preset with the ones from the other instrument (adjusted KS where necessary) and saved it under a new name. So far, so good - the problem is that the Mixer preset are not "the correct ones", so the Vc only has the Vn I mixer presets available. Is there a way to remedy this except "do it again, each instrument has to be done from the factorypreset to get the mixer presets"?

Best,

Mat
