10.MIDI TIMING (Latency) Midi arriving early 4/2/2012 10:52:35 PM

Cubase useres make sure you check out page 3 has a QT movie of someone showing the problem

http://www.steinberg.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=20516

this is the same problem I have had for a very long time but I did not know it was cubase I thought it was VE-PRO

11.MIDI TIMING (Latency) Midi arriving early 4/2/2012 10:40:03 PM

Thanks for the link

anyone who uses Cubase should check their midi TIming. And report any problems to Steinberg to try to get this fixed.

I thought it was Ve-pro but it is not

Thanks to the great Ve-pro tech support I found out that it is imposible for Ve-pro to move midi early

12.Midi Recording Early HELP 3/29/2012 8:21:03 PM

Hi
I am  having a problem with my midi arriving early in Cubase 6.05 Build 357
Midi playing back is not what I hear when I play it in. It is always early.
I have done tests and this only seems to happen with VE-pro instruments coming from my  slave
but it does not happen with samples coming from my master Mac.
My Master Mac is a OS 10.6.8    2x3.2 Quad-Core   24 gig of RAM
My Slave Mac OS 10.6.8   2x 2.66 Dual Core 20 Gig of RAM
VE-PRO version = 5.0100068
I have my Buffer in Cubase set to 256 and VE-PRO buffer set to 2.
I have had this problem for a very long time and it is impossible for me to work with this latency.
Thanks so much for the help,
David

13.MIDI TIMING (Latency) Midi arriving early 3/25/2012 2:50:25 AM

Anyone out there using a Mac  that has midi ariving

14.MIDI TIMING (Latency) Midi arriving early 3/19/2012 1:39:13 AM

I found that happening when I have compensate for record delay enabled in device setup in Cubase. VEP is compensating for its latency already.

So How do I turn off the above

is that only cubase on a pc? I don't see it in Device setup

15.MIDI TIMING (Latency) Midi arriving early 3/3/2012 2:59:24 AM

ok I will try to turn that off.

thanks, anyone else have any ideas??

dave

16.MIDI TIMING (Latency) Midi arriving early 2/29/2012 9:40:17 PM

I am having trouble when playing in parts live

so is there a test that I could run to simulate me playing in parts live?

so that I could be more scientific compared to me just playing in 8th notes live and seeing were the notes fall.

thanks for the help,
David

17.MIDI TIMING (Latency) Midi arriving early 2/29/2012 4:16:33 PM

I have tried putting VE-PRO at 2 and 1

and have tried 192, 256, 512 on my RME card.

thanks for the help,

Dave

18.MIDI TIMING (Latency) Midi arriving early 2/29/2012 2:59:37 PM

Hi

I am on a Mac using Cubase 6 (64bit)

and find when I play in midi it always is a bit too early.

I have tried different buffer setting on my audio card and in VE-PRO but nothing seems to help.

I have tried two different midi interfaces (MOTU midi express 128 and The midi on my RME radat card)

When I play in midi parts what I hear when I play it in is not what I hear when I play it back.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Dave

20.Best way to Get LOW Latency with VE-PRO? comparing Standalone to Server 10/18/2011 12:26:34 AM

the problem is that Cubase is not sample acurate when using Ve pro in stand alone

I have done a bunch of tests and now have gone back to useing Ve pro server because of the timing is tight

21.Best way to Get LOW Latency with VE-PRO? comparing Standalone to Server 10/4/2011 12:59:25 AM

I am using Cubase.  So It does have delay compensation.

I tried using the stand alone but found that I can't get the audio to line up

when it gets back into the master. So now I am going to try going back to server

but add a fast PC slave to get rid of most of the VI on the master mac.

22.Best way to Get LOW Latency with VE-PRO? comparing Standalone to Server 10/3/2011 12:37:05 AM

anybody???

23.Best way to Get LOW Latency with VE-PRO? comparing Standalone to Server 10/2/2011 2:24:35 AM

Is it best to not have to many Kontacts running on my Main mac and have most of the load put

onto the slaves?? Is this the way to keep latency down to 128 buffer on the master??

If I want to stay at 128 buffer on the master how much stress to the cpu does each new VE-pro slave add?

Has anyone compared VEP stand alone to the VEP server  latency?? If I have VEP in stand alone mode and have

my main mac set to 128 buffer and my slave set to 128 buffer how would this set up compare to VEP server set to a buffer of  128 buffer

on master 128 buffer on slave?

thanks so much for the help,

Dave

24.Tempo Changes causes audio pop with VEP slave instruments 9/22/2011 8:50:12 PM

I have had the same problem. I have just done a switch from VEP server to

VEP stand alone and I find Play and some Kontact patchs give me pops and clicks.

I think it is patches that are sending out tempo that is causing the pops. I have found

that I can get rid of the pops but I have to raise my buffer way up on my slave.

Try raising the buffer up does that get rid of the pops for you??

25.Audio using Hardware please - I just want a 64bit shell and Midi over Lan 9/17/2011 11:32:31 PM

I thought I was the only one who wants to use VE-pro in server mode

but run audio over ADAT.

I also thought I was the only one who can't deal with the latency of VEPRO over ethernet.

Please VE-PRO can we have this added to furture updates??

thanks
Dave
