1.Separate single instruments vs. a3 instruments 2/19/2020 6:22:34 PM

The context is important to consider. With the Concert Band example, the flutes playing together create the sound one would expect. The clarinets are also ideal for this purpose.

If you are writing for three orchestsral flutes, you probably will want to decide which of the Flute 1 and 2 to use depending of the passage. The Also flute may be helpful if you are writing the third flute in a lower register.

2.Separate single instruments vs. a3 instruments 2/18/2020 6:27:28 PM

The three unison wood wind instruments work quite well for band music.

If you are using the flute (for example) in an orchestral setting, and you have three flutes, three different instruments may work better. If the unison passage is extensive, then perhaps the three flutes playing together would be more ideal.

3.BIG BANG ORCHESTRAL - Scoring chart 2/7/2020 6:20:32 PM

I would like to add my voice for this request as well. Seeing how the instruments are scored will be very helpful with adding other instruments.

I wondered if the notated chords were in the manual. I am guessing they are not. Please, seriously consider adding the scoring for the phrases and hits!

Thank you

4.UPDATE: 40 % on all Solo Strings and Vienna Suite / PRO 1/31/2019 6:20:37 PM

I got mine ordered, downloaded and installed. Thank you so much for putting the strings on sale! Now, I have the solo strings (con sordino) that I lacked.

I am still have hopes for Baroque Strings.

5.Solo Violin vs. Solo Violin 2 Question 12/21/2018 4:45:38 PM

How does the muted Violin compare with the other solo violins? I am asking in terms of dynamic control and programing.

6.Wondering how do you get flutes "overblow" sound? 4/19/2018 2:36:38 PM

The effect would need to be sampled/recorded. At this point, I am not sure that type of sound could be "programed".

7.Synchron Strings I 4/11/2018 3:07:08 PM

Are there plans for separate detache/portato articulations? I am very weary about using the sustained patches to acheive this sound.

8.Oboe d'amore, where's its romantic trip? 4/5/2018 3:21:53 PM

I love this instrument! I use it for a lot of oboe lines that I write. I noticed that you are using the SE version. This may explain why you are experiencing the "reedy" sound. When I began to use this instrument, I got the standard version. I loved it so much that I got the full library as soon as I could.

Personally, I find the sound to be very beautiful. This is my first oboe to use. I go to the Wein Oboe next and the French Oboe last.

9.Is Historic Winds IV coming with the missing reeds? 4/5/2018 2:59:46 PM

In these modern times, very little appears to be "weird" or "strange".

I brought up the strings because I saw the word: 'historic'. Also, Paul appeared to be encouring ideas of other possible products.

However, an important point was brought up about other historic winds. I firmly believe that a baroque Bassoon is essential. With the two Bassoons already available, users could layer the three instruments if desired. I think a Sackbut was used in the baroque era instead of a trombone. Now, I will be "weird" again: I would love to see a lute and a mandolin. How does anyone feel about a Viola d'amore?

10.Is Historic Winds IV coming with the missing reeds? 3/29/2018 3:48:29 PM

The short answer: Not really!

I looked over the artiucation list and some areas are not clear. The legato is only listed as legato. It is not stated if any vibrato is used. The only clear articulation that mentions this is the sustained patch.

Only trills have been sampled. The other ornaments have not been sampled. Scale runs have been sampled only for the orchestral strings are solo strings.  There needs to be a conserted focus on non-vibarto patches. Open strings would be helpful for this collection. I don't believe the Chamber Strings have open strings.

I believe the strings used are modern instruments. Period instruments are important!! To say that these violins are exactly the same as their baroque counterparts is like saying the modern flute is the same as the transverse flute. The sounds may be similar, but there is a difference.

The zigano technique is good to have, but I am not sure if it is suitable for baroque music.

A baroque solo violin could be very useful. I feel that you can never have too many solo violins.

