1.[SOLVED] VE Pro open first, then opening Cubase 7 causes eLicenser Control Error (Win8x64) 5/11/2015 5:16:45 PM

Hello David,

thanks for your response. THis gave me an idea to run VE Pro with " run as administrator" and now it works. Its strange, because I did work before without needing this setting. Anyway, I'm glad it works now.
Thank you.

2.[SOLVED] VE Pro open first, then opening Cubase 7 causes eLicenser Control Error (Win8x64) 5/10/2015 8:51:43 PM

Hello,

since yesterday I've got the same problem. When I start VE Pro first and then Cubase 7.5 then I get the same error message and cubase won't start. When I open cubase first and then VE Pro I still get a error message but at least VE Pro starts.

Thing is, this didn't happen before, all was working just fine. The only things I changed recently was updating Kontakt to the latest version and update the graphics drivers because a 3rd party VST plugin needed it.

I tried everthing which came to mind and suggested here as well including updating VE Pro and the elicenser software to the latest version. But the problem still persists.

I can't investigate this problem further since I'm using a demo version of VE Pro and the licence time is running out on me.

I was wondering if there is a new solution.

My Setup: Win 7 64bit, Cubase 7.5.4

Best, Przemyslaw

Smile Yeahh, it worked now. Thank you so much.

4.Scripted Kontakt2 programs available! 3/26/2010 12:07:19 PM

:) Thanks CM, thats very appreciated.

But there seems something wrong with the performance patches for the viola ensemble.

Although I exported every sample (and the appropriate folders) Kontakt can't find the samples even if I point it to the right folder.

Looking further in to it it seems that the samples were renamed differently compared to the giga ones. What's weird too is that some samples

have the old naming and others not. Any help on that one ? Please.

5.Scripted Kontakt2 programs available! 3/26/2010 10:24:46 AM

!! I have several Horizon libraries for gigastudio and recently started converting all my giga libs fully to Kontakt 4. I was hoping that

the Kontakt patches would still be available, especially since the giga versions are now legacy.

Is there  still the possibility to obtain them from VSl ?

Hello,

Didn't you have any bug with the iMidi Legato rule ?

I have the following with GS3 and GVI (with last updates), with the example .gig and with custom created instruments :

It happens when playing from keyboard, or from a sequencer midi tracks.

- When I play non legato it always use Alternate Sustain #1 instead of the default non legato split #29

- When I use Alternation #1 Key it doesn't play anything

- When I use the Release key, it plays the release sample correctly, but it plays it again at the start of the next note

- The iMidi control panel has bugs when editing the triggers keys, it doesn't memorise them.

It works correctly only with when listening to the midi keyboard .

- At last the ghost key works

Thanks,

Pao

I only experience the "bug" when I trigger the relase sample and at the start of the next note I hear it again.

It also happens with the westgate flutes library.

I guess its a limitation of the iMIDI rule ( which was the former performance tool version 1)

It didn't happen when used with performance tool 2.

Hi Przemek,

I've been thinking about doing the same thing with my horizon libraries.  If iMIDI can do the same thing as the performance tool, then it must be so much more practical.

Did it take a long time to reprogram?  Was it much work?  I clearly see the benefit, but due to my general lazyness in practical matters I doubt that I have your patience and motivation to actually do the job Smile

Hi Jonatan,

it took me quite some time to do it. I also did it in my spare time, so I couldn't work on the reprogramming everyday.

The thing is, at the beginning I din't know how to do it.

It was tiring because there was no description on how to do it. Yes there is something written in the manual, but it was only rudimentary with no details.

So I made a scheme and wrote down what sample had to go where. That was tiring too :) I made it for every instrument up to the woodwinds.

Because I didn't know the GS3 editor that well, I did the reprogramming the " hard " way, mapping all the samples manually sample by sample.

Now this took time, and my right hand did not forgive me for that until today I believe :) The good thing is that now I know my way around in GS editor.

Later on I thought that there should be a way to do it without so much hassle, so I tried the wizard of the editor and for every instrument except one it worked like a charm. So when manually doing it took me about 2 hours for one instrument including testing if every sample is mapped correctly, with the wizard for the same amount of time I could do 4-5 instruments with testing.

Also, I wanted the iMIDI instruments to be backwardscompatible so the original programming from VSL ( filter, envelopes and so on...) stayed as well.

Now I have OPUS 1 & 2 ready and the Concert guitar and French Oboe I have to finish too.

Regarding my patience...well, when I was mapping the samples manually sometimes I thought if it was actually worth it. Why did VSL did not make a final update now that they discontinued the Horizon productline?

But  I guess it had to be a user who did it, and yes it was worth it.

I have all the artfiles for the gig files with the new programming, but after so much work I don't know if I should/could release them.

Gee that must be a bummer!Devil

Big Smile  Hi Dave,

well, actually its not a bummer. I already knew that VSL released their VI based libraries.

THe thing is, as an avid GS3/GVI user I feel abandoned. Their former productline is discontinued and it seems VSL is not willing

to do any updates.

