1.Does the Andromeda starter pack come with midi for the demo songs? 6/15/2020 4:56:55 PM

Does the Andromeda, or any of the other packs for that matter, come with midi info files, or better yet actual Protools/Logic?Cubase (any and/or all) for the presented demo tracks?

I believe, nay, I know, as I am certain most of the rest of the community knows, that having these kinds of files wins by a mile every time over watching tutorials. Being able to not depend have to on an interpreter or curated choices of representative information, and to investigate exactly how and with what, any and every detail is done for whatever part of whatever piece interests any and all of us individually, actually using the tools we have bought HERE, beats even decades of instruction on the matter.

Not knowing the answer to this yet, I can't exactly launch into any tirade, but for the seller's benefit and on behalf of the buying community I'd instead just like to spotlight a couple points. Not including these files seems like it would be a very, very, poorly thought out decision, as the cost to benefit ratio would be incredibly negligible. Considering the immense widening of people who might have a good deal of the original libraries already, and therefore think there that isn't anything in here for them, that is.

Because, and forgive my brutal honesty, all I really do truly want are more amazing things worth buying from this excellent company. The fact is however, that, without these files, it is this customer's individual opinion that there does not appear to be anything new in these aside from pre-built things made from material we already possess and using knowledge most of us already have learned, and the rest of us would be able to figure out. I would perhaps even go so far as opine that this product line might otherwise lower public perception of the company who, to date has only offered top-grade product, and would now publicly appear to be possibly lowering the target clientele bar. On the other hand however, the target clientele would still be increased by the same margin were these files included, while also offering something new to current clients.

Stay classy as f*ck VSL. Seriously. Please don't lower yourself in the public's eye to a company who tries to just make quick, easy cash grabs from the easily duped. And also please provide this new and valuable resource to those of us that might conceivably be able to make use of it.

2.[SOLVED] Question: 40% extended Library. 6/13/2017 6:20:32 AM

he is saying yes.

3.What can I do to avoid the "we do not replace licenses policy" aside from hiring a hacker? 6/13/2017 6:18:14 AM

Surely there must be some in-company solution. For a place where many of us have spent 50, 000 or more of our respective currencies it seems or it seems entirely short sigthed to force us into grey-market services to insure our 100% legal puchases?

It's most unbearable to think that I am a glass of spilt water away from losing my entire investment. The anxiety is enough to drive me mad.

I have thought of distributing different types of instrumetns amoung various keys, but that doesn't really solve the problem does it.

As a business owner myself I am fully aware that there are those who take advantage of my own business' lenient poilicies. But I know for certain that these same policies have earned many a long time customer's loyalty and I would be enjoying nowhere near the amount of sucess I am.

This rule seem hard set though. So I ask again. Do I really have to break the law to get insurance for legally obtained products?

4.Dimension violins II - 6th demo added: "THE RAT", using updated spiccato articulation 3/9/2016 5:55:17 AM

I mean this has to be VSL right? It SOUNDS like VSL and like nothing else I've ever heard.

Mr Bacos I did not know you were active on the forum and truthfully I only know your work from the demos here but just let me say that I am a fan. Your demos, as someone else said, go far beyond being just "demos" and are truly works of art.

For whatever it is worth your original compositions rendered in VSL was the clincher that made me decide to pull the trigger on getting into the VSL library, primarily owing to the fact that they seem to be composed around the strength of the software rather than "cheap imitations" of something composed for live orchestra.

I would give a nut to hear something you have written on VSL which exploits something uniquely unnatural to VSL itself. The individual known as Venetian Snares (no I am not he I wish) on some of his commercial releases sure as hell sounds like he is simultaneously using VSL, trying to break it, and succeeding in the most interesting way possible all at once but sadly seems to have no actual musical talent.

Hearing your skills with his intentions would be some lunacy.

Thanks!

6.Where do the extra notes come from? 3/9/2016 5:39:58 AM

When using the VSL pro version function that extends the playable range of an instrument, what is the source of the extra notes? They sound pretty damn legit but that just may be due to not ever once hearing those specific notes on that instrument.

I can't envision building custom instruments just to make these samples - these are just pitch-shifted samples of the closest real note? (with the exception of the basson of course I suppose.) If so nicely done.

7.legato vs. legato fast vs. legato sus 3/9/2016 5:33:38 AM

I am looking at the C trumpet articulations in particular though I imagine the answer is general to all instruments but what specifically is the legato sus?

I am hoping that I will be told it is an exact clone of the legato envelope with the appropriate section looped in such a way to simulate a mofo with elephant sized lungs but if so does it use the fast or regular attack and release (first and last parts of the envelope) or if not in what other way does it differ.

I appreciate knowing.

Thanks,

Brian

8.3 questions relating to VSL's strings in general 3/9/2016 4:31:16 AM

I have read many mentions of people layering string from other libraries - is this due to some deficiency in the larger ensembles or is this just people playing around?

If anyone can tell about their home setup of combining VSL and other strings and what it acheives from them that VSL could not on its own it would be extremely helpful. I currently have the full solo strings and the next step I am looking to take is to buy 2 "large string ensemble" librarys, one from VSL and one from elsewhere to combine/ add depth.

It would be wonderful to know what the difference in use is between the appassionata strings and the orchestral strings. It seems like there are many who own both - why? Did you have one and when the next came out it was better? Is there a real advantage to having both or is it more of an either/or situation?

9.how about some direct communication? 3/9/2016 4:21:43 AM

ok thanks then. I guess I should have figured it out on my own. Can I ask where people tend to generally sell them? Only Ebay is prohibited or all open advertising on the open web ie only private message boards.

10.Special Edition uses after upgrading to standard/full? 3/9/2016 4:18:47 AM

In my experience considering the rather extreme difference in what even a standard library version can do compared to the special edition version my only use for the SE is to get a general idea of what instruments I will end up using and which I will more likely pass over.

If you already know which instrument you want and will use, and the standard is close to the price of the SE, that my friend, is what I tend to call cause for celebration rather than further deliberation.

It may be taboo to say this here but the fact is that not all VSL instruments are truly created equal, and probably also sometimes we as users may not know how to use them as well as we think we do. Either way I wish I had adopted this strategy earlier and I would then have a standard solo flute instead of flute ensemble, and the VSL Viennese horn rather than the VSL tenor sax, but hey, that's just me.

11.how about some direct communication? 2/29/2016 3:27:45 AM

It's really leaving me with a bad impression that I can ask a question is someone else's thread about sales and it seems to be fine yet if I start my own thread with the same question it gets deleted repeatedly, with no explanation in my inbox.

If someone could outline the apparent grey area of whether or not it is in fact allowed for us to state we have instruments to sell or not, or why it may appear in some cases it is and in others not, it might help prevent me from stopping this bad taste that is beginning to form in my mouth about using these products.

Very shady.

12.Policies? license transfer? 2/29/2016 3:07:19 AM

How do you find a seller? After seeing this thread and the reply of someone explicitly stating interest in purchasing I made my own post to facilitate my own sale and it got taken down apparently?

13.Should I be able to save my Frames or do I need Ensemble Pro for that? 6/25/2015 6:22:58 PM

Title really covers it all; have the standard Vienna Ensemble but I get an error message whenever trying to save my own created Frame. Is it really not possible in the standard version? Is my only other option to go back to loading individual instrument instances in Protools?