11.Is Historic Winds IV coming with the missing reeds? 3/28/2018 4:54:29 PM

I think there should be a collection of Baroque Strings. The playing styles are different. Having older sampled instruments would be an excellent addition. My hope is that standard ornaments would be sampled. For example: trills, mordents, turns, and rapid scales. The vibarato would not be featured much as its use would be used more in 19th, 20th, and 21st century works. I would suggest progressive vibrato for legato and sustained patches. Detache/Portato could have patches with and without vibrato. Otherwise, samples without vibrato.

12.Synchron Strings I 3/2/2018 6:19:28 PM

The Chord progression is nice to work with.

Is it documented how far each microphone is from any given section? I have the standard edition of Synchron Strings, and I am not sure where each mic is. I have looked at the manuel, the mic listing on the product page and the mic map, but things are not clearly listed. The map and list of mics do not match. For example, the "close" mic is not listed by name! The Decca Tree is clearly marked, but I have no idea where the Mid Mic is!

13.Synchron Strings I 2nd Violins Now Complete 2/28/2018 6:03:34 PM

Wunderbar!

14.Synchron Strings I 2nd Violins Now Complete 2/28/2018 4:14:39 PM

I also had this problem. I removed all of the previous Syrnchron Second Violins, and then downloaded the new "complete" library. When the material finished downloading, I got the error message when attempting to install the newer 2nd violins. I closed the installer and then I went in and pulled up the library installer. I found the *package info* file and it installed just fine that way. It certainly took long enough...

15.Instruments in Historical winds sold individually? 1/5/2018 5:30:32 PM

The Historic Winds could be packaged as a Special Edition product vol. 5.

16.Instruments in Historical winds sold individually? 1/4/2018 5:49:20 PM

I looked at the products and the promotion. I am failing to see how the current sale would help one save money on the Historic Winds. I also see that all Historic Winds packages only have a standard package. There is no extended set.

Might I also suggest selling the instruments seprately?

17.Synchron Strings I 12/22/2017 3:43:42 AM

I got the violins today. The Standard package is hugh! I can only wonder what it will like for those who got the extended material.

I have put together something for you all to listen to. I mixed different string sections for this recording: Synchron Violins I; Chamber Violins; Orchestral Violas, Celli and Bassi.

https://soundcloud.com/user-651790202/ellmenreich-spinning-song-for-strings

I used Finale to make the recording. I hope the expression is decent. I was enjoying the nice high notes...

18.Synchron Strings I 12/12/2017 5:18:43 PM

I look forward to getting my copy!

19.FIRST DEMOS of Synchron Strings I available 12/12/2017 5:17:43 PM

When I suggested The Nutcracker, I never intended anyone to produce a recording of the complete score. There are string passages that would be good for demonstraton purposes. If nothing else, when I get my copy of the new Synchron Strings, I might put something together. The Overture Miniature opens with only strings, however they are divsi.

Another good excerpt would be from "Hertz und Tat und Mund und Leben" by Johann Sebatian Bach. The Chorale is usually translated as "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring".

I really hope we see divisi for Synchron Strings II. I might as well ask for the World too while I'm at it!

20.FIRST DEMOS of Synchron Strings I available 12/8/2017 6:15:01 PM

I would suggest The Nutcracker.

21.@Voucher: how much do we need for the missing Parts of the Synchron-Series 12/8/2017 5:40:58 PM

Well shoot!

22.Synchron Strings I 12/5/2017 8:32:37 PM

I ordered my copy today. I look forward to re-recording my music!

23.Synchron Strings I 11/29/2017 3:46:56 PM

Since this product has been delayed and is being released in sections, will it be possible to buy each section separately? At least I could afford it as I think this would be very helpful to me.

24.Synchron Strings I 11/28/2017 6:21:00 PM

Sweetwater is charging full price according to their website.

25.How about the Synchron Series the new VSL 11/15/2017 4:30:24 PM

Synchron versions of chamber and solo strings would be nice to have. Do we really need very many microphone positions for solo strings? My thinking on this is that since those instruments tend to be feartured more, their sound would be closer to the virtual or simulated stage.
