1.New versions using WAY more resources with Cubase 9.0.30 or 9.5 1/5/2018 12:45:45 AM

What I've found it´s a slower GUI. The hierarchical menu goes to jumps. Not fluid. I mean, INSERT-VST or AU, navigate over the names of the available plugins it´s not snappy.

3.VE Pro audio muting when switching tracks in Cubase Pro 8 7/5/2017 9:16:20 AM

What´s the latest update about the issues between AG and VEP 6?

I'm having some strange behaviour with VEP 6 (including v6.0.16068), and Cubase pro 9 (latest version).

I own a MacPro 2013 with 6 cores (12 threads) and 64Gb of RAM.

I've create 8 big instances VEP instances. VEP configuration is using 10 threads in total.

I create a test project to play instruments within the instances, everything seems to run fine (less than 50% CPU.

I loop those regions, and when it starts again, after a while, VEP CPU increases to almost 100%. After the loop project starts playing the same notes that didn´t have more than 50% cpu impact. Sometimes the instance shows a lot of CPU in idle mode, and sometimes not. I couldn´t find out the reason.

Why is this happening?

I've tried to change a lot of cubase/AG or VEP settings but it happens again, and once it reachs that high CPU values, system gets slower and there are clicks everywhere, and even if I try to power on/off the instances, it´s like the systems is already unstable and it´s impossible to continue working.

4.VE Pro 6 sudden CPU increase with cubase 7/2/2017 12:03:00 PM

Hi,

I'm having some strange behaviour with VEP 6 (including v6.0.16068), and Cubase pro 9 (latest version).

I own a MacPro 2013 with 6 cores (12 threads) and 64Gb of RAM.

I've create 6 big instances VEP instances. VEP configuration is set with 2 threads/instance.

I create a test project to play instruments within the instances, everything seems to run fine (less than 50% CPU. Thanks in advanced for any help

5.[SOLVED] Significant CPU Load Issue with VEP 6 and Cubase on Mac OS 1/1/2017 4:36:59 PM

I have a project that connects to three slave computers using VEP. Prior to updating to VEP 6 there were no issues. Using VEP 6 is unsuable at the moment due to the CPU load issue.

Still tracking down the source, but at this point it solidly points to VEP 6 as being the culprit.

Anyone experiencing similar issues? Anyone found a remedy?

I'm having similar issues here..

Cubase pro 9, VEP 6 (both latest version) + OsX Sierra (latest version), on a Macpro 2013 6 core 64Gb RAM.

VEP server on the same computer with 20 instances. VEP preferences set with 1 thread per instance.

I'm having some random cpu spikes. (Asio Guard is inactive for all VSL plugins). Even if I'm  not playing anything, just in pause/idle. Those spikes make audio silence per 1-2 seconds, and they are random. The lower the ASIO buffer the more spikes appear even in stop mode. Sometimes, when I've connected to a particular vep instance I got 100% cpu like there were something wrong. After close everything and open again..sometimes it´s solved. So it seems that there is something hidden in the code.

Also, I've realized that when I quit VEP, I got a VEP crash.. I'm always using same VEP server template, and sometimes it happens and the others not.

I could send the crash file to VSL if needed..

I'll try to gather all the information I can..

thanks

7.VEP 6 crashing while adding instruments and Instrument switching 8/30/2016 3:17:07 PM

I've just updated to latest version of VEP 6 today, but I'm having a lot of crashes with it...

Just one or two instances, playing with VIpro , kontakt (latest version), MIR24..

Most of the time is when I'm adjusting something in the GUI of MIR...

My DAW is logic 10.2.4, osx 10.11.6

is there any file that records the crash problem to be able to send it to you in case it helps?

8.Logic Pro X tips for fast programming/editing midi sequences.. 8/19/2016 3:16:56 PM

Hi,

I'd like to know what are the best practices for editing notes in Logic Pro X to achieve realistic mockups.

Imagine a midi passage with 16h notes repetition. Same note repetition for Strings fast passage.

The most realistic output should be as an example, that every two notes, the first one would have higher velocity than second ones , or in case of triplets, every three notes, first one has an accent and the other two of the triplet different velocities.

My problem is that I don´t know a method to do it semi-automatic (in event view or piano roll), the only way I know is do it manually selecting every single note (and that is really slow).

I know that there are some addons like Art conductor, AG toolkit, that help you to change the articulations without impacting the score, but again, if you want to mix velocities changes and articulation changes for long fast passages, is really slow if you cannot select the affected notes with some "rules" that make those selections faster.

How do you deal with that?

As an example, I'm trying to achieve the same results as the examples 33 and 34 of the Beat-kaufmann tutorial

http://www.beat-kaufmann.com/vitutorials/vi-tips--tricks-4/index.php

Thanks in advanced for your help.

Best regards

Hugo
