1.Default Patch not working Sibelius / Ve Pro / Strings 6/17/2016 12:53:51 PM

Hey!

I am using the VSL Chamber Strings from the cube version (I have all App, Orchestral, Chamber and solo).

I do configure Sibelius manual sounds to the proper library and load the proper patch in VE Pro (sibelius).

Really lost....:(

2.Default Patch not working Sibelius / Ve Pro / Strings 6/16/2016 10:22:48 AM

Hello,

I have been trying to make the chamber strings (and others) to work with Sibelius. I followed all the steps and when I setup in Sibelius configuration panel and test it, it works well. But as soon as I close the window and I start writting music the patch that plays by default is not the sustain one. Some staff play harmonics, others play pizz...etc.. I imported the house style and I am using the Sibelius patch provided by VSL.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

3.Only cc1 don't go through VE Pro with expression map 4/5/2013 7:59:49 PM

Hi everyone!

I guess this is a well known problem, and it seems that it should work:

I have 2 pc with a master (cubase) and a slave (VE PRO) and I've loaded the expression map presets on both. Everything works good except for the CC1 that don't go through.

Sine the exp map are edited with CC1 I guess I have to use it (I really dont want to edit them). Any idea why I'm having this?

Thanks

Don

Ozone? I mean, I'm comparing this to a TC6000, or a 960L. Ozone?

I was talking about the presets Ozone provides for mastering...It is really helpful, not the reverb in Ozone, but of course :)

:D

MIR.

Is.

NOT!

Just.

Another.

Reverb.

PS ... I should add that there is nothing like "the sound" for a Venue. A simple change of MIR's Main Microphone setup and/or Reverb Time will lead to a  (maybe even radically) different sonic impression.

Well, I guess it's the venues...

I am not debating the good of MIR, it is a really great tool and much more sophisticated and polished than any reverb out there. I'm just making a point about sound. You can explain to me every aspects that are better in MIR it won't change the sound...

Once again, MIR is great and combine with VE Pro it is the best tool ever for reverb...

I'm sure that if I post 2 waves without naming the reverb this could be endless as it is a matter of taste :)

I insist to VSL team, if they could come up with some presets like Izotop does for Ozone 5 it would be amazing!

When I read about MIR PRO I was curious to learn more about it, but I was not sure if my machine could handle it (i7 CP 930 @2,8Ghz with only 12 Gigs of RAM), but so far, my demo is working just fine (I don't have that many tracks, though, just about 20-24 tracks / instruments usually).

It will work perfectly!

9.MIR - worth the money? 12/4/2011 5:52:54 PM

Hey!

Yes I did try and was about to get something quite close to what I like. Actually, what do I like?

Sample libraries have a dry recording. VSL is one of the most dry ever :) It is great so you can tweak the sound as much as you want. But without a good reverb and knowledge in audio engineering it's quite complicated. When MIR came out I saw it as my solution for all the troubles I had and truly IT IS! I spent 1 day setting up my VSL orchestra and wrote  60 minutes of music straight without touching anything. Perfect!

Then...This friend of mine came and tried to tweak the settings...with every venues from MIR. It sounded already better! I was amazed. Finally he told me, "why don't you try Altiverb to check if you like it better?". I argued a lot talking about the space MIR has and how fast I can get it. He plugged 4 altiverb (Todd AO), made some presets of his and played the same music. I was blown away...The sound was not as spacious as MIR, that is for sure but the color was so much...alive! Everything was blended into a perfect warm sound, something I like a lot.

Today, more and more libraries come with their own IR and positionning. It bothers me because I feel that if I buy strings from a different company than brass then the 2 won't sound in the same room because of positioning presets and reverb but I have to admit, when you listen to the samples into their own reverb it sounds just incredible...

A suggestion would be to get from VSL orchestra presets (positionning, EQ, premix) for each room...

Hi Dietz!

I didn't know about Todd AO but if I mentionned them it was to avoid mentionning Altiverb.

I have always and ever been a big VSL Fan. MIR was for me a great tool for one of my project. But a felow composer once showed me how to setup Altiverb and I had to admit the color (using Todd AO) was (is) much better.

The first thing I did when MIR PRO came out was to try different settings (mics, EQ) to get a great color but it was not as good...I'm sorry to say so...

