1.Hoe to reinsall licence? 8/2/2022 10:17:45 AM

Hi, I own Orchestrsal strings 1, standard licence. I tried to download it to my new machine and was succesful according to Vienna assistant. However it does not show up in Synchron Player. So, I checked it out in Ilok.com, it seemed to be activated. Anyway I tried to activate it again and got a message saying that my Ilok must be gen 2 or above - it is a gen 2 I am using. So I thought I could try deactvating the licence and then reactivating it. When I deactvated it I was given no option to reactivate and now am truly stuck.

 Any help please?

2.Synchton can't see libraries 7/30/2022 10:43:22 AM

Hi All,

I am rebuilding after a sytem crash. I have a couple of free libraries that will not show up in Synchron player - Epic Orchestra (very old)  and Big Bang.

I have an elicencer and a Ilok account. I can see the Big Bang Licence in eLicencer.

I have ilok licences working for other products. I am on WIn 11/ Cubase12

I also notice that Epic Orchestra is exactly the same size as Big Bang.... are they the same thing?

Not sure what to do.....

3.Old Epic Orchestra Library -where is it? 1/28/2021 8:58:41 PM

I have  got this owrking using VS2. That will do

4.Old Epic Orchestra Library -where is it? 1/28/2021 3:00:49 PM

As I have said above I am getting no option to install any VST either 2 or 3.

I have checked the download location you cite, its not there. Checking Prgrams and features I can see Vienna Instruments there, but I still have no idea where the VST is. It's not in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\...

Only Vpro and Synchon are at this location

I added the specific path above and can now see Vpro 7 in Cubase which is in there.

Where can it be? What is its name please, so I can search?

Am I downloading the correct program for Epic Orchestra 1? ViennaInstruments-WIN-6.5.18935? Is this VST2 or 3?

I am really confused now

5.Old Epic Orchestra Library -where is it? 1/27/2021 9:23:56 PM

FYI I hav

I have discovered the same problem with VEPro 7. No option to choose location no sign of the name of the DLL. No idea where it is, not showing in Cubase 11. What to do? Where is the default location?

It is installed on my system but I have no access to it

No, it does not help. There is no option in the installation process to choose the location of the DLL. This is the issue. I have installed 3 times and watched carefully. There is also no indication of where the DLL is. Is there a default location? I have tried explorer search for Vienna*.dll it's not worked. What is the exact name fo the DLL please?

Your license for the original Epic Orchestra is contained on your ViennaKey, alongside all other VSL licenses of yours.

So please install the "Vienna Instruments & Vienna Ensemble" Software (you can un-tick "Vienna Ensemble", as you already have VE Pro), and download the Epic Orchestra from here (instructions in the column to the left).

Best,
Paul

 The product is already installed.

I still have not been able to find the DLL for Cubase VST3. I have re-installed again. It gives no option to locate or relocate the VST DLL, just goes straight to install. This is a showstoppper fro me.

Can anyone tell me where this might be?

8.Old Epic Orchestra Library -where is it? 1/27/2021 4:07:00 PM

I have found the standalone and it works. I can't seem to find the VST3 location, where is it please?

9.Old Epic Orchestra Library -where is it? 1/27/2021 3:54:54 PM

I just re-downloaded the old Epic Orchestra 1, a freebie as I recall, for an old song. I cant seem to find the location of the VST DLL? Anyone know please?

This entire thread is wrong, because once the dongle system is used for copy protection, there is no way to distinguish between theft and loss.  So VSL is not in the wrong.   To compare other companies is a false comparison because they don't use the same system.

Also the statement that comparing physical products is wrong is completely wrong itself - it is exactly analogous, because the posters of this thread want a replacement for something stolen,  for free. That doesn't happen in the real world.

I have no interest in debating this however - it is utterly fruitless since the people on this thread are hostile and their minds are made up.  T

Other companies, such as Spectrasonics, Native Instruments and a lot more manage to do this, without penalising anyone.  To compare VSL with other companies is precisely the point - they DONT use the same system VSL should and can change there's. It's simply good business sense to support your customers well.  Your emotional response is OTT.

