2.[SOLVED] All of my instruments have disappeared from Synchron Player. 5/26/2020 8:00:37 PM

My Synchron music projects have become silent, and when I checked the directory manager, all the instrument folders are there, and all the licenses are present on the USB licenser. I tried a couple DAWs, and Synchron Player is there, but the instruments are all missing. How can I fix Synchron Player?

3.NEW: Synchron Bösendorfer Imperial 5/26/2020 7:45:11 PM

Dagnabit! Something else I really want to spend my money on. The Bösendorfer Imperial is my favorite piano. Would it work on a standard HDD? My SSD isn't big enough for the full library.

4.How does the Synchron-ized Woodwinds compare to the Synchron-ized Special Edition Woodwinds? 5/18/2020 4:17:14 PM
I have the Synchron-ized Special Edition Woodwinds, and I’m really impressed with it, and I’m eyeing the Synchron-ized Woodwinds. Considering that the Special Edition has the main articulations that I use, what kind of improvements will I see from upgrading?
5.How does Synchron Strings I compare to the other VSL string libraries? 5/14/2020 3:44:47 PM

Currently, I cann't find a better combination than layering Synchron Strings I with Synchronized Dimension Strings.

How does Synchron Strings I compare to Synchron-ized Dimension Strings? Is there any benefit to a Synchron product being created from the ground up, vs being Synchron-ized? This is more subjective, but if you chose one product, would it be Synchron-ized Dimension Strings or Synchron Strings I?
6.How does Synchron Strings I compare to the other VSL string libraries? 5/12/2020 12:11:43 AM

The strings I use most often are the starter edition and Synchron Special Edition orchestral strings, and I've been eyeing Synchron Strings I, waiting for a sale. I tend to gravitate more toward "good for classical" virtual instruments than bombastic "movie trailer" instruments, because I like the warmth and dynamic range of classical recordings. What other instruments in the VSL lineup does Synchron Strings I sound closest to? When I get Synchron Strings I, I'm likely gonna replace my strings in my current projects, which use mainly Starter Edition orchestral strings.

7.How can I give my Adventures on Earth 'VI Starter Edition' mockup more blur in the woodwinds/strings 5/11/2020 1:49:22 AM
https://soundcloud.com/seangetchius/adventures-on-earth-midi-cover
That's my mockup, in which I used mostly VI Starter Edition. I've found that the live version, and the 'Adventures on Earth' demo on this website has more blur. At the benning of the piece, my woodwinds/strings have a distinct "apple pie, apple pie, apple pie" (two 16th notes and an 8th note) rhythm. I downloaded the MIDI file from this site, to compare, but I have very few full VI instruments, so it's a bit hard to compare. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get more blur in the dancing strings and woodwinds, at the beginning of the piece, using the VI Starter Editions?

