1.MIR Pro 3D: 3rd generation MIR 7/12/2022 4:48:27 PM

Just saw the Video announcement. Looks great!

Quick question, is this Apple Silicon Native? Currently on the Specs page it only lists Intel.

2.MISSION COMPLETED: Moving from eLicenser to iLok 12/9/2021 10:57:33 PM

This is great news! Can't wait for this. Just got the new MacBook Pro so one less dongle is a good thing :)

3.Mojave - VEP5 Server "Synsopos.app" Error 2/26/2019 5:55:56 AM

Hi everyone,

I'm on a fresh install of macOS Mojave with all software & licences up-to-date. I've been getting this error when trying to open up VE Pro 5 Server:

"Application 'Synsopos.app' could not be started. Probably the file is corrupted or incompatible, or file access permissions are set incorrectly."

I do not get this error when opening the non-server version, nor do I with VE6 Service (not pro).

I know it has to do something with Mojave's "Automation" section under "Security & Privacy", but VEP is there and the 'Synsopos' box is checked.

I have important Logic sessions that use VEP5 Server and right now I can't use them on this machine.

Thoughts?

4.Setting up Logic Pro X with the multiport environment and Kontakt 5 4/29/2014 6:07:20 PM

I'm having an issue as well.

I have the multiport setup in Logic X with VEP and everything is great until I try and add more than one instrument into an instance of Kontakt. The first instrument outputs correctly to it's port & midi channel, but the subsequent instruments do not. I would like to fix this so that I don't have to run a separate instance of Kontakt outside of VEP in Logic.

Thoughts?

5.Building a new slave machine 6/30/2010 5:05:38 AM

Thanks for all of the information.  On the topic of project size, I am thinking of larger projects where I would have a full orchestral template loaded up with full libraries.

6.Building a new slave machine 6/29/2010 10:41:35 PM

Hey guys,

I'm going to be building a new slave machine that will be running MIR as well as all of my virtual instruments.  I was wondering if I should go the single i7 route or go the dual Xeon route?

7.There and Back 12/11/2009 9:42:17 PM

Thanks for the input veet and don't worry, you didn't say too much. How else am I going to learn if nobody gives me thought-out criticism? Big Smile

I created this piece well over a year ago now so I'm not exactly too sure all that I did.  I'm pretty sure I did have some solo doubling, but I'd have to take a look again and I know for a fact that there was no velocity crossfades used.  I have thought about going back and massaging things further, so we'll see.  This was one of the first pieces I created after getting the Special Edition library and was done on an iMac, which I still use (haven't had the funds yet for a full-blown rig).  Like for most people, I think, composition is my friend, it's the engineering that it the unfamiliar territory.  Wink

Thanks again for all of your input!

10.Vienna Suite Version 1.1 online - including new Convolution Reverb plug 5/26/2009 8:04:52 PM

The Convolution Reverb has been out for a bit now, so I was wondering what everyone's thoughts on it are now that you've had time to get a feel for it?

11.PC dedicated for VSL 4/17/2009 12:40:29 AM

Question.  I have a similar situation.  I was looking at the Dell Xps 435 as a slave machine (Dell recently lowered the price).  My main computer, running Logic 8, is a 2.8ghz iMac, 4gb ram.  Will there be any issuses using my iMac with a slave machine? (I'm new to this whole process)

12.Suggestions for IR Convolution Plug-In 4/7/2009 6:17:26 AM

I'm in the same boat as many of you are (looking for an IR plug-in).  So I guess my question is, do I buy Alitverb or Vienna Suite w/Convolution Reverb?  Also, as I am fairly new to IR Convolution Reverb, what are the differences between Alitverb and Vienna's Convolution Reverb?

13.Just bought a Yamaha BC3a Breath Controller, WOW! 2/17/2009 2:04:57 AM

Sorry about that DG Smile  I meant to write Expression, but had X-Fade on the brain.

14.Just bought a Yamaha BC3a Breath Controller, WOW! 2/14/2009 8:04:36 PM

Thanks for your responses.  I guess what I really looking for is what sliders you assign the controller to and what kind of results you achieve with those settings and not so much of the actual settings/calibration of the BC3a itsself.  I find it interesting that you Daniel001 assign it to just the X-Fade, while DG assigns it to both X-Fade and Filter.  That at least gives me some settings to try and play around with.  Thanks again.  If anyone else has any setups they'd like to share, let me know.

15.Just bought a Yamaha BC3a Breath Controller, WOW! 2/12/2009 8:23:58 AM

DG

I was wondering if you'd be willing (and anyone else as well) to share the settings that you use?  I've been using mine now for about a month now and I find that I have an easier time using the controller with the brass and wind sections than I do with the strings (which I guess makes sense).  I would really like to use it with the strings, but I just haven't been able to get the smoothness that I'm looking for.  I was just curious to hear how everyone uses their's and what settings they use (ie. what do you assign it to; Velocity X-fade, Expression, both)?

16.Help - Logic 8 and Yamaha BC3a Breath Controller 1/29/2009 7:23:29 PM

Aer Gui Ta,

I did exactly what mosso above suggested.  If you follow that, then everything should work out.  The only thing (for a newbie like me that is) that I had to figure out for myself, was that in the Click & Ports Environment you have to drag the cable from Input Notes Controller to the new Transformer just created, then drag another cable from the Transformer to the Input View module.  I also changed the from the suggested CC13 to CC2 (Breath Controller).  For a screenshot of what it all looks like go here: http://leehuff.com/screenshot.jpg

Hope the picture and everything else helps. Big Smile

17.Help - Logic 8 and Yamaha BC3a Breath Controller 1/28/2009 8:26:14 PM

Thank you very much!  I finally got it to work properly.  I must say that while I love the BC3a, the BC box setup with Logic is a bit of a pain, but it works like a charm now.  Thanks again for all of your help.  Big Smile

21.Help - Logic 8 and Yamaha BC3a Breath Controller 1/24/2009 3:40:24 AM

I just received my BC3a and my MIDI Soulutions Breath Controller box this past week.  When I use the BC3a with Vienna in stand-alone mode, I have no problem assigning the Velocity Cross Fade or the Expression sliders to the BC3a controller.  However, while I'm in Logic 8, when I load up Vienna Ensemble, I cannot assing the BC3a to any of the sliders.  It seems that Logic has taken controll over it and has assigned it to the Volume controller.  Can someone help me out and walk me through the steps so that I can use this with Vienna in Logic?

Thanks everyone!

22.VI Controllers/Automation and Logic 8 4/3/2008 9:05:43 PM

Thanks for the advice.  Although after reading all of the forum posts I might be more confused than before :)  From what I gathered, is that I cannot use just one instance of VE in Logic 8 and still be able to use the Velocity X-Fade and Expression automations.  Is that correct?  In order to be able to control each instrument independently, I have to have a unique instance of VE for each one?

23.VI Controllers/Automation and Logic 8 4/2/2008 9:30:47 PM
I'm a beginner with Logic and VI/VE, so I hope my question comes across correctly.

In Logic, I've created a Software Instrument Mulit-Timbral track, which gives me 16 midi channels, which corresponds to the 16 midi track in my one VE instance.  When I laid down the tracks in Logic I didn't use any of the Velocity X-fade/Expression controllers in VI.  Now I want to go back and input that controller data so that the instruments have a more natural sound.  How do I do that?  I tried to use the automation features in Logic, but didn't have any luck.  When ever I tried to manually input the automation nodes on one track, it would effect every-other track as well.  Any suggestions.  Hope my explanation was clear :)

Thanks,

--Lee