I mean, what is the purpose of using the perf tool  on product they don't support anymore, especially when you can have all the performance instruments done within iMIDI of GS3.

For people like me who wanna stay with their current setup for music production I believe to be it the more better solution.

Now I can stack perf instruments and keyswitch between them on the fly, AND the best thing is  that if I migrate to 64 bit OS with GS4/GVI4

I can use the libraries without the performancetool, which, we  i) don't know if it works in Vista 64  and  ii) would VSL do update the perftool to a 64bit version ?

The cool thing too is , that I don't have to call/write VSL support for a new serial number for the perf tol if I chane some components of my workstation,

Though at this point I have to say that VSL has the best support I've ever encountered, compared to other companies.

9.-- No Performance Tool anymore -- 10/15/2007 3:47:47 PM

As of today I have completed quite a difficult task, well at least for me.

I successfully reprogrammed OPUS1 & 2 for iMIDI.

To be specific-> every performance instrument.

It was quite a crazy time, as I did it in my spare time.

At first I had doubts if it would be possible at all considering so much samplecontent.

Not being that familiar with the gigaeditor and reading the manual to try to understand how to program performance legatos

was quite a task, and it took me some time

The cool thing is that now I don't need the perf tool not anymore.

I have also combined the p-f perf instruments and stacking in GS3  with many articulations including the perf leg/porta and so on

is so much fun .

It was worth the effort.

10.A " final " update to discontinued products? 10/13/2007 6:59:27 AM

Now that Nuendo 4 is out and GS4 isWinXp 64 And Vista 64 compatible,

it seems we are not that far away to have a 64 bit environment for musicproduction.

may i offer a suggestion - let's discuss this (perftool for 64 bit) after we see sequencers and gigastudio in the 64bit domain ... currently i don't see any example of use.

if you have GS3 orchestra you should also have the vienna giga orchestra (hopefully the naming is correct) with a few iMIDI rules for legato - it should be easy though tiring to create them for any VSL legato instrument, the idea behind midi processing is the same.

Christian, thanks for your response.

Regarding to the 64bit version of perftool was only meant as an example as I'm not using a 64bit environment for musicproduction yet.

My concern is rather that the support for us GS users will drop/faint after a while. And with upgrading any hardware component for a workstation means to get a new key for the perf tool.

Also, seeing the mentioned products to be discontinued...well, what is the purpose of the perf tool now anyway if you can have the libraries "fully" reprogrammed for GS3 iMIDI.

So...this is why I asked if an final update will be for us "abandoned?" GS users.
13.A " final " update to discontinued products? 9/11/2007 8:53:22 PM
After seeing VSL discontinuing the entire Horizon and Pro Edition series
I was kinda wondering if there will be a final update for this products.

What I mean is that, this discontinuation gives me a little uncertainty regarding support for the performance tool.

What if I wanna run a 64 Bit OS (WinXP64/Vista64)? Is the Performance Tool
working with these Os, and if not will VSL provide us with an update?

And... if not, an update to the above mentioned libraries for GS3 iMIDI rules
(legato) could be possible?

I know, this would make the perf tool sort of redundant, but for discontinued products it would seem the right thing to do.

Hi Christian,

as far as I know the website is still under construction but quite ready.
I think you can login without a confirmation email, but am not really sure at this point of time.

I only got one email from the webmaster regarding the confirmation of the registration process because something went wrong and he corrected it.

No ideas? Anyone?

Someone over at Northern Sounds suggested that Gigastudio might run on one core while the other processes the Gigapulse. Can anyone here confirm that? Thanks!

Although I have a dualcore I cant confirm it. Both cores are running either Gs is running in standalone or alongside a sequencer ( in my case Cubase SX 2)

I think you get at least more polyphony and who knows maybe more power for Gigapulse.

I personally think that it is not a bad Idea to have a dualcore as the future lies in the multicores anyway. You can't go wrong with it.

But that's presuming I'm using Horizon... I'm a little confused here, I have Pro Ed. Isn't that different from Horizon Series?

Its the same for the Pro edition, but you do not select the Hor-legato, just the normal one.( don't know the name though, only have Horizon products)

Thanks DG,

What do you mean by pal file?

This is REALLY annoying!

Hi,

you have to open the performance tool->select the channel for the performance file-> select Hor-Legato->then load( under legato mode) the corresponding pal file which will set the parameters in the performance tool for the instrument you loaded in your sampler.
23.Stacked Instrument name problem 2/20/2006 4:13:01 PM
Hi,

I think it has to do with GS 3. Even with other libraries, if you stack for example two or three ore more patches then it will be called Stacked instrument 0.

If you than stack another patches to the next channel in Gs 3 it wil be called Stacked instrument 1 and son.

BUT you can rename it. Go to the main channel where all the patches are stacked and click on the small arrow which is pointing downwards.
Then go to stack properties and there at the top left you can give it a name and save it as a template.

Thanks PolarBear,

I just loaded gig file after gigfile in order to see how much Gs3 can load until
the error message appears.

But even if I cant do that because of stability issues ( have to test it further )
I'll be happy with 1.2 gig Smile