[Edit] When I looked at the MIDI file demo from the music page here, I seem to recall seeing a "fine tuning" CC in the Event List in my DAW, for some instruments, which I'm guessing is to sightly detune some of the instruments. What about the humanize function: how can I use that effectively, so the spritely "apple pie' rhythm in woodwinds/strings at the beginning has some more blur?
8.I use both VI Starter Packs and Synchron-ized Special Editions. Which route should I go? 5/7/2020 3:58:43 PM
I have a few of the VI and Synchron starter packs/special editions, and I useboth equally, and I've found them to be some of the most consistent products I've used. When I bought MIRx and started integrating the reverb into VI Pro, people said it sounded like I recorded a live performance, that filled the room and wasn't smooshed between my monitors. Some people are a bit dismissive of dry samples, but when I played dry samples with MIRx, I got some smiles and "wows".
I use the Synchron-IZED Special Editions just as much, and the built-in reverb is natural and mixes well, and the keyswitching isn't as scary looking as VI Pro. What exactly are the Synchron-ized instruments compared to the VI instruments: are they new stereo recordings, with the room built-in? What exactly are the differences between Synchron instruments, and Synchron-IZED instruments? I've read around on forums that having the room built-in is the way to go, but what exactly are the benefits?
I'm not an audio engineer or audio scientist, so a lot of the big words mean very little to me. I'm a functional virtual instrument musician: I try to learn all the cool technical stuff and get the most out of it, but I don't fixate on the technical bells-and-whistles, and I don't spend hours, taking every note under a scalpel. Since I use both the VI Starter Packs and Synchron-ized Special Editions, and I'm enjoying both, would you suggest I go the VI route, or the Synchron route? From what I understand, the Synchron-ized Series is a remastered version of VI instruments, with the new Synchron Player, but what are the benefits? If I go the Synchron route, should I just hold off and get the new Synchron Series instruments, rather than Synchron-ized Series (and continue to use the VI instruments until I upgrade)?
9.Do the full version of instruments sound any better than the Special Edition instruments? 5/4/2020 4:53:27 PM
I use mostly the Special Editions, and added a few full instruments I really liked. When playing the same articulation, do the full versions of instruments sound any better than the Special Edition instruments, or does the full version simply offer more articulations?
10.How often does the VSL sale come around? 5/4/2019 6:01:52 PM
I’m gonna get more stuff eventually, but I don’t get a steady weekly paycheck. How often does the sale come around?
11.Multiple mic positions in VI Pro? 5/1/2019 3:51:25 PM
<p>I'm new to Vienna Instruments, and took an existing project in another VST (that had stage mics)&nbsp;and has&nbsp;panning set up in my DAW, and replaced all the instruments with Vienna instruments. The project, played with the Vienna instruments, sounds like it's between my speakers, whereas the original project has more depth. I'm using a convolution reverb, but it just adds some echo, and doesn't add much depth and doesn't allow for instrument placement on the stage (it only has left/right panning).</p>
<p>If I want to add 3-Dimensional depth, and not just left/right panning+ehcoes, without a lot of added time and tweaking, would something like MIRx let me add some depth and make the virtual orchestra blend better and sound more cohesive (rather than a sounding like bunch of instruments)?</p>

[Exit] I ended up getting the MIRx demo, and a friend said "wow! How did you make it sound 3D? Yesterday, it just sounded like a bunch of musicians...today it sounds like an orchestra"
12.Multiple mic positions in VI Pro? 5/1/2019 5:10:04 AM

I'm working on a project with VI Pro, and it sounds in-your-face. The demos on this website sound more laid back and spacious. Is there any way to change the microphone placement, so it sounds mellower?

13.I changed my audio device in Vienna Instruments stand-alone, and now VI crashes my computer 4/29/2019 4:26:11 PM
Link: DxDiag.txt
Windows 10 (automatic updates turned on), Focusrite USB audio interface (latest version) and USB MIDI keyboard.
There was an input lag, so I changedthe device to Focusrite ASIO, in Vienna Instruments, and now when I load the program, my computer freezes and crashes when I load Vienna Instruments.
I backed up the registry and uninstalled the Vienna software and deleted a bunch of Vienna registry keys. I re-installed the Vienna software, and VI stand-alone still crashes my computer. What can I do so I can get back into the program without my computer crashing?
And once I fixthe program, what settings should I use to reduce the lag?

[Edit] Using VI instruments through my DAW still works.
14.Upgrade path to The Symphonic Cube: can I buy the Cube in sections? 4/27/2019 5:04:07 PM

I’m a little unclear. I can’t afford a “complete” package, but the Cube would provide me with everything I’d want. If I were go to Products—>Symphonic Cube—>Woodwinds I, and I bought Woodwinds I... if I eventually bought the Symphonic Cube, would it deduct the price of the Woodwinds I from the total?

Would it work like the iTunes “complete my album” service, where you can buy a single song, then pay the difference to get the entire album?

15.Upgrade path to The Symphonic Cube: can I buy the Cube in sections? 4/26/2019 11:03:35 PM

If I don't want to buy the entire Cube at once, can I buy it in sections? Could I buy individual instruments, as I need them (and work toward the Symphonic Cube, one instrument at a time)?
