Hi! I wanted to download the harp specifically from my VI SE1, but in Vienna Assistant I don't know where it is. Vienna Assistant only lists the categories; Strings, Brass, Woodwinds, Percussion. Where is the harp (and keyboards) within those?

Awesome. And if you DO get it to work, you should definitely promote it hard :) as it would be the only plugin (yet) to be able to fix Logic's channel matrix issue, and it would make it possible for people to use all the surround plugins from Nugen Audio, Sound Particles, Rode, etc, etc, within Logic, which is currently not possible

(I'm just very happy MIR Pro 3D works, and that is because it has the ability to re-assign its outputs going back into Logic)

Thats amazing! The problem however is that the Matrix Mixer does not open as a 7.1.2 plugin in Logic (unlike MIR Pro 3D for example, which works great).

(its possible to open it in 7.1, but not in 7.1.2)

Hello!

It would be fantastic if there was the option to use Matrix Mixer in 7.1.2 or 7.1.4 projects in Logic Pro. Currently, the plugin is not available in surround with height speakers ( x.x.2 or x.x.4)

This would make it possible to use it to fix Logic's channel layout issue, which affects all surround plugins in surround.

Sure, thats the way I do it now, but its rather tedious. One additional/alternative way would be to be able to alt-click on the controller slot to change it to "None" (to avoid having to click-hold-scroll)

@Dietz: I see, ok! I'll assume this behaviour doesn't have an explanation within MP3D then, I'll email support and see if I can get somewhere!

@Dewdman: I'd be very interested to know if you are getting all the ceiling channels to work correctly back from MP3D, in 7.1.4. I can't get it to work like it should (as per my post). The reason is not about the physical outputs, but before that, it happens at the level of what MP3D is sending back to Logic.

Sorry to bother, I just wanted to check if you saw my reply before the next guy came into the discussion? It described a pretty odd behavior in the ceiling outputs. Is this something you recognize? Or can this have to do with how MP3D communicates back to Logic somehow?

Right, maybe I can email support. There are some weird things going on regarding ceiling channels.

All ways I've tried it, in a 7.1.4 setting, the virtual speakers / matrix display the following behaviour:
The fader volume of TFL raises volume in both TFL and TFR channels. (TFR fader does nothing)
Same with TRL/TRR.
However, they also seem to be re-ordered, so its actually not TFL/TFR/TRL/TRR, like it says in the mixer.

TFL controls output to TFL (and TRL). But TFR does not control TFR (and TRR) as might be expected. Rather, It is the TRR fader that controls those two channels.

To make it clear:
TFL: controls TFL and TRL
TFR: does nothing
TRL: does nothing
TRR: controls TFR and TRR.

This has the odd effect that in a 7.1.2 setting, I'm not able to get any sound at all from the Right side, since those faders needed are no longer present in the matrix display.

I'm very very excited about this in any case, so no need to apologize. Happy to help reporting on any issues regarding integration with Logic, as well as doing experiments, if needed.

So this mean, as I understand it, that there is nothing to assign to the LFE channel?

Also, I can't quite get the ceiling channels to play ball. There seems to be no signal present going from MP3D to Logic in the Top Surround Rear mics, even though those are present in the virtual loudspeaker list, as well as in the matrix. Unlike the other channels, I don't get anything into Logic from them..

Hello Dietz!

Just now starting to play around with MP3D in my newly installed 7.1.4 setup in my studio! Much fun! However, I'm trying to work out some initial glitches to get me started.

In LPX, I'm choosing 7.1.4 as the format. And then adding the 7.1.4 version of the MP3D plugin. However, when selecting the 7.1.4 preset in immersive format, I get a warning for wrong number of channels (as per the attached image). I'm trying to figure out how to think about this and how to get it right.
The output section of MP3D shows 12 channels, so I'm not really sure which are the 11 channels referred to. Is that because there's no LFE among the virtual loudspeakers?

PS, the channels doesn't correspond to the logic setup, but I suppose I can just change that in the Decoder Output Matrix to make sure each channel goes to the right place in Logic?

Thank you so much for your reply, and for your hard work with MIR Pro 3D!

The release of 3D coincided (by chance) with my decision to add an 7.1.4 setup to my studio. I chose this setup because of client demands basically, but I'm very very excited to get into it, and the release of MIR 3D just increased my excitement by 10x!

I'm not done with the setup quite yet, should be next week or so, but to be able to start implementing MIR 3D in my workflow from the get go is just a dream.

I'm not sure exactly what I can expect here. I guess in my dreams, I'm envisioning being able to think of myself as the microphone, and then pan the instruments around me in 3D space with MIR.
In that sense, having the height information mainly as a panner is not a problem at all for me, but it would be absolutely awesome to have this feature with a keyboard modifier. The user experience would be so much better, at least in this particular case.
I understand your point though, you don't want people to think the height information is "as real" as the 2D positioning.

Maybe it could be added as an option (tick box for allowing height adjustments with Cmnd-drag)?

Ok, I'm quite sure I'll be feeling very dumb very soon, but can someone explain how to adjust height using the mouse? My hands are instinctively reaching for a key modifier + mouse movement, but I cant find how its done??

I'm just setting up my studio with an atmos rig, so MIR 3D could not be more anticipated!
Until then though, do you guys have any tips on how you're using MIR Pro in an atmos context currently? I can imagine there are many ways to use it creatively. Would be nice to hear from anyone with experience how you've used it!

Hi Paul!

It would be pretty cool to have presets in those reverbs corresponding as closely as possible to the reverbs in SY Player! Would make a strong argument to get the Vienna Suite as well (at least for me).

To be able to get coherence between the sounds from SYP (which have the sound of the Synchron Stage + the Room and Plate verbs) and other sources you run through MIR Pro (which gets the Synchron Stage sound, but lacks the room and plate) would be really good mix wise!

What would be really cool is to have a Synchron Reverb plugin with those reverbs featured. They would sit on my AUX channel permanently. It would be nice for anyone using SYP I think, even those who are not using MIR Pro, to be able to get that glue that a common reverb gives.

Ok, I understand, thanks for explaining! 

It is a very powerful combo indeed. I have used it that way (VI Dim Strings -> MIR Pro), but since I got the SY Synched Dim Strings I use those instead, as I really love the SY Player these days.

What would be awesome from a mixing perspective (as I mentioned in another thread as well) would be to have access to the room and plate reverbs from Synchron to be able to use those on other sources to get a fully coherent sound.

At least the way I think about it is that sounds in the Synchron Player (Synched Dim Strings, BBO, etc) already have the sound of the Synchron Stage, and then the Room and Plate reverb applied afterwards.

The sounds you run through MIR Pro then also get the Synchron Stage sound, but then there is no way to add the Room and Plate reverbs from SYP, which would add that final piece of ultimate glue. What if those could be added to MIRacle, or be ported to a Synchron Reverb plugin, now that would be awesome!

Well, in a way it doesn't harm anything directly, but I suppose that could be said for most graphic updates. It is however one of the few plugins in my system that still is not retina ready, and reading the text on my 4k screen is quite a challenge. It would definitely be a worthy upgrade for such a lovely piece of software, especially since you have a very nice graphic profile since coming with VE6 and Synchron Player.

Happy users make more users, I guess could be one argument? ;)

Haha, well..... Having non-pixelated, retina-style text seems like the way to go these days. Also the issue becomes a bit more apparent in the attached screen shot, using the resolution of my 4k screen :)
