1.Hercules Long notes - soft 6/16/2020 2:34:20 PM

Hi,

Same here. The patch long notes (soft) without cbt plays only monophonic, same patch with cbt plays polyphonic. Since both patches belong to the „sustain“ category and not the „legato“ category, I would expect both to be playable polyphonic, right? That doesn’t make sense, I think the patch needs to fixed (it’s such a nice one after all). I am confused.

Other than that, great new sounds!

Best,

H

2.Screencast Videos for Concert Guitar and Upright Bass 2/15/2020 2:22:19 PM

Really great piece from Nicholas! Also great treatment of the chamber strings. Would it be possible to upload the logic/midi file? It would be also interesting to see how he managed to get the chamber strings to sound so nice, suiting the style of the piece perfectly.

Thanks

3.YAY: SYNCHRON-ized Plucked Instruments! 2/14/2020 5:08:42 PM

The upright bass demos from Nicholas Decrescent and Christof Unterberger both sound excellent! Also the accompanying chamber strings, respectively the jazz drums sound very nice.

It would be interesting and educational to see the midi files for these. Would that be possible?

Best,

H

4.MirX extensions for Synchron Stage 2/14/2020 4:17:49 PM

+1 on  MIRx Synchron Stage !

We’ve been discussing this in a thread as old as Summer of 2018:

https://www.vsl.co.at/community/posts/t49022-MIRx-Synchron-Extension#post274615

It is disappointing that this has not happened so far.

It might very well be, that the synchronized versions can do more than a simple MIRx extension would be able to. But then again MIRx in combination with vi library updates probably could achieve the same…

The discounts for the synchronized versions, if you are an owner of the originals libraries, are pretty good, although it adds up if you get all them…

The other thing is, that I need now much more ssd hard disk space for both the vi versions and the synchronized versions, and thats the actual expensive part of the game…

And lastly, theres the question of flexibility and individual workflows/preferences, it just would make life easier to have a MIRx version at hand (even with limitations, which is the case for all MIRx Venues compared to MIR Pro anyway)…

Best,

H

5.MIRx Synchron Extension 9/2/2018 5:00:35 PM

Thanks for the prompt answer. Even as a longtime owner of MIR, I do like MIRx a lot. Why? It’s easy, it’s fast to work with, it helps to integrate VSL Instruments with Samples from other vendors, all big points for media composers. Also it’s an excellent option for my mobile system. And in my opinion, a MIRx Synchron venue  would be a great/simple way for the early adopters of the synchron series to integrate the new samples with the (huge) library collection we invested in over the years. It would be a welcome sign from VSL that our investments from the past have a future with the new collections, because the current route of synchron products is somewhat unclear to be honest. Now I know, meanwhile I could use the „big“ MIR with the synchron venue, but working with Apples logic pro, this isn’t always practical in the fast paced world of film scoring. In other words, I’m strongly lobbying to speed up the release of the MIRx synchron venue ;)

Best,

HK

6.MIRx Synchron Extension 9/1/2018 4:51:54 PM

Any news if and when we will get to see Synchron Stage settings for MIRx in the very near future? With the announcement of another synchron-ized library (appasionata strings) I start to wonder, if this is still on the priority list or if things have changed. I sure hope not.

Thanks

7.Vienna Instrument Pro not working in Logic 10.3 1/22/2017 9:42:25 PM

I updated my Mac OS to Sierra 10.12.2 and Apples Logic to the new 10.3 version. I'm also running the most current e-licenser software and reinstalled the current Vienne Instrument Pro software. However Logic is will not validate the audio unit, therefore I can not use the software.

Strange enough the regular Vienna Instrument software is running, just as well as all my other VSL software (ensemble pro 6, vienna suite, imperial). Any ideas?

Thank you.

8.2012: VI PRO Remote App is available NOW! 11/25/2012 10:10:48 PM

Brilliant app! Congratulations VSL. Made my dayBig Smile

9.Vienna Suite Teldex Studio Berlin 5/1/2011 10:15:53 PM

Great idea, I would highly welcome this addition!

I can see that maybe there would be a technical or marketing challenge to this, than again it it would be a great teaser to get folks with smaller systems (and impatient mac users for the meantime…) to turn them into future addicts of the MIR project…

Hi,

Is VSL having a booth at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt this year?

11.Loading lots of samples into RAM with Ensemble Pro on a Mac Pro takes extremely long, solutions... 2/22/2011 12:54:08 PM

Interesting points, thanks for sharing!

I don’t
quite understand why it takes longer to load samples with VI Pro than with the regular VI?

Is there a
speed difference between Ensemble (not using the service center, just as a
standalone) and Ensemble Pro in terms of how much time it takes to load samples
into RAM (apart from the somewhat longer license scanning process at the initial start)?

Can anyone comment if these things look different in the world of Windows 7?

Thanks!

12.Loading lots of samples into RAM with Ensemble Pro on a Mac Pro takes extremely long, solutions... 2/22/2011 9:46:30 AM

Hi,

Loading 8
GB of samples with Ensemble Pro takes close to 12 minutes on my machine, the
first 5 GB load pretty fast (about 1GB per minute), but then it gradually slows
down. Loading anything beyond 8 GB takes extremely long (at least an 1 hour for another 8 GB and there’s now feasible way to load more than 16 GB).

By
contrast, it takes Kontakt 4 in standalone mode less than 4 minutes to load 8 GB of samples into RAM and there’s no slowing down going beyond 8 GB.

I’m loading
my samples from separate internal hard drives (Samsung Spin Point F3, 72000U/m)
and setting up a new system with a Mac Pro (12-core, 2.66 Ghz, 48 GB RAM). All
VSL software (Ensemble Pro, VI Pro) is up to date, clean install on a new
machine. Working with logic 9.1. For what it’s worth, Rember RAM test and the extended Apple hardware test report no problem with the installed RAM.

Is this a
Mac platform related problem? Are loading times with larger Windows 7 systems for Ensemble Pro easier to handle?

Any insight into this greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
