1.VE Pro & Cinebrass GUI 10/25/2011 6:36:12 AM

As I say, this has nothing to do with the Cinebrass problem. Loaded up in Kontakt (either in standalone or in DP) it works fine, but loaded up in Kontakt in VE Pro, and the graphics are all over the place/unreadable, which means it's unusable, as you can't see what/where you're clicking. Connected or no disconnected to a DAW makes no difference.

Ideas?

2.VE Pro & Cinebrass GUI 10/24/2011 8:22:56 PM

Nope, I'm running it with DP 7.24, and having exactly the same problems with cinebrass, connected or not connected.

Never used to have these problems before updating to cinebrass 1.1 (am on Kontakt 4, latest version).

Anyone else?

3.VE Pro and DP7? 8/7/2010 7:26:59 PM

+1

13 or 14 instances of VE Pro to connect to my slave, just because Apple can't give us the more-than-16-channel ability.

Let's have a MAS version please!

4.Why oh WHY can't Vienna use an iLok? 4/1/2009 3:20:46 PM

with you on this one!

100% behind copy protection, but it shouldn't affect workflow - i'm constantly having random problems with syncrosoft. I use ilok all the time for Mach 5 and autotune. no problems with that. i wish i wish i wish VSL would change to ilok, but can't see it happening...

5.Where to download latest library installer 12/4/2008 12:18:49 PM
Thanks colin - i'm such an idiot. Just seen that the recent updater is in the folder of vienna ensemble. doh!

Thanks for your help!
6.Where to download latest library installer 12/3/2008 11:53:55 AM
Just downloaded all the organ updates. Have tried to install, but it tells me I need a newer version of the library installer.

Where can I download this from?

8.very basic help with setting up VE 2 standalone 5/31/2008 5:25:58 PM
this is all great, thanks guys.

can't quite work out this IAC though, so i'm running it inside DP as a plug-in at the moment.

so if i want to use it as a standalone, how do i set up the IAC?

I went to audio/midi preferences on the mac, clicked on IAC driver, made it online. it says IAC Bus 1, midi 1, midi out 1 (these are unchangeable). However, if I then record enable IAC midi channel 1 in DP, it tells me that I can't do this as it would create a midi loop.

So what do i need to do on the midi side?

(audio will be fine - i've got 2408's, etc)
9.very basic help with setting up VE 2 standalone 5/23/2008 8:41:24 AM
Hello!

I'm on a mac (OS 10,4,11) running DP and VE2. it's all been working smoothly. However, instead of waiting for all those load up times on every film q, I want to run it as a standalone application instead. Can someone run me through, in baby terms what i need to do?! I've read the manual, but can't find anything on setting up standalone...

So far, I've:

launched standalone and loaded up instruments
in midi preferences I set it to input network:1
in DP i assign midi channel 1 to network-1

should this then work or am i missing a step, as I can't make a working midi connection through it at the moment?

Sorry for the basic questions!
10.Ongoing VE and DP5.13 crashing issue - have reached crisis point! 3/26/2008 8:21:12 AM
I've had exactly the same problem, and it's taken up so much time. The lovely people at VSL sent me a beat version of VE which has so far helped a bit, but it's still really unpredictable/unstable for exactly the reasons you've stated with DP5.13. As a standalone it's been fine.
11.VE outputs question 2/11/2008 2:10:28 PM
OK, i'm getting there with this VE thing, but I have a question about outputs...

If i run it as standalone, I can use all the different outputs of my interface (e.g. strings output 1/2, wind output 3/4, etc).

HOWEVER if i run it as a plug-in in Digital Performer 5.13, it will only let me use outputs 1 and 2. (Yes, I've created an audio bundle for all the other channels, and I can assign instruments to these outputs, sound just doesn't come out of any other outputs.) This is only in Vienna Ensemble. Everything else works fine.