Dear , dear, I would guess you dont know anyone in this thread personally, some people might actually be trying to improve VSL customer support

What's to stop me from telling Vienna that I lost my dongle, when I really didn't, and I need a new one with my licenses restored then turning around and selling that new one to somebody else and letting them download the software from my user area?

Well, paying 50% of the cost of the licenses is a pretty big deterrent.

As for a dongle breaking, again, if it malfunctions due to no fault of your own and you're within that two year period then that's on Vienna for selling you a faulty dongle right?

VSL could use an in house system and then not get charged by Steinberg

VSL could make an arrangement with Steinberg to cover these issues

VSL could put in steps to verify the identity of the user when re-issueing licences (like other companies do) therefore ther is no need to levy a 50% detterent

Legitimate customers that get offered this amazing half price  penalty offer may well just go and buy libraries from other companies instead - loosing VSL customer base. They will understandably be reluctant to buy further packages after being stung this way. NO other company has this sharp practice.

The two year thing for dongles is also wrong, wrong, wrong.

Sorry spoke too soon this does not work if I open Vepro before Cubase 8.5 win, I get this error message. If I open Cubase first I do not get the error message. Things appear to work this way

14.lost elicenser key and VSL will not respond to my emails 10/27/2016 9:07:48 PM

I am another user who lost his dongle. I want to say that ALL the other companies I use were sympathetic and I have my licences restored. I also wrote in and then was  told I was to be charged 50% to cover 'costs', I do not think this is acceptable that such an innovative company should behave this way. When I objected Vienna simply dropped communication with me.  For some reason, when changing motherbards I have East West licences disappear too. They performed a few checks on me and replaced without a grumble. On another occassion Native Instruments licence for part of Kontakt disappeared - one phone call sorted this out. Spectrasonics licences also disappeared during a rebuild - they were also restored.

I want Vienna to know that your products are very good but also very expensive (overpriced  IMO) you leave a very nasty taste in your customers mouth when you behave in this way. Although I do like the quality of your products, would it not be better to spend my money on HollyWood or any other library of which there are now many, if I had the money to spend on 'restoring' my licence?

I just bought a lot of orchestral packages and my main reason for not buying VSL was because opf their customer service on this matter. Many professionals work in environments where a dongle can be stolen or fo missing. Other substaintial companies don't use them - Spectrasonics, Native Instruments, Spitfire and more.

This way if I lost my dongle again, it would not be a show stopper. Basically this is a shameful way to act VSL. There ARE solutions other companies use them.

Meanwhile I cannot use my product that I  legitimately paid for

Sadly I expect to be ignored on this view no way to treat your legitimate customers

15.Vepro Surround Questions 10/27/2016 8:52:28 PM

Hello all,

I am in the throws of designing a very large template including orchestras and other instruments. I use Cubase 8.5. I have purchased VEPRO only a few days ago and am running some trials and tests. I work in Surround 5.1

Before Vepro it has been my habit to set up all tracks as 5.1 and simply load in any stereo VSTs into the Surround track. This lets me use Cubase mixers very powerful surround panner to place the sound where I want and automate if required.

I have been experimenting with loading Vepro instances in Surround format, then loading stereo instruments  into this. I have found that if I then bring the stereo signal to the back of the Vepro Surround Panner, then all that happens is the volume reduces and the sound does not come out of the other speakers - still only the L&R pair. I also note that in Cubase's mixer, on such as Vepro channel, the Cubase surround panner goes missing (there is no stereo panner either). Odd!

If I set up Vepro in stereo then Cubase's Mixer presents its pretty face again, and I can pan away... Cubase's Surround Panner is also more fully featured than Vepro's panner too.

It seems this is the way to design templates then, reserving usuage of Vepro's Surrouind features for 'true' Surround Instruments (e.g. Kontakt in Surround format) .

