1.VEP 7 some plugins show empty interface 6/9/2019 4:41:16 PM

Which version works for you, and which plug-ins are affected exactly in 7.0.834? We'll need to reproduce this.

Best,

Apologies for not answering sooner. The very first V7 release works for a plugin called Showbuddy Active. If I install the update then I can not see the graphics from the plugin. So I just ignore the screen that asks me to update to the newer release.

Yes I have the same problem. I installed the original VEP 7 and did not do the latest update and it works ok for me. So try to reinstall with the original installer and if it asks to update to latest say no.

I hope everyone is happy now it has been released and we know what the features are.

4.VE Pro 7 Nearly A Month After Pre-Order Announcement 3/21/2019 6:47:35 PM

I did not wade into the Synchron Strings release, but I did observe the disappointment of those who preordered when it took about six months after that for the Synchron Player to be released (according to my reconstruction based on YouTube video releases). I really hope the VE Pro 7 release does not play out like that.

To be sure, VSL does not want to release information about VEP7 features that are not yet fully and successfully working. I just hope substantial information and release is at most a few weeks away instead of months.

I do not expect that I will feel burned by this information-less pre-order. My history with VSL suggests I will not be disappointed with the product once I get my hands on it. But I hope I'm not still relying on a general confidence a month from now.

Agreed on everything you wrote. Have you purchased the upgrade yet?

I sympathize with the 6 month wait for the Syncron Player. Got one even worse. Back a few years East West announced a majpr update for their then flagship orchestral library. People could pre-order at a frozen price and be assured of being the first to get it. This frozen price was not a discount as such because they said the price might well go up upon release. We were also told it would only be a couple of months. Turned out it was more like 18 months AND they charged our credit cards at time of order. So there is precedent for screwing over customers. Which is why I haven't yet ordered the upgrade (VEPro 6 owner).

There is a precedent for screwing over customers???? Your logic is because East West did something then everyone else should be blamed? Ridiculous.

Most of the people complaining about the upgrade cost don't even have more than one computer and don't need more than one license. You need to stop complaining..

Having the right girl sitting at the right place can save you tons of money ;) ... and LAJ has ... ;))

This is very good. Maybe you should have this girl get VEPro 7 for you since you would rather cry about the price?

Hello David,

BING! That's right.

I combined the Entry-Discount with the Package Discount. And no you are no idiot, because this is no more possible now. Another disadvantage for us Package-candidates.

I bought Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 with a Bestservice Discount for 71,00 €. But this is because I am a pretty good Softube-customer and bought a lot of effects & modular-modules (Clouds, Braids, Rings etc.) in 2018 and 2019.

Best,
Lars

Ahhhh. No big trick, you just pressed the right button..... So you got a special deal and are complaining because that same deal isn't being offered with this version. Ridiculous.

Again ... no big trick. I pushed the right button. That‘s all.

Looks like a great price. You should continue to use it. Doesn't sound like you need to upgrade.

Yep, I didn't. I don't buy into uncertainty. It was a great entry offer for people not having Vienna Ensemble at all, though.

If you don't buy into uncertainty then wait until the details are announced. I believe Paul said the introductory price will stay after the features are announced. Not sure what the problem is....

61 Euros? Wow you must have had some kind of magic price because the introductory upgrade price for VEPro 6 was €85 and after the introductory price  it went up to €105. The list price for VEpro 6 was €285.... Maybe you are referring to VEpro version 4 from 2007????? Again I love all this misinformation. The price has actually gone down. And I am willing to bet that only about %35 of you use more than one license. Please stop the crying. Buy it or don't. If you are power users that have multiple machines linked then I hardly think you would be making so much trouble over the upgrade price. So yes people the actual price of upgrading has gone down, although it is with less licenses. Please stick to facts.

The more serious issue is that down the road, we will be forced to upgrade.  That is mostly because of forced yearly MacOS updates by Apple that breaks compatibility, though less of a problem under Windows but no one knows if or when it will happen.

So the "what's the problem, keep using VEP6" statement is fine, but only *for now*.  There is also the fact that if this pricing scheme remains the same, every version of VEP will cost double to upgrade compared to what we signed up on initially.

Valid, but isnt this an issue with any software with paid software upgrades?

Forced yearly updates from Apple? Nonsense.... Apple doesn't force anyone to update. And you are not paying double to upgrade from what you signed up on intitially.  Show me where you would be paying double what you paid.. Misinformation is not a good thing....

The new Epic Orchestra 2.0 is 10 times the size of the previous version, and it has Synchron compatibilty with some samples.  It is included for free yet some people are still complaining about it. Sounds like people are upset about having to pay to upgrade to a newer version, but this is normal with most software. You will still have your multiple license verision of 6 to use if you have invested in it, And nothing is to stop you from purchasing one or two upgrade licenses if you need them. I think it is a great deal and I look forward to using it.

The problem is NOT having to pay for the upgrade to version 7 but having to pay extra to keep the same amount of licenses one already has. With the upgrade you actually lose 2 licenses if you don't pay extra for them. I've never seen a program where you lose the amount of licenses you get when a new version comes out.

You don't lose two licenses. You don't lose any licenses. However you do have to pay to upgrade each license if you want them to be on version 7. Nothing is stopping you from using your other 2 version 6 licenses as nobody has taken them away from you.  I am not trying to be unsympethetic to your situation, but upgrades are completely at your discretion. And it sounds like you only need one license for a Master and a Slave computer....
