Here is my situation:

My Windows 11 got damaged, and I had to reset and reinstall the OS as I could not login. This effectively cleaned up my registry and my user folder. Although, it seems that all my applications were still installed. Anyway, when I launched Synchron player, all libs seemed to be gone. 

What shall I do? Reinstall everything? If there is a way I can avoid reinstalling everything, I would prefer that as it will save me two days...

I resolved part of this issue by activating my BBO Free in the iLok key. Even though this resolved the library not appearing in Synchron player, I still don't hear the sounds.

I tried to play around with the Studio One 5 template project 01_BBO_Drag_and_Drop.song.  Even though I have a lot of the sounds, they will not play in Studio One. For example, I have the free BBO sounds and none of them play. Even though I reinstalled BBO Free using Vienna Assistant, still the issue persists. Please advise.

Thank you, Paul. I left it overnight and it managed to download everything after the rate seemed to go up at 25 MB/sec.

I am in the process of converting to iLok and needless to say, redownloading everything at 8 MB/sec is taking ages considering all the libraries I have. I hope VSL upgrades their bandwidth capacity, which should not be that expensive in this day and age. Honestly, 8 MB/sec of bandwidth feels extremely ancient considering most now have 1000/Mbs.

After a big five-year break from music composition, I finally started doing some music. I am so thrilled with what I see with all the new VSL libraries like Synchron and Big Bang Orchestra.

I have a question pertaining to the Synchron vs BBO libraries. I am wondering if I buy a full Synchron library, for example, "Synchron Woodwinds", would this make buying also the BBO woodwinds redundant? Or does BBO have something that the Synchron library does not have? For example, the BBO Neptune (Tutti Woodwinds)? I guess my question is under what circumstances someone would buy both the BBO and the Synchron Library equivalent.

Yes. I was using Cubase up until recently, until I discovered Studio One 5 Pro.

No problem here at 48kHz in Presonus Studio 4, nor in Cubase 11 Pro, before or after loading Expression Maps. As you're not using Cubase, did you by any chance mean the new Articulation Switching system introduced in Studio 5.2?

Sorry, I take it back. I do see the presets. It's just that some plugins don't have factory presets.

I have Windows 11, and my factory presets for Vienna Suite Pro are empty.

I cannot thank you enough for introducing me to Studio One Pro 5!!! Oh-my-good. This is exactly what I was looking for, for years. I looove it!! The articulation management is the best as you said!

I am totally DONE WITH CUBASE and their crappy usability and interface.... I can't wait to start composing now some pieces with it!

This problem seems to be happening after I load the expression map for synchron strings

Is there a fix for this problem? I am also experiencing it. High pitch sound keeps playing in the background.

Great! Thank you for your detailed answer. I use Cubase 11, and also have Vienna Ensemble Pro 7. But with Synchron libraries, I am thinking of using only Cubase.

If that is the case, this is a huge dealbreaker! In fact, then they are not redundant at all! Having different velocity layers does not make them equal. As a matter of fact, I would expect Synchron Strings Pro to be the ones with more velocity layers. I mean they are labeled "Pro". Professionals want more, not less.

For this reason, I am daring use the optimized content. Absolutely not.

Hi,

I see that if a user owns Synchron Strings I & Pro, they can use the optimized content. I do not have any disk space issues, but I am concerned using the optimized content since redundant samples are being removed. Are these samples 100% the same with similar velocity layers etc? If I don't use optimized content, what issues will I face other than redundant samples?