I should like the opinion of more experienced users on this, as the template I am designing is very large and I would not like top make a newbie mistake.

thank you

thank you I have done this and it works

17.VEPro and Cubase 8.5 can't both work 10/24/2016 4:41:10 PM

Hello all,

Dear Vienna,

I am trying to set up VePro with my Win 10 Cubase 8.5 64 bit, fast machine.

I an new to VePro

Installed VEPro6. Updated the app and licences too. After a bit of installation seem to have it working, if I click on the server it loads up, however, If I open the server and then run Cubase 8.5, Cubase gives this message:

"Application/Cubase  has caused the following error

An important service has become unresponsive

Please restart your computer and install the latest version of ELicencer Control software in case the problem persists"

I have restarted and I have installed the latest version of Elicencer.

If I run Cubase without loading VEPro CUbase loads with causing error messages. When I then load Vepro6 it

Vepro returns the following error:

" Soft Elicencer doesn't have enough permissions to run properly. Please run LCC to fix this."

running LCCdoes not 'fix this'

Vepro then loads and seems to work as far as my untrained eyes can see.
Both methods give error messages. I dont know what I should do

21.Couple of quick questions please re 64 bit set up 4/25/2009 10:56:49 AM

Thanks for your help guys, its much appreciated. I have now dowloaded all the updates - there were some funny glitches going on with login. Its set up day for me, will be running in Surround.

DG: Well there are a few reasons. Firstly the usual  RAM considerations. Secondly 64 bit is the future. I have quite a few East West bits (PLAY). Kontakt has a beta out and Halion is on its way 'soon'. Cubase 5 seems stable as a rock and I am running my old machine concurrently with 32 bit Cubase available also. I also have Absynth and this seems to run OK through the bridge.

From the results I am gettingt it seems its going to be 64 bit and no going back.Big SmileParty!!!Party!!!Party!!!

Old gear still to load: Garritan GPO 2, Strad and Gofrilla; BFD 1. The only one that so far crashes is Halion 3.5.

Have any of you guys used JBridge?

Now.... to cook the lamb, feed the cat and check out VSL 64 bit...

22.Couple of quick questions please re 64 bit set up 4/25/2009 7:53:17 AM

Hello all,

I am setting up a new machine using Win 7 64 bit and Cubase 5 64. I have now installed my one and only orchestral strings library (I shall buy more when cash is vailable), but I think my Vienna player is running as 32 bits using the bridge technology in Cubase. I have heard that VSL is 64 bit but when  I log in to find a possible update for my player, I find nothing on the screen. The build date on my player is 2006 version 1.03. I also wonder if there is an update to the patches.

Could anyone guide me as to how to use VSL in Win 7 64 with Cubase 64?

thanks in anticipation

23.Struggling to install - help please! 4/24/2009 7:22:44 PM

Yes it was a driver for the synchrosoft licence that was corrupted - device driver box trash the driver and thanks for the help Paul.

24.Struggling to install - help please! 4/24/2009 4:07:48 PM

I am trying to install orchestral strings 1 on my new computer running in wIN 7 64 bit. I have already had orchestral strings running on my old XP machine and have the dongle. My synchrosoft control centre shows Vienna Instrument and orchestral violins/violas. I get messages saying I dont have the licence.

"Application 'Vienna Instruments' has caused the following error:

eLicenser(s) contain(s) no valid license for this application.

Options:
 - For troubleshooting information click <Help>.
 - Click <Licenses> to view available licenses.
 - Connect a valid eLicenser and click <Retry>.
 - Click <Cancel> to abort."

I DO have the licence!!!!

When I try to install unsing the library installer I get a message asking me for package info whatever that is. 'select package.info file from the media'. What does this mean?

I have tried to go to VSL and download an update in the vain hope that because my discs refer to XP there might be something 64 bit, I go to a page which says 'The latest updates of the Vienna Symphonic Library Software are available in the SOFTWARE section of the User Area.' I click on the hyperlink, and it takes me somewhere irrelevent. I can see I am registered.

I simply dont understand what is going on. How is it done?

I would be really grateful for some help if you can ...

Yeeks!!

Before I burn the toast please ;) SurpriseHuh?
