on Dec. 16th between 16:30 and 19:30 UTC some nice guys from Russia decided to create an enormous number of new accounts and began to send Private Messages before we could take effective measures to block this abuse.
Unfortunately - depending on your settings - some of you have received email notifications about the arrival of a Private Message telling you how to "Get Paid $10.000" though the Private Messages as such have been deleted.

We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for understanding, that from now on Private Messages can only be sent if your account is not moderated (which is the default for new users).

having a quick look into your registered products it seems you have only 3 out of 4 SE Vol.1 sections and 2 out of 4 SE Vol.2 sections. crossgrades can only be processed for complete Volumes.

this means you had to complete both volumes to be eligible for a crossgrade discount.
or you may email for a special deal taking advantage of the current promo.

in case you haven't done so: especially log-files can be compressed significantly using ZIP or RAR.

to explain: according to its age, design and nature email transport (SMTP) has to encode attachments using a limited amount of characters and split them into parts, wich results in an increase of message size of up to 30%.
the vsl mailservers are limiting the message size currently to 20 MB, some mailservers actually to 10MB.

it appears we can easily fulfil your wish to allow spellchecking, though this setting is buried in a callback - please be patient with us.
to move the "mark forum read" link to the top i'd like to discuss internally first, because logically "unwatch forum" and "RSS" had to be moved also and positioning somewhere on top is a little bit complicated due to a lot of control elements crowding there.

regarding your question: yes, a single image will display as thumbnail on the bottom of a post. we will take a look if it is atleast possible to do that for all attached images.

if i understand your request correctly you would like to have images appearing within your post and not at the end as attachment resp. if only one image attached in a preview thumbnail.
unfortunately the application on which our forum is based does not provide such an option - it would be more the behaviour of a CMS or blog rather than a forum.
however it would be possible to insert a base64 encoded image within text but i would not recommend it because it would not be auto-scaling and such an image would not appear in your Personal_Files.

hi plowman, unfortunately the process is not super intuitive ...
- post your message;
- check "Attach files to this post";
- click "SAVE";
- select file opens a explorer/finder dialog (sorry for german in my screenshot);
- see the selected file in input field and click "UPLOAD";
- check the list of attached files and add further files or delete existing;
- click "BACK" to return to your post with slected file(s) attached;

every licensee can access the software and library downloads from everywhere after successfully authenticating on the VSL WebSite. hopefully the eLicenser(s) did not remain at the campus ...

welcome johngrant,
you can use any eLicenser from Steinberg to store VSL licenses on it - just make sure you have installed the latest eLicenser Control Center (or at least update the eLicenser database using maintenance in eLCC), otherwise it may not recognize newer VSL licenses.

so it sounds like indeed there _are_ some incompatibilities between the lighning-to-ethernet adapter and the usb-to-ethernet adapter. but the MacBook as well as the Dell should also have a "regular" (gigabit?) ethernet port, don't they?
have you already tried to connect both using these ports (just for testing)?

if you send us the details to i'm sure we can get a much clearer picture of your issue (how do you connect to the internet, used IPs on all ethernet ports, ect.).

also please make sure you actually are using 2 separate network ranges for internet and the direct connection, both are using different class C network (network mask 255.255.255.0) and the direct connection is using a private network range (e.g. 192.168.100.x where x is between 1 and 254 and different for each device).

that's what made me think about the failed autosensing .. especially because in a former post you mentioned that "plugging your internet connection to the PC works", so we can assume the network adapter attached to the PC is ok.

hi Will,
ahead: to leave the gateway empty for an additional network is the right way (the gateway describes the "door" to public IPs, which is required for the network connected to the internet, but not for a private network connection to an audio-slave/-host).

just an idea (assuming you are connection the thunderbolt-to-ethernet and the USB-to-ethernet adapters using a standard ethernet cable): maybe both or one of the adapters is not capable of a feature called "auto-sensing", so your setup would expect a crossover-cable.
if available you can prove this by trying to connect both adapters via a switch.
