Got tired of this one and decided to hunt it down. Found it...

It was a conflict with Mac OSX server that was backing up via Time Machine.

Would be great if VEP could be compatible with OSX server app running without asking for the OSA script password.

Getting some text from the console syslog that probably does not help, but here it is:

I have uninstalled an reinstalled every single version since 4 just to be sure but the message still lingers.

Just a tad irritating. Would be great to get rid of it.

Just a bump as I am getting tired of this one. Any chance of a way to fix this?

I have done that a few times, and did it again now.

Used the uninstaller to uninstall VEP5.

Installed VEP 5.3.13151

Restarted Mac Pro.

Launched VEP 5

Same dialog pops up

Any helpful hints are appreciated...

No esoteric stuff installed, no. AFAIK.

Plain vanilla OSX 10.9xx and latest greatest VE Pro.

Odd that it is only me, if that is the case...

Ah well.

I am serious about maintaining  my workstations and see no other problems.

Just inconvenient...if you have any hint I would appreciate it!

Still having this issue all the time after trying everything suggested in this thread and  reinstalls.

Not a biggie but a minor irritation when starting up every morning.

Happy user here, with same minor problem here on two Mac Pro's.

No major headache, just a tad irritating when setting startupscripts for slaves.

Tried clean uninstall and reinstall, same issue on two CPU's.

Latest greatest MacOSX 10.9.1 and VEP 5.3.13045

I am aware that OSX is not as efficient as Win7 for a VE Pro slave.

Just curious if OSX 10.9 Mavericks makes it any worse or better?

Any under the hood changes that makes it potentially better for a VE Pro slave?

Straightforward question as many of us are gearing up to go to HDX and PT11 and in looking for bits and pieces to optimize a new setup.

Will there be any point in having AAX DSP versions of VE Pro n Pro Tools 11?
I realise we can't use DSP ram for samples, but say if you are using SSD:s and want to get the best out of a HDX DSP setup.

Lower latency when playing and recording? 
Input and output buffer advantages for professional composers?
Using DSP for VI:s in composing in order to free up system resources for other processes?
Anybody with any insight?
Is this pointless or worth looking at for developers to give an edge to a HDX DSP setup?

So if I have some Kontakt and Play instances they will not work? That's what I thought and what I see.

I was really expecting to do this manually so no worries, but a convert AU to VST would have been a dream this week ;=)

VEP 5 100 68 working great here, just one thing that makes me a tad uncomfortable:

At the end of a session as I quit VEP 5 it will allways quit unexpectadly ( actually I am expecting it to right now so it is not unexpected ;)

Opens fine again and no issues seem to creep in from this but I guess it could damage templates being saved potentially.

Is this a known problem and if is there a fix or workaround?

this againm is on Mac OSX 10.7.2 and VEP 5 100068

Here's another user planning to add PC slaves under VE Pro.
So, has anyone tried doing this dual boot OSX/Win7 in order to keep as many options as possible open?

Is it possible, and if it is, how should the drives (SSD) be formatted to optimize and enable booting into VE Pro
under Win7 and OSX to compare performance now and in the future?
I guess FAT 32 should work as it is read only for sample streaming?
I know I will have to experiment, but would be very grateful for any real advice!