Despite this, I'd like the people reading this to know that MIR is great...no INCREDIBLE! The tool is now much better now being linked to VE pro using network. Soundwise it's much more a matter of taste than anything else!

I love MIR but unless they will get more venues (TODD AO??) I won't use it...a real shame for such a great tool!

12.Can't have more than 1 Vienna Ensemble Audio Input plugin 11/22/2011 8:38:41 PM

Hey Karel!

I'm on Cubase 6.0.5 and it doesn't work as VST3 nor x64.

I tried with Massive and Kontakt with bad results but it looks to work with audio tracks...

13.Can't have more than 1 Vienna Ensemble Audio Input plugin 11/22/2011 6:51:59 PM

Hey!

I'm Thrilled bu the new version of the VE Pro with Mir. I was trying to load on my master computer (Cubase) an instrument and send this to my slave computer using the VE audio input plugin. It worked great!!!

Then I tried to add one more and now the sound is cracking for both of them....CPU is 2% but it is like it was over charged.

I;ve added another VE Pro in the master computer and route the second instrument to is using the VE  audio plugin and it worked..

As I don't want to use 1 VE pro per instrument (!!) What do I do wrong?

Thank you,

O.D

14.Cubase 6 and Expression map 1/14/2011 7:24:14 AM

Hi All!

As you may know now Cubase 6 is out. IS there any update for expression map to work better with cubase 6 enhancements?

Thx!

15.VE PRO weird behaviour slave/master 11/2/2010 1:49:18 PM

Hi,

It's been months I'm using VE pro and cubase on 2 separate computers using the same template in cubase with a Vsti VE pro connected to Ve pro server on the secund computer.

In this cubase session VE Pro loads automatically an instance (full orchestra) but I found out today that I don't see it in the available slaves.

Now I'm trying to create a new cubase session but Ve pro can't connect to Ve pro slave (I tried name and ip). I got error 32.

What is happening?

Thx

Are you asking if Vi Pro will work exactly the same as with the current VI as far as VST Expression is concerned? Or are you asking if there will be an enhanced VST Expression? If the latter, what do you want it to do that it already doesn't?

DG

Well, as the matrix are now much more sophisticated I'm pretty sure the presets could be much better...As I may guess, you don't plan to do some?

17.Vienna instruments pro timeline. Anyone know? 8/20/2010 2:54:53 PM

The 1 million dollar question : what about the VST expressions? :)

18.Vienna instruments pro timeline. Anyone know? 8/16/2010 9:24:10 AM

I know Summer is ending the 21st of September but do you think VI Pro will be released earlier :)?

19.VE pro multiple VSTi output 8/5/2010 3:46:42 PM

Hi,

Is it possible to get omnisphere or Kontakt audio output more than just one within VE pro ?

Thx

20.VE Pro : Mixer Effects automation 7/13/2010 4:19:44 PM

Hi,

I was trying to bypass an effect (in the VE Pro mixer) using automation...but I can't find out how to.

Is it possible.?

Thx

21.Automation within VE Pro 7/12/2010 10:48:57 AM

failure :)

any idea?

22.Automation within VE Pro 7/12/2010 8:45:52 AM

I've managed to control the kore 2 from a midi lane using CC.

In the options button from KORE you can see which CC is needed...but what I still miss is te record them when I'm using the knobs....Stil investigate

23.Automation within VE Pro 7/12/2010 8:13:56 AM

Just to let you know. If I use kore 2 within cubase, the automation is written in the VST instrument lanes not in the Midi lanes...

Maybe this is the pb...

24.Automation within VE Pro 7/12/2010 8:04:27 AM

Hi!

I've been trying the same. Everything works just incredibly great to have KORE 2 (32 bit) works with Cubase 64 using VE pro, multi channel and multi midi input. The KORE 2 controller works also great as I use it from Cubase and Kore 2 hear it from VE pro.

But I can't write the automation. I've activated every Read and write automation on every channel (Midi & VST intrument (eg VE PRO)) and nothing is kept.

Thanks

25.[CUBASE] Key editor getting very slow with VSL vst expression presets 7/6/2010 11:47:30 AM

5.5 is still very slow when I have a lot of MIDI data using VST expr...

This is annoying...

[EDIT] Mostly for strings...
