The solution was: within data protection and security -> look for installation program and check if download folder is enabled. In my case it was disabled, so enabling it solved the issue and installation run smoothly as I am used to it,

thanks for this hint.
Under Privacy & Security I am now able to find the settings - all of them are checked.
So I tried the update again, but still get the same error message. Also after restarting the MacBook.
I am not sure what Vienna Assistant is checking or missing during the installation process. Are there any installation logs available that I can share for further analysis?

Hi there,

I need some help with the installation of the Vienna Assistent.

I had it already installed and everything was running fine. Today, I wanted to update the Vienna Assistent and during the installation process I was asked to grant access to - I believe - the document folder. At that time, I was unfortunately not aware of that it came from VA, so I declined the access.

Now I have the problem that any other installation try results in an error as shown in the attached screenshot. So then I tried to remove the VA application into the trash bin, and reinstall again, but it results in the same error. So currently I am stuck somewhere in the installation process and probably need to clean up anything on my hard drive or grant somewhere the missing authorizations.

I am working on macOS Ventura Version 13.2

Any idea is appreciated - thanks in advance.

Having restarted VEPRO for the third time, error messages are gone now. Seems to work correctly again.

Hello,

today I am facing several error messages in VEPRO for Synchron WW, Brass and Percussion.
After that I tried to add e.g Horn 1 directly in Synchron Player and that did not show any error message.

1) Where do these messages come from and how can they prevented in the future?
2) How can I fix them - without loosing any settings?

If you apply our playback templates, the correct expression maps get assigned automatically. If you are in doubt, you can always check out the descriptions of our expression maps. They describe in detail which library or libraries they are made for.

thanks for your reply. The hint with the description in the expression map is really helpful, I was not aware of that before. I am using "VSL SYzd Woodwinds - High woodwinds" now but still have some problems with this expression map regarding the espressivo setting. I added a dynamic followed by suffix espressivo, but it will keep triggering the type "Regular" instead of "Espressivo". Is Espressivo supported in the expression map and if so, how would I have to notate it in Dorico so that it gets triggered?

thanks for your reply. The Prime Edition woodwinds unfortunately do not work for me as they have a limited number of articulations - I need e.g. trills and flautando which is not part of the Prime edition.

Hi Andi,

thanks for your suggestion, will check this out though I find it a little bit misleading to sometimes have the product name and sometimes have to use any other map. Maybe this is something that  can be improved by delivering a map with the correct name?

thanks for clarification. I was thinking of SY Woodwinds. Let's say, I choose one of the playback templates with SY Strings Pro, SY Woodwinds, SY Brass (e.g. VSL Synchron Strings Pro, SYzd Solo Strings, SY Woodwinds, SY Brass and SY Harp) and would like to use one of the high woodwinds, I only find SY Woodwinds expression maps for Bassoons/Bass Clarinet, Bassoons-3, Contrabassoons and Ensembles, but nothing called similar to VSL SY Woodwinds mentioned in the playback template at third position after Sy Strings Pro and SYzd Solo Strings. For other libraries such as SYzd, SYzd SE or Prime there is an expression map for high woodwinds available.

Is there a recommendation which playback template/expression maps should be used in that context or will there be anything added?

I switched to iLok and downloaded the library again. It now looks different than before in the Synchron Player.

The patch before in e.g. the orchestral strings was called Violins I Plus - now I have two different folders with VelXF and VelXF sus - what is the difference here now between eLicenser and iLok version?

thanks a lot for your reply. I installed the dump file and got key switches for artculations and CC1 switches. To my understanding, the proposed way to use them with Synchron libraries is to switch off Finale‘s hp and then to manually add them to each staff line?

Is there anything similar to the synchronized hp preferences planned for Finale in the future? Or if not, which are the restrictions that prevent e.g. creating custom preferences for the Synchron libraries or does this make not sense at all because of the number of different options in the Synchron libraries?

currently I am using Finale v27 with the SYNCHRON-ized Special Edition Volume 1 Plus and VE Pro 7.
I am working with the Finale Human Playback Preferences from the MyVSL notation related area. Having completed my Finale file, I export it to MIDI and Import it in Logic Pro for further adjustments.

Now I am thinking about using the SYNCHRON series products, in particularly
- SYNCHRON STRINGS PRO
- SYNCHRON WOODWINDS
- SYNCHRON BRASS
- SYNCHRON PERCUSSION I

The Finale HP Preferences file now comes with a PDF stating that it does not work with SYNCHRON collections. As this PDF is as of 2019 and the four libraries mentionded above have mostly been released afterwards, I am wondering of this statement is still valid or if there have been any changes and Finale HP Preferences will also work with the SYNCHRON series nowadays.