Is this correct? Is this the only way the the Vienna Ensemble works, or should I be able to route audio from inside the plug-in?

thanks in advance!

paul
12.Vienna Ensemble - assigning outputs 2/4/2008 9:15:14 PM
I'm using it as a plug-in. In DP i go to "Add instrument>Add vienna ensemble". and Yep all the hardware outs are ticked in the bundles, but I only get sound when it comes out of H/W 1/2. (loads of other stuff in DP coming out of the other plug-ins, spectrasonics, audio, etc, so I know those outputs work) Is this the best way to go about it then (i.e. is this the way to access all the extra RAM), or is it better to launch it as a standalone?

sorry if i'm being thick :-(
13.Vienna Ensemble - assigning outputs 2/4/2008 11:20:08 AM
Never checking the website, I've just found out about this and downloaded it. Awesome. I've got the full VSI extended running with Digital Peerformer, so this is a great way to be able to use more memory.

Dumb question - is there a way to assign outputs to the different instruments in the VE? (e.g. strings to MOTU 2408 1-2, horns 3-4, wind 5-6, and so on?) I can see the pull-down menu saying master bus, then HW OUT 1/2, HW OUT 3/4 and so on), but this doesn't seem to route to the outs. Do i need to set up this hardware outs somewhere, or do i do that from within Digital Performer? (it telss me when I click on preferences that "IN a service mode, no audio/midi settings are available.)

Sorry for being so thick - looked for a video or any other tutorial, but can't find one :-)

Thanks in advance.
14.dodgy bassoon keymapping? 9/14/2007 7:39:35 AM

thanks guys!
15.dodgy bassoon keymapping? 9/8/2007 2:23:13 PM
yep, think so!
16.dodgy bassoon keymapping? 9/8/2007 1:17:56 PM
hey guys.

can someone verify whether on the staccato bassoon (on the full edition), as you play towards the lower register, they seem to slip by a semitone. think it's on the B flat. the rest of the notes play fine til i reach this note, then it's out? (plays a semitone lower than it should.)
17.SYNCROSOFT license nightmare - help!! 9/26/2006 1:01:01 PM
hey marnix.

nope none. Crying it's a total nightmare and am now in middle of another project for 3 weeks, so i've had to go and buy another sample library to keep me going, which is pretty annoying, considering how much i've paid for the entire VSI collection. I know you guys are doing your best, but i've followed your instructions down to a tee - this syncrosoft system is getting beyond a joke.

no time to try and get it back up and running again now til the end of this soundtrack. thanks or your help though.

20.SYNCROSOFT license nightmare - help!! 9/21/2006 6:19:20 AM
nope. just the one account. have repaired permissions, etc. still no joy.

must have restarted computer about 30 times now. exactoly the same. as soon as i've opened up DP and try to launch an instance of VSI, i get these license error messages, so can't get any instances open.
21.SYNCROSOFT license nightmare - help!! 9/20/2006 10:53:20 AM
UPDATE:

ok, i've managed to get the licenses to show up in the syncrosoft control centre.

however, i now cannot load up any of the VSI in Digital Performer (4.61).
It comes up with the error when loading up the VSI - there has been a problem with your USB devie. please try connecting to a different port. (the red light is on on the dongle.) i press ok. It then tells me it can't find the license for violas, or whatever. so i try to connect to a different port. red light comes on again, but after retsrtaing same error .

any ideas?
22.SYNCROSOFT license nightmare - help!! 9/20/2006 8:50:39 AM
my typing is too slow Big Smile

yep - the control centre sees the key, but it says that there are no licenses on it. (obviously, there should be about 20 - the whole cube and extended editions)
23.SYNCROSOFT license nightmare - help!! 9/20/2006 8:42:17 AM
yep.

and reinstalled license centre again. and restarted again.

and took out everything in directory manager and put them back in. the key just isn't seeing any licenses with the new manager. eek!
24.SYNCROSOFT license nightmare - help!! 9/20/2006 8:28:43 AM
hey guys

this morning was having various headaches trying to get VSL to load up sounds, so just downloaded and installed latest syncrosoft license control centre.

it now tells me (in the control centre) that it has found my usb device (dongle), but that no licenses have been found. WTF?

anyone got any ideas, as am needing to get to work!

thanks

paul
